➡This is a step-by step tutorial of installing, downloading, and using Audacity. If you want to SKIP that stuff and get to the NOISE REMOVING, skip to 04:00 ➡ To learn how to install the FFmpeg library to be able to remove background noise from video, skip to 07:48
I need to edit my comment, thank you wasn’t enough. God richly blessed you. I have been scrolling so long looking for ways to remove background noise till I found you. Thank you very much . This is my very first time using this with your video thank you. I must subscribe to join the family
Thanks, Jennifer for this video. Your instructions are very easy to follow and helpful. I have 2 comments on your video 1) When you amplify in your video, you put a value of -3 for the new peak amplitude and it shows a value of 6.48db (Amplification db). When I carried out the same step and entered a value of -3 for the New peak amplitude, I got a negative amplification (db) of -3.297 (and not a positive value for negative amplification (db). Did I miss out on some steps? 2) I am trying to reduce noise in a video which is not as straightforward as your video. In my video, the sounds of typing on the keyboard and yawning seem to have been caught along with the audio and I am unsure how best to eliminate this noise. Pls advice. Thanks
Jennifer Marie, thank you for this detailed, easy to follow tutorial. Thank you also, for giving us a resolution to the FFmpeg Library not found error. Unfortunately, after following the instructions, I still have a "hisss" in my video. Also, when I try to amplify the sound and set the Peak Amplitude to -3, the Amplification automatically sets at 3.525 (?). when I go back to my video audio, the hissing is still there. Not sure if this makes a difference but I'm converting MiniDV to digital. Some of these tapes have a really annoying hiss.
Thanks for the video. What i would like to see covered is how to reduce noise in a file which is not at the beginnig or the end but in the middle of the audio file. This makes it difficult to get a noise profile. How to handle such scenarios.
Is there a way to isolate traffic noise, like cars accelerating? I recently recorded a dramatic play with an entire cast (that is set in the 1600s) and when I went in to edit the playback, there are car sounds under a lot of the audio. I tried Wavepad, but all the voices ended up sounding like robots, so it seemed counter productive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I click on amplify , the amplification DB is the same as a the new peak amplitude? If I drag the slider to -3, the amplification will also be set to -3
is there a reason it might not work? I used it last year and it worked fine. With a new laptop I have background hum from a fridge motor. I even left 5 seconds for the sample. But the wave form is not changing. I dont know what the sliders do to increase the effectiveness of the tool

Good video you explain it really good. Easy learning . I like that you do it at a good pace not to fast

What can you do if there's no spot to get a sample from? The audio if full from beginning to end?
nice and easy to follow guide :) I just have a question ; can I use audacity to fix inaudible and distorted voices ?
Great timing, I just finished watching the first video you did on this subject! Thank you for also doing an update!
You're welcome 🤗

Is it possible to insert a Stereo clip within an Audio clip?
