It's really good to see dedicated hunters consistency to scout areas you know actually get out of the truck. Just proves the fact that you put the work in and be able to harvest animals each year congrats can't wait to see your next hunt.
Thanks man. I like getting out there and away from the masses. I’ve never enjoyed being in areas that lots of other guys are hunting. I will always try to get away from other hunters in order to hunt animals that are not pressured or on edge.
It’s way tougher than you might think. But you’re right… I do not practice that shot and I definitely should. Thank you for the kind words Wayne. I appreciate it. Best of luck to you and take care.
I appreciate the kind words. My wife may not agree with that sentiment, but I can’t get enough of it for now. Headed to Colorado later this week. Thanks again and take care.
Thanks man. It’s been a slow start for me personally, but I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved in a lot of great hunts this year. I wouldn’t have it any other way! Thanks again and take care.
I thought the same thing. Well… I also couldn’t believe that I had missed at that close range. But I sure did. I’m glad he gave me a second opportunity.
Congrats again on a nice general season buck! Looks like we are hunting some of the same country. Wouldn't be surprised if I bump into you on the mountain one day. Congrats to your fam for having a great year so far!
Congrats on a great buck and a great video. You were seeing tons of bucks. That's awesome. I ended up taking a little forky on the second to last day I could hunt since the season was winding down and I wanted meat in the freezer. I had passed on him a couple of times earlier in the week, but knew I was running out of time. Great footage of the coyotes, too.
Thank you John. I got lucky for sure. Decided to hit a spot that I hadn’t been to for months. It paid off. There was nobody else up there and plenty of deer - including bucks. Which was awesome. Glad to hear of your success. That’s fantastic. I hope you’re going to out a video together of the hunt. Congratulations.
Dang B, you make it look so easy. Truth be told though, you just know how to hunt! Much respect. I'd be pleased with that buck any day, let alone 2nd to last day! Congrats, and well done dude!
Thanks man. Very kind of you. I had a blast this year. I was able to spend a lot of time with my boys on the mountain. We had so much fun together. Collectively we went 4/5 on our general season buck tags. That’s pretty good in my book. I still have a few more tags for some out of state hunts coming up. So… it might end up being epic. We’ll see. Anyway… best of luck to you man. Take care.
@@BMCBryce Sounds like time very well spent, not to mention successful! That is awesome! And I'm amazed you do it all not too far from home. I was able to fill my cow elk tag, but didn't see anything worth shooting on the deer hunt. Ah well, at least the freezer is full! Good luck on your out of state tags. I'll be expecting a vid for those hunts here soon! 😏
Thanks man. I didn’t get the kill shot on video, but at that point, I never care about video when an animal has been hit. It becomes very serious at that point until he is down and no longer suffering. So, filming goes out the window. But that’s very nice of you to say, because yes… self filming hunts is incredibly difficult. Thanks again. Best of luck to you and take care.
That's a nice buck I hunted the early rifle and hunting on public we found 60 deer and couldn't find any bucks. Finally the last day we found two forky's which me and my hunting buddy decided to take. It was a good hunt but rough.
It’s been a good one for sure man. And the good news is, there’s still more to come. I’ve still got some out of state tags that I’m very much looking forward to. Best of luck to you Randy!
Thank you very much. I appreciate the kind words. Self filming is very tough. I was a little bummed I didn’t get the actual kill shot on video… but once I had hit the buck, all bets are off. I’m not a filmer anymore. I have to get him killed. So that’s why I didn’t get it captured. Glad he didn’t suffer too much. Anyway… thanks again! Take care.
Dang that awesome, love the gun, 215gr is a heavy hitter haha but sweet and jealous that you saw so many deer. I went hunting for the first time in my life and went out in northern Utah and we saw nothing, my dad got a tag too but we got skunked and didn't get nothing haha I guess I'm gonna have to go find a place where deer are just plenty, looks like your in southern Utah? Looks beautiful and I'm definitely jealous and thankful you shared such a good adventure with us
Thank you for the kind words. My .300 Win Mag is actually my “elk rifle” but I had lent my 6.5 PRC to my little brother for the weekend, I had to take the big dog. I am very much aware that the 212 gr ELDX is too much bullet for a mule deer. But… it killed him good. Ha. Sorry to hear about your hunt. But that’s what keeps us coming back for more. You’ll get into them next time. Best of luck!
I guess I can’t really understand what you mean. If you think you can see a town in the background at some point in this video, you’re mistaken. There was not a town within 20 miles of where I was hunting. There is a highway, about 4 miles from where I parked my truck. But that’s it. I am not trying to be difficult, I just didn’t fully understand your comment.
I have a dedicated hunters tag in Wasatch west. I'm trying to figure out what trails to go hike and find bucks. I've gone on roads and up atv trails in my dad's rzr.
Hey Mike. First off… thank you for the kind words. The pack in this video is the Mystery Ranch Metcalf. I have used just about all of the major packs. I bought this one this fall wanting to try it out. So far, here’s what I can say about it. PLUS: It’s comfortable, it hauls weight well. MINUS: Heavy, very loud materials (which will ensure it last longer, but still very loud), very user NON friendly buckle system, strange layout of the lid or top. No real fast access to main compartment.
Both the Manti and Wasatch are different areas or units. They both are made up of public and private lands, a mix of BLM, Forest Service, state lands and privately owned land. Where I hunt is public - since I do not own any land of my own. I hope that helps.
Yeah, I don’t typically hunt deer with my 300 Win Mag, but I had let my little brother use my 6.5 PRC that weekend. So, I had no choice. I agree with you that it was a lot overkill. But at the same time, it kills them really good too.
That’s cool. I mostly hunt the Wasatch and the Manti. But always end up all over the state and other states every year with different tags and hunts. Best of luck man.

the first bullet literally touches the front of his shoulder CRAZY!
Yeah, kind of wild he didn’t move! I got lucky for sure. Thanks man. Good luck.
Off the shoulder is a tough shot that not many practice and should be! Great shot man! Great buck, And thanks for the video!
It’s way tougher than you might think. But you’re right… I do not practice that shot and I definitely should.
Thank you for the kind words Wayne. I appreciate it. Best of luck to you and take care.
Thanks for sharing your hunt. Hunting three states shows a dedicated hunter that puts in the time to be successful.

Ha. Super intense bro. But me a nice buck though. Thanks Blake.

Another great one - thanks for putting this together! Congrats on the buck!

I can't believe he held completely still for a second shot. Great buck and you didn't have to hike in the snow.
I thought the same thing.

Right on!!!! Good buck, good shooting... That offhand stuff gets a little tricky at longer ranges. I can't hit em unless they're moving 😂
