    I completely agree Steven. As retired painter I found poor communication or complete lack of it from other trades could delay me starting jobs. I used to ring the customer to check they were ready for me- loading up tools & materials only to find out the job wasn’t ready for me can be so frustrating & waste so much time!

    I prefer to email/message trades people 'cos i know they may have their hands full on on the job. I don't want to inconvenience them. But the amount of tradespeople who don't reply is quite a lot, I've found. A simple, "sorry, we are too busy" etc is better than nothing. Quite often, I have to resort to sites like mybuilder to find people. Another pet peeve is people not showing up at all when they say they would.

      I went to look at a job the othe day, they said the same people say they will come and quote then dont turn up, it can mess up the potential clients plans aswell if they are waiting on someone to show up.
