Levy is an MMA fan and the "Oiled up Dana White" meme is an ongoing one. I bet that's why he said it 😁

Shout out to all the 2 year olds watching

“You never see the Scandinavian in the candidates because it poopy but” - absolute genius
"Qe1, unpinning, allowing your king to be opened up and oiled up!"
especially considering how often he plays it in title tuesday.
I like the Scandinavian.
He knows some professionals may watch the coverage here and he doesn't wanna be seen promoting it to us as he usually does because they would call it shite. Even tho he offers a course on it.
He means on that level being a tournament of the 8 best its poopy butt. Everybody else will be fine :D

Levy never fails to not make it to the candidates
This is pin of shame-able
bruh what do u expect he’s not even a gm let alone near the threshold required for being in a prestigious tournament that determines the future of chess

I wish I still lived in seattle
I think going in depth on the more interesting games is better, whether they're the big names of the tournament or the lesser known participants
Agreed, perhaps just one game covered in depth, based on how interesting it was compared to other games, even if it is a draw. And then reserve the rest of screen time for other games
also don’t waste our time with women chess
@@sneak2attackHe covered all the games, Skip the games that you don't like.
I think covering mens 4 games in detail and only ineresting games from the womens side is better. Honestly dont think splitting the vid 50% 50% beteeen men and women is fare
I mean that's agadmator speciality
I think you should cover all games, but run through the draws or the boring games
Then spend a little longer on the more exciting games👍
I agree
Boring yes, draws no. Men had all draws but hot damn if i wasn't on the edge of my seat watching hikaru and fabi live earlier

1972 Fisher: "Beat Spasky in a line that he never had lost in before"
Game 6, in the Tartakower👍
Yeah but it was about the stone age times
@@rakhatthenut3815 exactly, this is Fischer's true genius: his FIDE Elo in 1972 was 2780 (performance rating 2820...) almost 30 years before the chess engine training and preparation era (and that of the early 2000s is not comparable to that of today, we must also add this) He won 20 games in a row, and no one after him (even with the preparation with the engine 😉) has ever managed to replicate. To reach the world title, he beat Larsen and Taimanov 6-0, 6-0, and Petrosyan 6-1, an absolute and practically unparalleled domination... but perhaps you were talking about the chess variant? well, know that Tartakower is a very solid defense that is still played at the highest levels today...
Fischer beat the weakest chess World champion Boris Spassky only 17 wins 10 losses! Capablanca would beat Spassky easily 8 wins 6 draws zero losses! Carlsen would beat Spassky easily 6 wins 6 draws zero losses! Fischer beat Spassky 10 wins 15 draws 5 losses in 1992 and scored 58,33%!Spassky was 162nd world ranking and rated 2558! So we get Fischer rating 2617,78 in in 1992! Crazy lunatic Yasser Seirawan claiming wrongly that Fischer was world record power and form in 1992! The highest tournament elo rating score is Fabiano Caruana 8,5/10 StLouis elo 3080! Karpov in Linares 1994 11/13 elo 3040! Fischer and Kasparov their Best tournament scores only 2990!!
@@RaineriHakkarainen 😂👍ok... Botvinnik regained the world title multiple times, against Smyslov, against Tal... against Petrosyan he didn't succeed and then came the time of Spassky, who was World Chess Champion in an era dominated by the Soviet Union for decades... go ahead and tell yourself all the stories you want... the history of chess has been written for decades now, and it went very differently from how you interpret it...
I like the long form chess games really going in depth of each game
Ngl last years candidates the videos were genuinly amazing, so same style would be awesome. I think running through all of them skipping through the really boring games is perfect! thanks for everything gotham

I started following this channel around last year’s WCC so I’m excited for it this year
Loving the content and also your enthusiasm as well!!
thank u, keep it up!!!

Love to see all the games. Thanks for grinding, Levy!
I’m very excited to see Levy interview all these people!
I think your shorter recaps of these long formats are perfect, It is really helpful for me to stay with the swing of things.
Thanks for covering the candidates for this year again. I think doing all games is the best. For the more 'boring' games, you can just skim over it, discussing what went wrong and how the results impact standings. I still feel like it should be included in the video, even if games aren't too exciting.
Great energy coming out in this video. Very clear, crisp, concise, but without missing the great narrative and story-telling skills that you always have. Keep it up!
Bro was so trolled in canada🇨🇦 that he came back 🗿
I really liked that we got to see both candidates, keen to see the stories unfold

My 2 year old son Tanner!
The future world champion 😁
Give him/her another 10 years or so ...
I really like you covering all the matches because that way we get the general story of the tournament and not just a few parts
I look so forward to videos like this. I loved your Tata Steel coverage! It made me very excited to keep tabs on my first tournament as a new chess player. Being around a few months longer now, understanding the importance of games like Nakamura v. Caruana, seeing the underdog of Abasov draw against Nepo, and as a woman getting to keep up with other feminine chess players!
This is wonderful. Please continue to cover all games. I will happily make some snack and watch the whole thing. ♥
LOVE IT ! Show them all Please !
I would prefer the women’s section update to be a separate one. So 4 games for each video. And I love women’s chess too.
Yeah it’s a tough watch having the women’s games intermingled with the men’s - much better to have two separate vids - I’m sorry to say it but I have absolutely no interest in the women’s candidates- I don’t even know or care who is the current women’s world champion and I’m sure many male chess Grandmasters feel the same!
Thanks for the coverage. Good speed when recapping the games.
i really enjoy these shorter formats allows me to get through all the games in a timely manner

Love these recaps. I'm a casual chess fan, so whatever the format... works for me.
With the interviews I wasn't sure if you'd be doing recaps. You legend!
in depth videos are the best
Very excited for the interviews! Would be really cool to see some interviews the women's side as well I think
This type of candidate video makes me feel pretty up to date on every game. I vote for this format. Thanks for the videos Levy

This is a wonderful format. Please include all games going forward as well.
Hi Levy,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the great content. I started chess at the Age of 4-5 so about 13 years ago, took a long break and then started again shortly before the cheating scandal. Since then I´ve watched every single one of your videos and you have helped me through quite a rough time. I hope you keep up the work and potentially help others the way you helped me. Hopefully your book arrives soon (bought it in German).
I fully believe Fabiano or Hikaru will be the next World Champion.

Gotham Ive been following you since Covid. Glad to see your still Creating Content..
i love the draws, i love this format with winner take all and double round robin... the draws are all part of the meta. It's badass
Weirdo, who tf “loves draws” 😂 I like an all out slugfest with crazy tactics and moves, draws are mad boring
@@masudkhoa3861 fym, draws can be exciting as shit, did you not even watch the video?
@@masudkhoa3861 because draws are part of the meta-game. The tournament is not about a single game, it's about an overall outcome. There will be slugfests as well, there will be plenty of situations where a player must win, must take risks, and so on. But there are also times when it's kind of just posturing and feeling each other out and no one actually wants to commit to risk.
That's all part of it. I think you just need to zoom out and see the larger game being played here.
@@masudkhoa3861 you think they are boring because you don't understand what's actually going on... I hear the same from MMA fans with "the ground game is boring, i want knockouts". Yeah mouth-breathing low IQ guys who have never put on a gi and don't understand the bigger game of what's happening
Do include all the games in the recaps each day
Love the interviews
This format is perfect Levy, thank you so much for covering this! I know that yoou would anyway, but still, thanks for being consistently consistent :)

Hey Levy I was just down the street from you, stoked to see the games in person on April 20
I really like this format, with all games covered but more attention goes out to the more interesting games, of course.
This feels well balanced and gived everyone some attention. In a tournament where so much is on the line, that feels sensible
Im in Germany and its 3:30a.m. and im only still awake because i want to watch your yt video

I’d prefer for you to exclude some games you think are not worth showing and focus more on the exciting ones , my opinion tho

Thanks for your hard work Levi. Great video. 🎉🎉
Levy smells like tortoise Pooh.
Russian tortoise poop is the smelliest because it takes weeks for the food to make its way through the digestive track. The desert tortoise is not as bad. But both are not pleasant.
Finally some pro tournament recaps
You are the best chess streamer going on right now . Most fun and exciting recaps .but provide them fast i can not wait for the candidates😅
I think covering 4 mens game in more detail and only interesting games from womens side is the best option.
I Dont think giving 50% of the video to womens side and taking the time from big games like hikaru fabi today is the best way.
Either way much thanks levi great effort
As an Indian, IDC how many videos it takes, I want the longest videos about our Indian players and everything covered in detail. Everyone in the candidates has fought hard for the whole year. I want ALL OF THEM COVERED
This isn't a channel for Indian players, it is for everyone
Jeez, no one cares. Sit back and wait like all of us do instead of outright demanding special treatment from Levy.
@@KS-pw4qw levy asked for it in the video though. He himself asked if we would like it to be covered in detail, skip over the boring matches or ties and I just gave my opinion.
Levy has been tinkering with the video formats as we have seen in his interviews and podcasts. I don't think I've said something wrong here
Do it yourself, nothing prevents you from doing so. Build your channel, choose what to show. Don't depend on others you beta pushover
As an Indian , I disagree 😑
Bro what the hell is wrong with you 😕
I bought your book 'How To Win At Chess' and I am really enjoying it. Thanks so much!
Love the recaps! And btw I think you can exclude some boring games, or just mention their result without analysis
I'd really love to see more in-depth analysis of each game. Each player has 2 hours to make their moves. It seems warranted to spend more than 4 minutes on each game. Maybe just focus on the actual candidates' tournament and make a separate video covering the women's candidates' tournament for those interested in that.
I will do nothing for every like this comment gets.

Love this format! I think it's perfectly fine to skip over the draws/less interesting games a bit, but also not to cover every move and variation in the more interesting ones. That's what they're doing in the live streams already :)
