    seeing people work out and take care of themselves from a place of self-love rather than self-hatred is so powerful coming from growing up in the late 2000's-early 2010's when "diet culture" and romanticizing thinness at any cost was SUCH a thing. We love hot girl winter!!!

I truly believe because of that I was able to get pregnant and while I’m taking a break (financial reasons for the upcoming baby, not because I wanted to stop) I can’t wait to get back into it postpartum and have the healthiest life for me and my family!

    Tip for the waffles since you already have the frozen berries, if you microwave them for like 30 sec - 1 min they make like a berry syrup with no sugar added or anything!! Soooooooooooooooooo good on waffles or pancakes

    Love this! 54 yr old trainer yr who has owned my own business since 1999. I’ve been working with senior women and that has impacted me immensely. I want to age well and be active and strong and mobile. Life is absolutely miserable as you get older if you don’t take care of yourself. I strongly encourage anyone wanting to embark on a fitness journey to switch your focus from size and weight to being strong. Building muscle is the very best thing you can do for your health, for future, your appearance. Lift weights, learn how safely and lift heavy! You will be so happy with your future self 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Just trust me on this! So proud of you Allana and love that you’re sharing and influencing in such a positive way.

    For those of you who work outside the home and/or have children, I’ve found being able to workout at home is easiest to stick to. If you can get a few sets of dumbbells or adjustable dumbbells, there are great workouts that can be done at home. Squeezing in walks during breaks/lunch at work and playing with my kids in the backyard and cleaning my house has been great for getting in extra steps.

    Allana, thank you. I started my fitness journey with you last November as a way to help me cope with my dog during his final stages (he finally jumped over the rainbow 🌈 8/30) because it was such a stressful and sad time for me. During that time, I even trained for and ran a half marathon in September, yay me. Even with him gone I’ve continued running and plan on running 🏃‍♀️ a full marathon in March. It’s truly amazing how wonderful you feel when you set goals for yourself and are able to see them through. I even made the meal prep soup you shared few videos ago and Allana it was soooo good. I wish influencers would occasionally be on journeys that aren’t about making themselves look and feel “hot” and maybe focus some of that self-obsessed energy on helping others- volunteering at an animal shelter, organizing a winter food drive, literally anything that isn’t just looking in the mirror and taking selfies and endlessly obsessing about themselves and their bodies.

    Allana, great video, thank you! November is one of the dreary month in the year. The weather is bad and soo grey and depressing. It's not autumn anymore, but it's not winter yet. So it good month to start this! Also you forgot to mention that we need to drink enough water. This is another point of a healthy lifestyle and hot girl winter. Also drinking a lot of water in winter is much more difficult than in summer.

    Hi Allana,
    I just wanted to say that I love, love love your content, and I’ve been a follower for years. Love a fellow Canadian gal who created an awesome business for herself. I do want to let you know that this kind of content can be very hard for people. As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder most of their life, and fights to keep a healthy relationship with food, and exercise seeing into the restrictiveness of your program, and the restrictive eating is hard to watch.
    This is a very specific to you (Hot girl Winter), and I don’t want to take anything away from the fact that it makes you feel your best self. But for most people doing this kind of program and being able to afford to do it/have the time available is unattainable. Hearing that you were able to lose 15 pounds as a result sets an expectation that most people just can’t achieve.
    I absolutely get that a lot of things influencers do are meant as suggestions to inform their audience, and that a lot of (your very, very hard-earned) experiences aren’t typical to a large majority of people. I do think that for future content around this kind of experience, you could frame the conversation differently in some aspects like not disclosing the amount of weight you lost, and maybe focusing on the overall feeling of health rather than the exact program, and restrictions you used to get there (general healthy eating vs. specific no sugar, non-fat, meal programs etc I know you have some dietary restrictions as well. More so the conversation focused around the calorie deficit/program aspect). I truly only mean this as helpful criticism. Again I think you’ve built a wonderful business that I will wholeheartedly continue supporting.

      I appreciate the insight! The intention of the video was never to trigger anyone with an ED or anything of that nature, I’m sorry that you received it that way. My intention is ALWAYS to empower others who were feeling the way I felt prior to starting the program: sluggish, poor digestion, low energy, etc etc. I’ve had nothing but a positive experience from shifting my lifestyle, but I also understand I am very blessed to not be in a position where I personally struggle with an ED. I hope you are getting the support, love and care you need and always send so much love!! ❤❤

I also love running and sprinting on the Peloton, especially when it’s too cold to run outside. Wishing you both success with the program. I have mobility issues and am trying to learn new ways of exercising. Stretching is so important. You come to realize how important it is when you’re over 60. I bought a mat and I try and stretch morning and night. I have to do special stretches as I have autoimmune diseases so I’m pretty careful. I also try and dance. Dancing moves your whole body. So depending how I am… I sit on a chair or I stand (very low impact) Whatever I can accomplish. I have a Cubii which works wonders. I really would love to get an Apple Watch. I could use a lot of its features but $$$. One day. Thank you Allana. ❤❤

    Really liked the video! Somehow you are able to talk about diet and exercise, about having fitness goal without falling into diet culture. I don't know why now but I also signed for a gym membership last month after 3 years... The only thing I worried about of what you said is the vit. B12. It is actually linked to acne. I also suffer from it (2 rounds of isotretinoin) and it is something my dermatologist asks every time I relapse. Of course you know what's better for you, but since you struggle a bit with acne too maybe it is something you could look into. Lots of love!

    I just filled out a form for DIYBODY. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us and letting us in on your program. I have been eager to locate an effective program for myself that allows me to have 1:1 coaching whole being at home working remote, and hardly getting out of my house (like you guys). I’m excited to go “full program” like you did as I just turned 35, and have fallen into habits that are not working for me.. not healthy (i.e. not eating enough meals or food in the day). I’m excited to live with healthy intention and double down. Please do continue sharing your lifestyle.. I’ll be tuning in and using this as a point of inspiration and motivation. 💙🙏🏻

    I was running 5ish times a week for a couple of months without having a proper daily stretching routine and I ended up needing physical therapy from the wear and tear I caused and was out of running for 4 months 🥲 I learned my lesson, stretching is important and if I don’t stretch I don’t work out and that’s been a good way to get me to stretch

    Check out the peloton stretch catalog. There’s some great evening stretches that Matty does. It’s totally a personal thing but I took yoga out of my exercise routine and added stretching to every night before I go to bed and it’s been a game changer. I feel like my Cardio and strength training is more efficient and effective. I don’ miss yoga.

    I take Berberine and psyllium husk because my A1c and cholesterol have been a little higher than I wanted. I think they have curbed my appetite a bit and I’m better able to manage my weight. If you’re looking for the best poops of your life I highly recommend psyllium husk. Total game changer, it’s the only supplement I refuse to skip. Jury’s still out on whether it helped my cholesterol but even if not I’m staying on it for the poops alone.

    • @izzyclark
      @izzyclark Рік тому

      How much psyllium husk do you take? I took two capsules for weeks with no impact on the poops 😅

    • @CatherineBracy-s8q
      @CatherineBracy-s8q Рік тому

      @@izzyclark I take the powder mixed into water. I have tried the capsules but they don't seem to work for me either. I mix about 1.5 teaspoons into 8-10 ounces of water. And then I chase that with another 6-8 ounces of water. I do this once a day at midday.
      Edit to add: the powder can be a pain to mix well, I recommend adding the powder before the water and using a matcha whisk to break up clumps. Do all this really quickly before it starts to congeal.
