If we overload seed potatoes that go into sea containers for a long time, we cover them with condensation blankets. These can absorb a lot of moisture. Maybe something for you at the top of the silos to prevent mold.

I worked on grain bins and silos back in the 80s. You guys should have safety harnesses on and with the layer of mold on the top you should have forced air respirators on. But its your life and health, not mine.
Your getting huge amounts of condensation in that bin.

Seen many of men buried in grain tanks. Just because they are full and sat all winter, doesn't mean you cant get buried. The harnesses is to pull them out.
Was digging an unloading chain out of a harvest store silo full of haylage for 2 years. Took 2 days to dig it as it was compacted so hard. Quit the job on Friday so we put plywood at the opening to keep cats and kids out. Came back Monday and my boss went in the hole to cut the chain with a torch. He lit the the torch and the explosion killed him. Methane gas had built up in the whole.

Slow & Steady with Ashtyn and you may have another movie star on your farm.🤣😂.
How many bushels of chick pea seeds to you need to plant your fields?
How many bushels does each of the Meridian Hopper Bottom bins hold?
Bags sound like the preferred storage but I am guessing with your size of your operation that bags are too small to be practical.
I was surprised to hear you take Sunday off during seeding but do realize the body and mind do need a rest.
You may have to go COMMANDO 🤣😂
The other option is that underwear can be worn 4 times between laundry!
Frontwards, backwards, then flip inside out for an extra two days 🤣😂

Like the vents in a house or barn I bet you could come up with something in that lid to let the air out better and keep the rain out as well. One of those round ones that spins with the wind and draws the air up is what I keep picturing. Older you get the less fun that climb and digging is gonna get lol

We had a neighbor lady farmer (about 75) who had some barley in her grainery that had too much weed seed. It had a moldy crust about 8-12" thick. We went over there and shoveled it all out for her. We wore masks, goggles, gloves & masks. To this day, I'm sensitive to mold. When they combine soybeans or corn in the fall, I immediately start choking up. My brother-in-law almost died from mold from a silo getting into his lungs. MOLD IS DANGEROUS!

Hmmm not so fun out came the cut off discs to make a whole in the door and the grain vac! So yeah needless to say that was allot longer project than we had hoped!

Hey Mike, nice to see another sasky farm boy vlogging. Keep up the good work👍. Just a quick question, why did you choose the 50' honey bee (know they make em in your area.)? I saw a guy running shelbourne strippers last fall around Willow Bunch, they look like the cats meow. Travel speed is quite high, residue thru the machine is extremely low. The only down side I can see with your operation would be the left over stock height on cereals (not too sure though). I'd love to see you demo one this fall and do a review. Maybe a dealer might put one in the field for the publicity😉
