Hey! If I am going to the train station from edinburgh airport, what will be the closest suitable stop? Also, can I buy the tram ticket by paying in cash?
Thank you m8. Do I have to validate the paper ticket (the one you had) as well as the smart card ticket or is the paper one valid automatically after buying?
My wife and I have having a mini break in Edinburgh early in 2023 (our first time there in 20 years) so we are trying to plan our journeys while we are there. We are travelling to Edinburgh by train, so we’ll be using public transport to get around. I see there is a £4.50 day ticket for the buses (central area only) which seems fine, but Is there another charge for taking the tram, or does this day ticket cover the trams too? thanks !
Hi yes u can use ur day ticket for trams to but only in city can't take it to airport etc so like west end to st andrews I maybe we bit further but yes ur 4.50 day ticket work well however if your in the city u don't really need a day ticket if your traveling round Edinburgh site seeing, where are u staying for ur stay ?
@@edinburghandbeyond Many thanks for your very quick reply. We are travelling to Edinburgh by train and staying at the Premier Inn Hub at Haymarket. Have a great Hogmanay !
@@brianmorrison9168 aww the hub I don't a video on that place as my top 5 places to stay great area haymarket bar round the corner and weatherspoons to next to station well I hope u have a great time ⏲️ 😊
On the basis that the trams can be stopped by something as trivial as a unit with a broken door blocking the line ahead, don't rely on them to get TO the airport on time!
Unfortunately taxis charge alot more than a tram and taxis or users can take 30 mins awell bus bus land are only ative between 4 and 7 or 7.30 at night morning also then anyone can use bus lane I will be doing a video on the taxo soon where I let everyone know the cost and the extra u need to pay when ur plcked up at the airport 🛫
@@edinburghandbeyond Of course its more expensive with a single pax, but on the other hand if i have 6 in the Cab it will work out cheaper than the tram to the city centre. Same goes in the city. Hanover to Grassmarket can be cheaper than the bus with 5-6 onboard. The airports drop off/pickup fees are ridiculous. Its a greed fest. We should be fighting this unjust charge. Taxi is still the quickest way to get to the city centre...and its point to point.. no having to struggle up a hill with luggage to a hotel, or even having to hail a cab to get you to the hotel once you get off tram, and i'll give you the gen on the city if you are a visitor. Bus Lanes are active mostly at peak period in morning and early evening...but watch that change. Make sure you get the correct information if talking about Cabs from the airport. There are Taxi's and there are Mini Cabs or Private Hire Cars. There is a difference.
@@MacAJ1874 I understand are u a black cab taxi am planning on going a taxi video soon if u be interested in explaining things for people to understand and go over costs up and downs and the difference between uber and black cabs ?

How long does the open return last, do you need to return on the same day or within 24 hours?
There’s no end date could use it 2 years later even

Did u have a bad experience
@@edinburghandbeyond Last Friday, heading East. Plus you just have to keep an eye on the local news to see how frequently the tram fails to run.
Please make a video of Young scot card
Ok
If I’m going to Bread Street what’s the best stop to get off?
Closes is Shandwick place / weat end then u would need to walk from there use Google should take 20 min or jump in uber or black cab
U will head up lothian Road
@@edinburghandbeyond That's great thanks for that!
@@edinburghandbeyond An uber won't know Bread St...
Tram yes definitely . February 2022 £35 for a week to park in long stay . September over £100 to park for over a week . EXPOSED GREED .
Glad you agree
I’d hide your credit card info
Aww its fine I had new card since then lol thank u tho
Busses are faster, cheaper and 24h.
Sorry busses are not faster I timed them it took 34 mins for bus on a non peck time in traffic longer tram wins

Hi yea i haven't got the confidence to go on camara yet but I don't mind my voice lol support for Ukraine much love 💕
The quickest way is by Black Cab Taxi… there is no doubt. Real Taxi’s use the bus lanes. The tram is slow.
