When I made my version, I used 4 normal sized circle skirts and pleated it all into the waist. It gave the "subway flip up" moment Marilyn Monroe had and I now want to use a pleating service for my remake just like yours.
I hope one day you could recreate the orange dress she wears in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes as well as the Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend dress.

finally The Dress that looks riht and like Marilyn would actually wear it. Not to say anything bad about other dresses or dress mkers but the right fabric and skill level matter. This is beautiful

Hi James you have recreated such a beautiful iconic dress.
I presume this is your first time using permanent pleating, here is a professional tip for you which will help perfect your sewing techniques, always hem your fabric before sending it to be permanently pleated. It works a treat.
Loved the video and have shared it with someone who wants to make this dress herself. 😁

James you never fail to impress. Such an iconic dress. Curiosity here but where do the dresses live after you’ve made them ??? How many do you have now ?? Thanks for making my day James. Keep doing them please.

Wow James! Bravo! Loved seeing you work with this fabric. And loved seeing all of those pleats! Travilla did the costumes for The Thornbirds miniseries, and I've always really liked The Thornbirds costumes. I would love to see you do Maggie's "ashes of roses" dress one day.

Guten Abend James, i just found your Account. Thank You for this beautiful dress replication. It’s Beautiful… do you also sell the pattern? I would love to try it your way. :) And what’s the fabric exactly made of? Greetings from Germany

Thank you for your message I don't sell the patterns I'm afraid. The fabric I used for the dress was a silk crepe
