Finally! I found a warmup with a good piano accompaniment. Most UA-cam warmup videos just play the voice part along with the singer.

    • @JackMFromBoca
      @JackMFromBoca 4 роки тому +2

Also love the modulations between keys via the “ti-do-re” of the next key (with V chord underneath the melodic line) Much better than just playing the chord of the next note.

Is there a place I can find sheet music for the accompaniment for these Warm-Ups?

I just wanted to thank you Verba, I have been practicing daily for about a few weeks and I can feel the changing in my voice already. I have a stronger fuller more open sound. My confidence in reaching the higher range has increased. All this in just the first few weeks. God bless you. I have forwarded the links to my choir members and asked them to do them at 3 times per week.

Hey, are you also reading through comments while doing vocal warm-ups?
Let me give you something to read:
    Tips for better singing:
    - Stretch your tongue and your chest.
    - Do not drink milk/eat anything with milk in it [ Ice cream etc... ] 24hr before singing.
'cause it's gonna clog your throat which will make it harder for you to sing.
    - Use vocal fry and vocal riff and runs. Not only it sounds better, but it also makes you sound like a professional
    - BE CONFIDENT flat singing voice and cracks are mostly 'cause of insecure singers who are afraid of anyone hearing them.
    Tips for soundproofing.
If you're afraid of anyone hearing you, make your room more soundproof.
    - [ FOR THE WARM-UP / EXERCISES ONLY ] Put your hand above your mouth so your voice can get warmed up while doing the vocal warm-up, it won't make much of a sound.
    - Put carpets on the floor
    - Use thick blankets and put them on the door. They should cover the door.
    - Put a lot of furniture in your room, so the vibrations don't go any further.
    - Put thick blankets over your head. It sounds silly but hey! if you're alone why not?
These tips help you make your room more soundproof. The vibrations of your singing voice won't go any further if you use one of these techniques listed above. It won't go any further 'cause the vibration will lose energy over these elements.

Everything is right but about vocal fry and runs that’s an opinion!! You do not need to do riffs and vocal fry to sound like a good singer and especially in Musical Theatre (this video I’m guessing is on topic of MT) they usually say to not use them unless it’s a stylistic thing because it will take away from the feeling of song and character and over complicate the song. Basically it becomes more about how you sound than the meaning of the song. Don’t get into the habit of doing too many vocal gymnastics anyway that’s the difference between a good singer and a bad singer, being able to know when less is more and when to go for it!! Tbh the vocal fry thing can make you sound slightly average unless it’s a natural thing and you pick the right places!! Otherwise you’ll just sound like you’re trying to impersonate a pop singer!! Hope this doesn’t sound abrupt, the best thing you can do is train your voice as relaxed as possible and find YOUR voice not an interpretation of someone else’s, if vocal fry and riffs are what you do best then that’s great, just learn when to do it and not to, they are like sprinkles, a little is delicious but to many is too much!! If riffing isn’t your thing, keep practising the riffs but it’s so great to be able to sing simple and not overload the song and you will impress more people on a panel in auditions I PROMISE!! *Feel before you squeal*

This is an amazing warm up! 1. Makes me realize how much work my voice needs (yikes), but 2. Really works, actually follows the rule of starting in a small and comfortable range and stretching outwards (unlike a lot of warmups, which seem to just go straight to the ends of the ranges). My voice actually feels warmed up after this. Thank you so much!

Nehemiah Williams. I know it is a year ago that you posted your comments, and I also love this particular video, but there is another one headed "Quick 5 minute singing warm up", marked up as 9.53 minutes on the picture. Hello Anna et al. This is an update. Since starting with Verba in mid July 2017, I just CANNOT believe how many strides I have made. Through the tests, I found I was Mezzo as I have mentioned before, but my range in both registers have extended SO MUCH now, that I have even "broken into" light opera! I love to sing Songbirds, O Mio Babbino Caro, Ave Maria. Not sure of all the meanings, being in latin, but I get the gist! I just cannot thank you enough. I have reached heights I would never have believed possible, and singing, along with daily practices, is like a drug for me now. I have cut down on the caffeine, and I never drink alcohol, but I always have a mug of warm lemon and honey water by me. If you ever want to use my name for recommendations, I wouldn't be able to say enough good about you all. Kindest regards. xx

Hey, Anna, Mark and Nathaniel. Another thing I love about this particular video - that is the fact that there is no stopping between the exercises. Because it is continuous, it MAKES you breathe properly, and also gives you that vital energy required. I always like to pair this video up with the "Switching between chest and head voice". Awesome as usual. Kindest regards to you all xx

Hi Anna and Mark. This is where I have now reached, having used your site since mid July 2017 - I did a concert for our local Telethon charity event on the 14th October. There was just me providing the entertainment. It was an afternoon "do" and there was a celebration lunch. Anyway, I sang intermittently from 1pm to just after 5pm. I began with Musical Theatre songs, and later sang some easy listening "get up and go" songs, mostly 60s to early 70s. As people eventually started dispersing, my friend and "manager" as I have titled her (!) (she set it all up for me to sing) asked me to sing Phantom of the Opera as it is her favourite. I obliged of course. My voice held out even though I sang 12 songs in total but I suppose that was down to resting in between. When we arrived back home, my throat was absolutely fine, and I was only physically fatigued. So I think there is another well deserved THANK YOU due to both of you for getting me to the stage I am at. As usual, kindest regards xx

Love this! It was hard at first... but now that I've done it a few times, it is delightful. I feel so pleasantly challenged, and like I am building agility and muscle tone from this 12 minute exercise. You guys are great together. Thank you, again!
