- Genshin Impact Just Destroyed Wuthering Waves. Wit the release of Genshin 5.0, Genshin regains its title of the best Gacha on the market, at least from what we can see from the recent award it just won at Gamescom 2024. Genshin just won a huge game award. The best Mobile Game of 2024 at Gamescom. This lead to a lot of interesting responses on twitter and reactions from bother sides, Fans from Hoyoverse as well as Kuro Fans. Genshin Drama hasn’t seemed to stop Hoyoverse from taking the W this year, despite everything that happened recently with Genshin.

Because WuWa runs on unreal engine while Genshin runs on Unity big difference, so it’s your device not the game
Yeah just say genshin is potato device friendly because it runs on an outdated engine (unity) while wuwa is more demanding when it comes to specs because it is using a more advanced engine. Look at the water and clouds of genshin and wuwa, the difference is day and night

All of this game tribalism is idiotic. The best case scenario for us players is all games being equally successful, meaning ZZZ / HSR / WuWA / GI all having a monthly revenue of 30m and above. The more competition exists, the more are the developers forced to innovate and introduce QoL or new mechanics. Without the release of ZZZ and WuWa we would not be getting the QoL-features or free stuff in GI. So, don't be that guy who wants all of the games except yours to fail. Instead be happy that the niche is filled with many competitors because that will directly lead to your game becoming much better much quicker.

personally endured 4 years of genshin, with various occasions where i felt like quitting (but narrowly didn't), but couldn't last 3 months on wuwa. it's just... worse in every way. combat is flashy but shallow, exploration sucks, characters are dull... and 4 star weapons and characters are so much worse than 5 stars that they're unusable. people say wuwa is more generous but i highly disagree. genshin gives less wishes but you can live off f2p stuff, because the balancing is good, they're not as good as 5 stars, but they're more than good enough. on wuwa, the 4 stars weapons are worse than 3 star weapons on genshin, and that's not even including the powerful ones like TTDS and the crit ones.
my favorite thing about wuwa was that there was hard content on the world with those infuriating holograms, i wish genshin had those. but meh, when the rest of the game sucks, there's no point. artifact farm is torture in wuwa, it's so much worse than in genshin and that's saying a lot because it's bad enough there.
i hate how wuwa has no melee range. everything moves around like dumbasses so much that even sword characters are ranged with some bs telekinesis to pretend that they use swords, also lots of unnecessary teleporting around, and flying around too, from both players and monsters. so much flashiness over substance. plus intro and outro skills are stupid, it locks you into a dumb tight way to play that is so inflexible that it could probably be automated with a bunch of those sipping bird toys on top of a keyboard
much prefer the more deliberate combat of genshin, even though it needs a severe difficulty increase at end game.

I think Kuro didn't participate because they didn't have anything to show at this year gamescom, we will probably see them during the Tokyo game show that going to happen between September 26/29 as it within 1 week of the 1.3 to build up hype for the big story patch, great video none of the less 👍

Who cares if Genshin won the best mobile game? let Kuro do their job and that is it, the same way Hoyo has their job to do. Some people prefer Genshin, some prefer WuWa, and some like both. I think Genshin is good if you have been playing for years. Way too many characters to start now. Especially since some 4 stars need multiple dupes to function.

Im happy Genshin 5.0 is doing some good changes still its unfortunate they really took a long time to do it. Having some competition might have been the push they needed.
The stingy producer that held back HI3 with QoL and rewards and did the same to Genshin finally left to a different project. Da Wei's been handling Genshin the last 6 months.. which is when Genshin started improving.
