I just ordered one last night! I'm glad you made this video so I'll know what to expect. I have 7 pet quail that are currently in a raised pre-fab coop. I wanted to get them into a run so they can soak up some Vitamin D during the day. Thank you for the wonderful review.
I want to see a tiny house tour! Also i saw on your Instagram a couple weeks ago that you were selling some extra quail, do you still have some available? 😊
So i watched this then checked out the channel if this became a rabbit setup what did you put the quail in? Im debating on what would be good for quail. Mine are smart and do cage ramps just looking at optionn.
If you mean PVC coated, it’s fine if the bottom is 14 or 16 gauge. The only potential downside I see would be the inability to torch it for cleaning purposes.
I would like to see a review and update say 6 months out? I would like to see what it looks like after being in the the elements fora bit...I have breeder quail in another type of aivituvan cage that is an out side pen but kept inside
@Teal Stone Homestead Well if ya ever owned quail. You completely understand. Told hubby, our last hatch must have not hatched their brains fully. Lol.
I have a question about quail and noise that they create. I'm in town and I am worried about the noise they may bring. I want to be a good neighbor with smell and noise. We have our rex fluffle. Wanting to grow what I can now but also being respectful. I'm not on a large lot like you had in town.
Quail hens are very quiet. Your neighbours wouldn’t even know you have them. The males do crow, but is quiet compared to a chicken rooster. It’s more of a twerp than a crow.
I just got this for my small flock. I haven't had a chance to set it up yet as it's been storming where I am. I was wondering though, for the den, how good is it at keeping bedding inside? I plan to turn the divider to block off one door but don't really want my chicken kicking everything out. Should I invest in a 1x1 or 2x2 and make a lip?
The first thing I'll do is to water proof it ... again. What it has will not last for long. That curved part is because they used crude wood. That means they do not have the logistic to secure their own dry wood - tools to dry it, or experienced enough people to identify the dried wood... A small company?
It is prefab, so I’m sure it is mass-produced and they miss on quality here and there. I still think it’s a good option for those who may not be able to build their own structures! An extra layer of water-proofing is definitely not a bad idea.
I think a tarp over it that can be tied down like tent strings would make this last a LOT longer.. would also paint the wood that touches ground with an waterproof enamel paint as water soaking into it would trash it quick.
@@TealStoneHomestead thanks! Do you think it could safely house a dozen? I'm planning for quail next year, and I like the design of the one you reviewed.

I bought one of those hutches for my rabbit a while ago and it is still going strong.
Thank you so much for your videos they help me so much.
Nice little cage! ❤
Ohh I know the secret 😂
Nice review! And such a nice rabbit/quail tractor. Your quail are so pretty!
More attractive than anything i would build at home.. could do a heavier roof on the run for shade and weight. Nice for the price.
And this looks great for a breeding/birthing/raising baby bunny pen!
I have heard quail need about 1 foot tall or 6 foot tall but not in between because they can break their necks trying to fly. Has that happened?
There not stupid that’s a false statement

On a slightly different subject... would you advise against coated wire for rabbit cage bottoms??? In the appropriate hole space and gauge, of course.

@@TealStoneHomestead thank you for that. I will keep that in mind 😁
How to get that are the ship to Canada

I would! Do a 1x2. It’s definitely helped keep bedding in 🙂

First here!! Love you Vids!

Quail dont climb ramps!?
They’re not super bright 😂

Right now just 9 🙂

@@jrwong1219 absolutely! Quail require 1 sq ft per bird. This is 17 sq ft overall 🙂
