i highly recommend watching some of the Vlad Tepes documentaries on youtube. there's so much more to him and his tactics. the reason he chose to impale the ottomans was strategic. romania always had a low number of available fighting force. even more so in the medieval period when Romania was actually not unified and internal disputes were rife. thus, in order to gain the upper hand Vlad Tepes used any means to deter the enemy. destroying their morale by creating a forest of staked people, night raids inside their camps, purging and poisoning the land to starve the enemy army etc. the best part: he was actually taught everything by the ottomans when he was a child, held captive and groomed to be one of the romanian lords under their thumb.
I’m so glad you checked out a video about my country! It is so beautiful, extremely friendly people all around, and gorgeous scenery! And of course, we keep traditions alive here, it’s no wonder why Romania has been called “the last true medieval scenery left in Europe”! It’s so refreshing seeing someone enjoying Romania! overall it's a good video (the one you watched) and it's done by a professional team, it stirs emotions here and there, but I gotta say it's a bit dated by now and, as most of these, a bit limited. Even in broad lines, it shows a bit about Bucharest and a fraction of Transylvania and obviously, there's much more to the country.

A little superficial the original video. I.e. the actual name of "Vlad the Impaler" was Vlad Draculea, member of the Draco order (Order of the dragon). And the link between Bran Castel and Vlad is that Vlad was imprisoned the for a short period. From here is just a language evolution from Draco (dragon) to dracul ( The Satan) and a good book (Dracula).
