I would just add outside hooks to each corner and in the middle to strap it down for hurricane/tropical storm weather since it’s so light. But this would be so much easier to move by myself and able to build on a larger scale for a small rabbit colony.
Love this set up great design! Showed the hubby only thing different I'm gonna to try and do is the the housing part be able to open from the top too separate instead of opening the whole thing.
I understand wood rot is a pain. But I have a feeling though that the PVC pipe will get brittle in the sun and weather and likely fall apart as fast as wood rots.
We went with PVC for several reasons. We wanted the tractor to be light enough for my wife and daughter to move it. PVC also made the project cheaper than wood at the time.
@@redbeardcustomworks8764 I'd love some sort of follow-up to let us know how the PVC handled the weather. I'm really interested to see if this is a viable option.
ABS black plastic is UV resistant as well as the gray electrical PVC. White PVC will get brittle after about 20 years of direct sunlight. I am 50 years old so I’m probably going to want something else when I’m 70 anyway. Maybe I build another one and then quit using it when I turn 90.
My only change is on the inside I would have done half inch by 1" because I've used half by half and it becomes a shit covered mess if it gets plugged up
We’ve had rabbits crew on a plastic water dish but they didn’t chew on the pvc in this. And this is a grow out pen, so they are all about the fresh grass and food. If you don’t move it around often enough they might chew on it but that was never our experience.
Good video but the music loop has got to go. I would rather hear silence than that nonsense I V I progression; Killing me man. I watch a lot of DIY videos so I am trying to be constructive and give you some feedback to improve your videos. It looks like you got a good thing going on, I will be back.
@@geocline missed my point entirely This thing won't last six months unless you wrap or paint that PVC. It won't last more than a couple years even if you wrap the PVC. I would use top rail or greenhouse channel lock because it will last a lifetime. The greenhouse material is light and not too expensive. It will pay for itself and continue to work long after that PVC is dust.

Great video, thanks. Would you please list the sheet metal cutter and where I can get one from, it looks like a great piece of kit
Nice brother. Thanks for sharing

This is great!

How many rabbits do you run in your tractor? Thanks so much for sharing.
Why did you cut out the larger squares on the bottom of the cage? For grass to come thru or feces to fall thru?
Well, it serves both purposes but mainly for the grass to come through. - Mrs. Red Beard

Is there were on the bottom as well? If so, what type. I would think that's primarily so they don't dig out.
Yes. 2x2 wire mesh.

We didn't really find that they made that much mess in that area. But I know what you mean.
Do you have problems with this set up blowing away?
No, the metal makes it pretty sturdy.
Just curious, but those tee junctions look like storm water junctions which I believe are 88 degrees instead of 90 degrees. Is that right?
Glue joints have wiggle room and pvc is bendable
2 degrees will not stop you
Thanks. Do you have a parts list?
Hope this helps!
6- 10ftx1 1/2 pvc
8- 90° fittings
8- tee fittings
1- 3x8 sheet metal
1-2x8 sheet metal
1lbs sheet metal screws
3- drip edging to cover sharp edges
1- box of pop rivets
2- flat hinges
2- latches
25ft roll 2x2 wire mesh
2ftx 3ft Piece of 1/2 hardware cloth
Thanks for the list- it helps a lot!
What are the dimensions of all the material. I'd like to try and make this tractor. I just recently got rabbits.
Can u send me the dimension of that, ?
What's the product dimensions & measurements...
PVC & glue, hinges, tin for top & of course wire mesh...what am I missing?
3ft. wide 8ft. long 2ft tall. Don't forget the screws with a washer to hold the wire. I used sheet metal screws that already had the washer.
What are your dimensions.
3X8X2'
Love it! What type rabbit was she?
She is a mix of Mini Rex, New Zealand and Flemish Giant.
They dont dig out of it?
If you don’t move them daily they can dig out.
What was the cost altogether?
Right around $200.
@@redbeardcustomworks8764 $200 for one rabbit tractor?
@@aromkee It was last year when we made it. The prices have gone up lately.
Nice video. Supporting each other here. Keep it up
JUST WONDERING WHY YOU SAY THEY DON’T MIX. WHAT HAPPENED?

The music is annoying. The primer is overkill.
