Hi, Taylor! Thanks for your videos, I appreciate your calm demeanor and love of natural yarns 😊I, like you, have wide/square shoulders and a small bust, so I avoid yoke sweaters. They seem best suited for sloped shoulders and rounder chests. But there are so many beautiful designs! I recently saw a recommendation to start the neckline for size 1, add a few short rows at back neck before the colorwork, increase stitch count to size 2 (or even 3) across shoulders, doing a few more back short rows after colorwork if necessary, and decrease back down to size 1 stitch count before separating for body/sleeves. I intend to try this method in 2024. I tend to add wrap-around short rows just after neck ribbing on all my top-down sweaters to make the sides of the neck snug in closer, otherwise with my wide shoulders I always end up with boat neck!

I love earth tones on you but I really love the Stephen West sweater on you. They are still earth tones but brighter. It is really lovely on you!
For my shifty cowl, I only mattress seamed it up 1/2 way 2/3 of the way. It’s on my Instagram and FB pages both pictures of how it can be worn. I had the same issue as you with it. I wanted it lower on my neck and on your shoulders. It gets very cold in Dallas some winters. Especially when you lived in California for 25 years of your life. Merry Christmas.

I think I'm going to cast on my Artus Shawl today. The KAL will include WIPs according to Natasja's newsletter, so I might get a jump on it. I'm very excited about my color selection. It's blue/greys and deep warm reds.

Finishing up a self drafted sweater I’m calling “Pink Caramel” that should be off the needles in the next day or two. I knit a few self drafted color work cowls for Christmas gifts too. omw i swear it looks like you even hand knitted your calico cat lol!!!! you do such a gorgeous job, thank you for being confident to step out and share it to us all :D! i would have done so myself years ago but i was horrifically hacked and they look for personal account information for quick grabs at cash and such. so for me it was not worth the risk, so i do much enjoy when folk like you are able to post what you do! i absolutely love it :) keep up the good work.

Hope you all are having a good holiday so far. Know all about the cat treats.. mine ended up with some of the christmas chicken 🤣 Was good to get your thoughts on the shift cowl, I'm new at this spinning business and was planning on using my skeins for it. Had been wondering how it would sit and whether I'd wear it. We don't get the real cold temperatures where we are in NZ so just haven't been sure.
Wow, IMO cowls shouldn’t need effort to figure out how to wear them. Thanks for your honest feedback on the Shift (or Shifty?).

I’ve knitted and crocheted for many years. Mostly basic cardis and pullovers. I’m not familiar with some of the yarns you mentioned, because I also used basic acrylic, wool, cotton etc. Could you put the names of the yarns used I. The drop down? I want to venture into mohair but don’t want it to itch.
The non basic knitting I’ve done is one fair isle cardi, one entrelac pullover and one cable / fisherman’s cardi. I prefer top down knitting and I’m going to venture into yoke sweaters next . Oh I’ve also knitted 4 pairs of socks and need to up my sock game. I consider myself an advanced beginner, maybe an advanced knitter with issues 🧶
My fav mohair is Isegar’s silk mohair… it is divine!
