What a great apprentice project, I will forward this on but no listens to me since I retired! Keep up the education of the next generation. I had an instructor many years ago his catch phrase was" learn more to earn more" boy was he right!
I actually HAVE to make this hammer Monday for a 5th-axis self-centering and Kurt 6-inch! I sure hope no engineers drop other drawings on my desk first thing in the morning! They may just have to be delayed for unforeseen circumstances! As a mill man, I like that the whole thing is done on the mill. Our new lathe machinist isn't quite as approachable as our old one about using their lathe!
Hahaha Nathaniel, ill send you the mcam file to save you time if you want 😅
I appreciate it! But I think I'm wanna change the hex sizes and what not on the hammer. We run Fusion at our shop but seeing those tool paths in MasterCAM like Waterline I'd really like to try it out!
@@barrysetzer I would love the mcam file to reference as I am attempting to make this at my school in Maine ,!
You could price the hammer at $1,000 and still sell a bunch of them. Love the ending of this video.
@@barrysetzer if you still have the mcam file i would like to use it to show it off to my instructor. Thanks
You guys are amazing! Thanks for sharing all of your talent here.
programing the knurl on the heads to cut with the mill was a nice touch. Thanks for sharing. Charles
Yeah man, single point threadmill at 200ipm, good times!
Perfect timing. I just finished the 10m!! Thanks!!
I’ve been wanting to do a hammer for a while but have been putting it off... well looks like I’ll be doing one of these now. Really cool looking. Interesting looking tool paths as well. Thanks for sharing the model. Much love and gratitude
Thanks Troy! I think you saw this one on your tour 😂
@@barrysetzer I did and was hoping you put that in my bag lmao. Time to make one
i need to do a drawbar wrench, i figure i'll probably wedge it in there and a brass face for the other side and just make their handle. yea, i reckon that's what i'll do. yeh. cause i can't cut threads like that anyway. it's really sad looking in comparison. so i'll do a dovetail hammer face that will sling out and murder people on the side. and it'll be just as good.
It came out great. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Thanks for making these videos. They're informative and fun
Very cool use of a single point threadmill!
Great video guys! I love it!
Looks great!!! Greetings from Colombia! I'm an automation engineering student at the moment but we'll work together someday. Beautiful work as always!
Hello there I love CNC machines and the video's you guys post all the time
Haha awesome! Thanks for watching!!!
@@barrysetzer your welcome
Nice extras! ROFLMAO! I love you guys, your classes are superb!
Oh to be back in the shop again. Makes me wish I didn't retire!
This is great! I'll show this to my teacher and hopefully I will get to make one at school. I think we're missing some tools though.
Awesome video
Might actually make something like this at some point. Looks like a fun project.
Now that’s awesome!!
I came for the free shirt. I stayed for the “might get something a little more” 😂
😂😎
Very nice.
You guys are Awesome! Will probably do this little project as well.
it's always enjoyable en educational to watch your videos.
Thanks Dutch. Its all about education and awareness. Glad you liked the video
What that great video and great ending man 😂
We have see a very rare team members here Mr brixton and Mr Dave with a very funny scene 😂😂😂
Thank you man for this great video we love your clean work one day I will make my own hammer one , but nowadays I can't because these days are very hard for me 😅
Gotcha. Will be done by next week.
I like this hammer
I just made the 1-M block! Time to take it step by step until I can make this!
Nice work! Next version needs the hex on the end on the handle for those pesky 1/2-13 cap screws.
Make that YOUR version 😮
Sick af
Hey guys, I'm a student at Schuylkill
Technology Center and we're making this hammer in our shop for the graduating seniors. We were wondering what tools you guys used to make the hammer. If you guys can share that information that would be amazing.
This is cool
OK. I'm going to do it today!👍
Prove it 😂
@@barrysetzer Probably not, but I'll try😁
Nice workshop humor and awesome video. Berry you have properly seen to many Tv shop commercials but forgot the most important thing, that all Tv shop product shares a common beneficial thing that they can be stoved away under the bed :-). After the huge success with the hammer Titan need to change the logo slightly to include two hammers crossed beneath the eagle symbol.
Bwahaha i forgot that part
Stop calling me Berry 😂
did you make soft jaws for every position? the faces as well? i guess i'd know if i went to the CAD site and downloaded it wouldn't i? damn it.
Thats a good project only thing i would add to make this hammer not bounce back when used. ITs so simple just needs some empty space on core part of the hammer and add some sand to make it not bounce back. Its little more design work but it pays out. Also handle part ı prefer on wood because metal is cold wood is warm on touch. Or we can wrap some leather on handle.
That's a bad ass hammer!
When you flip the round caps over in the vise do you have to re-zero since the diameter is smaller and the center should be closer to the fixed jaw side?
No, i programmed it to make it easy
You could theoretically use the g54 and 55 work offsets to do so.
You guys are
noodle heads.
I love it.
What tool did you use for the knurl. I am going to make my apprentices make those in the CNC set up class.
I used a single point threadmill
Very interesting knerling method which tool path on mastercam does that
It was just a 3d contour path
So now I know what I'm going to be doing next week on my second shift at work. I just hope the boss doesn't come to see how the work is going 😂
Hahaha knuckle, do it! And you just might get something extra
Keen!!
It's Hammer time🔨
Love this hammer want to make this in my free time. Also did ypu know your tool probe was upside down? Lol
Bwahahaha good eye, a gopro hit it
I really like that strategy to mill knurls on the side of the part, does anyone know how to make these in Fusion 360 without 5 axis? Is there even a way?
Multipas threads
@@Hendreh1 already had a go at it and yeah, that actually works pretty well. Just gotta set the pitch to around the circle circumference. However, this only works for cylindrical parts. How would you do it on other surfaces?
For me, I'd choose a different material for the hammer body. Aluminum threads that take a beating just doesn't seem like a long term idea. Some sort of steel would probably be best.
Feel free to make it out of whatever you want. The model is made of pixels
Now that's cool
I wish I had a computer.
Can't use the one at work for "side" work
Hit me up ill send you the tool list and code
@@barrysetzer how do I send you my email?
@@fishsticks88 barry@titansofcnc.com
damm I want one!
I like like like 👍
I've never wanted access to a CNC so bad
Hahaha, i know a guy that has access
SOLD! 😆
😍😍😍
You are my favourite iron monster 🩶♾️🫶
🤗😂
Like it minus the finger grooves. Defeats the purpose of have 2 heads on 1 hammer having finger grooves on one side.
Killer
I would do it.... But im just starting with a lathe and i can't afford even a Chinese mini mill rn
Yesssssss Barrrryyyyyyy.... I'm gonna smash my steak with it & also the quinoa 😉. We all know how much you love quinoa!
Wth is quinn oh a? Sounds GROSS
hammer 🔨 i need new I use to run a mikino mill. small aircraft parts. Programed a lot
Where can I download a 3d model?
Academy.titansofcnc.com
@@barrysetzer thanks
hi Barry
Hey buddy!
Best Video Editing goes too>>>>>>>>>>
BRRRRRAXTON
I don't normally use a hammer when I'm beating on my parts...😏🇬🇧
I want one signed by you XD
Make one, and ill send you mine signed 😎
@@barrysetzer That sounds like a sweet deal!
Omg. That hammer is better than Thor hammer.
Good choice. Can create a fork type to scope out the nails.
A new marketing strategy.
Stop, Hammertime!
Lol i said the same thing
@@barrysetzer yeah i just noticed as well but i had to scroll a little bit to find your comment^^
A hammer with a metal handle? Brilliant! I wouldn't even take it for free.
Stop: HAMMER TIME
Great Job Barry… Now go get some sleep🙏
See ya tonight for Steaks and UFC.
Hahaha see ya later big dog!
do you ever get manual entries to your youtube contests? is that considered cheating? lol
I want one they won't let me make one at my shop 😞
Shoot me an email. Barry@titansofcnc.com
If anyone has the machines to make this, I would love to buy one in brass.
Where you based?
Lol on tool obsession!
FANMULTITOOOOOOOL)
Robodrill!! Why drill things when you can ROBOdrill things
this time, you only get a like because of the outro... just because the head is not designed to implement an anti-recoil mass 😉
Hahaha lets go Braxton
*cracks knuckles* time to hand program
OK, OK, OK. What"s it really cost?
For free? Just give email and password?
Not that kinda free 😂
How to make a hammer: Step 1) but a million dollar CNC machine. Step 2) program in a hammer. --I'm thinking it might be cheaper to buy one?
Bear with me: what if i made a skateboard, instead……skaterdude
@@barrysetzer Just fooling around, dawg. It's a very nice hammer... the sort you'd use if you were machining in space.
Stay tuned, i just might have a project thats right up your alley
@@barrysetzer :)
About you do it manually on a mill… that’d be so much more impressive
To who? Fred Flintstone?
LOL
A aluminum hammer really not heavey enough to use as a hammer or anything else
Make yours outta stainless then
@@barrysetzer nah I'm not a machinist and I don't have machinery im just saying that aluminum is too lite to be used as a hammer
$1000.
Instead of this hammer maybe you could find people with broken equipment that they can’t afford to fix it. Like farmers small machine shops automotive ect and make those parts. Just a suggestion.
So many brutal cuts... Way too many.
Brutal cuts is kinda my THING
Am busy at my shop right now can I just buy it 😂...bad ass boom 👊
