In this metal video / vlog I venture out to various local music shops in search of some good music My Twitter - / zak_tomlin My Gaming Channel - / @iisborg
Back when I was a teenager, I spent hours at Virgin records, HMV etcetera in the metal section. Buying metal cd's was like a ritual. I even helped folks every now and then choosing gifts for their metalhead children. By the time I was in my 20s I had a whole metal collection (over 3000 cd's 😄) but I ended up selling them as a lot once I moved out of my parents house for next to nothing. Worst decision ever. I had some rarities in all death, thrash and black metal.
We lost the only record store several years ago within 100 miles that carried a whole lot of metal. We have a grand total 2 today. I never go to either to look for metal. Nobody gives two fucks for metal in this area. I hate ordering music online, but since my taste in metal runs mainly on the underground side of things I don't have much of a choice anymore. My collection right now is over 1800 and I prefer cds as well. I think my vinyl collection would be a little less than 100. I'm ancient enough to have been around when cd's came in and vinyl went away for the most part. When I started replacing my Lps with the cd versions it was obvious why cd took over so quickly. They're smaller, harder to scratch, and take up less storage space. Notice I didn't say sounded better. I'm not about to step into that debate. I listen to music more than anyone I know, and I was never able to hear much of a difference. It does my heart a lot of good to see the younger generation buying physical media again. It's especially awesome when metal is included in their collection. Thanks for sharing the video, and keep on bangin'.
In that Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the cover art was done by Artist Drew Struzan, he did the cover for Alice Cooper Welcome to my Nightmare, he also is famous for his movie posters, of Harry Potter, the Star Wasrs special Edition posters, some of the Indiana Jones Posters, and many many 80s movie posters, he’s also the guy in bed on that Black Sabbath cover. Also, the Misfits album art was done by famous horror artist Basil Gogos, who did many Famous Monsters for Film land magazine covers. He did the Rob Zombie cover for Helbilly Delux.
Excellent video, man. It's really cool to watch videos that show CD stores. Especially these days when there aren’t many out there. If you can, next time show the Black Metal CDs that are sold in second-hand stores.
If music cd and vinyls are started to be manufactured in China or India, prices will go down and will be purchased more, sadly music sellers never thought such.
Nice pick ups man! I just picked up a vinyl player and picked up Obzen from Meshuggah and horizons from PWD. 🤟🏼 it’s a shame you didn’t buy Miley Cyrus - can’t be tamed from CEX
03:07 Bro...Don´t lie, you purchased that record......IM MEXICAN and i purchase records at chopo at mexico city...me gustaria visitar tiendas como esa....
Look dream Theater next to escape the fate i have both albums lol oh some melvins a store gave me opeth blackwater park for free because it wasn’t in there data base aka discogs oh beast in black good band
Well in my case buying vinyl would waste a lot of money for me because I have always bought and listened to music on CDs since the early 1990s. When it comes to physical format I still buy CD. I don’t have a vinyl record player so I would need to purchase one. I have between 2000-3000 CDs so in buying all their vinyl record equivalents....yeah that would cost a lot. I don’t really have the space to house that many vinyl records either. So like this guy...yep I am still buying CDs.
It's awesome how they still have music stores in your country... I wish there were still some in mine since they've been gone a long time ago.
What is your country?
@@teckertime Puerto Rico
Beautiful Country. A real shame there are no stores there. @@PeculiarButtLover1993
same here in india
more of CD shopping please
Incredible! So encouraging to see you still have so many cool music stores! Good for you for supporting the cd format too. Keep it up!
I've said it before and I'll say it again...this stuff is top quality entertainment!!
Thankyou, I'm very glad you think so

Just subscribed because I love metal. Your video has enabled me to add to my collection certain bands I forgot about.

What I would give to be able to walk into a store these days and find some good metal CDs. I have to buy everything online these days.

Please do more of these!
Dude... good grab on the misfits album. Everyone hated Michael graves but that album got me into Misfits.. then I discovered old misfits
I still do this from time to time. I've always collected physical media ever since I was a young kid growing up in the 1990's.

I wish there were music shops in my country
nice vid - sorry if I missed it but what towns where you in? Always up for checking out new record stores
This is honestly the best video especially for CD shopping. I’m a CD and record collector myself. Also good choices of albums.

I can see buying vinyl but cd's? I have my old CD's and sometimes I will find a rare Hendrix CD but for just a regular album? Waste of money
