I honestly do not know if Suzy copied her design from Kimberly or not. What I do know is that I’ve created a near exact ring several years ago without ever seeing either of their designs/videos. Without ever seeing any wire tutorial of any kind. It is a simple concept that I thought would work so I tried it. Why is it so inconceivable that more than one person can come up with this same design? I understand if there was a lot of weaving and particular design elements, but there aren’t.
It’s a shame that Kimberlys fans flocked here to accuse Suzy of theft and fraud, then she came and publicly agreed. I’ve made this ring and variations for at least 10 years. 3,4 and even 5 beads. It’s pretty common design. I can’t understand why this was played out publicly, when private letter to Suzy would have been so much more civil and professional.

These manufacturers make huge sums of money, all of us buy or use these wheels at some point and I can't recall that any of these manufacturers ever giving credit or paying homage to the inventor of the wheel, each time they put our one. You all get my point and I hope so because what you are asking is for any whoever makes anything and even if it is always FREE and also is used to teach OTHERS, for them to google a concept first??? Naw, in this case, unless you can prove every post she has made copied someone else's doesn't even sound right, and to accuse this gracious woman of theft is kind of crazy, just so that she mentions your name for the design???? She would literally have to google everything she ever does to see if it has been attempted. That is Kimberly Newman’s business as of 14 year’s ago. She might have added a website last year, but there’s a lot of tutorials videos on her Facebook. This design was created a few years ago by Kimberly Newman. Her Facebook page is Kim’s Creative Designs, Bead Shop, check that out. No I won’t go way when someone is STEALING my friend’s design which was originally done a few years ago. I’m sure you’d defend your friend as well
@@charley408 I absolutely hate confrontation but I will stand up for myself and my work. I did this piece for Step By Step Wire magazine Vol 12 No.5 Oct - Nov. Issue 2016. I don't mind when people do my design. But I do get upset when people try to pass it off as their work. It happens way to often and it is wrong.
Why do you presume to think that Kimberly is the one that deserves the credit just because you saw it elsewhere years ago? Just because this UA-cam poster uploaded the video now does not mean that it was copied from someone else. This poster could have been doing this design years earlier than what you saw but just never posted it on line now. Additionally this is a simple design that many have already stated here and on Facebook that they came up with themselves.
Down to the letter you say?? Seen an ophthalmologist lately? SQUARE WIRE IS NOT THE SAME AS ROUND WIRE AND IT NEVER WILL BE. Pretty concerning... here you are thinking you have this *all* figured out when you really don't. Makes me wonder what *else* in your life is like that. The shorter answer very well could be what ISN'T like that in your life. I guess idiocy is sadly what being friends with butthurt Kimberly gets ya, Brandon. 😂
Oh I see why your panties are in a bunch. It is an individual you know. I look at jewelry in the magazines and make them for myself so I can enjoy the same style for less money. She is not stating this is "her original design" or that she intends on making large sums of money from it. But guess what? You mentioned your friend Kimberly Newman who did make a ring similar to this one in silver with a similar style so we ALL know she made it too. Thank you for your homage to your friend. The rosary was made in the 13th century, maybe you could go to all the videos of how to make a rosary and ensure that they pay homage to the original designer. Thankfully the gal who made this video is very calm and has stated she will give credit to people who have made this style ring. So put your dander down and go police jay walkers.
What makes you think it's Kimberly's design? I've accidently made a similiar looking ring does that mean I have to give your friend credit when I don't have the faintest idea who she is nor what she made? Of course not. It's my happy mistake and your friend has absolutely NO claim to my ring.
I truly love your designs but you really need to show ( especially beginner wire workers ) That you cover the end of the wires with your fingers when you cut them so that they do NOT fly up into your eyes or towards anyone else's.
@@SuzyWongStudio You do such beautiful work, I mean no offense but it can be very dangerous for those who do not know. I am looking forward to your next video.
@@rebeccablanton8718 I take it you've never heard of Karens. Check out Reddit to learn all about Karens who act like their queens when in reality they're just whiney toddlers.
@@amberm2777 Yes, this is designed by Kimberly Newman for a magazine a few years ago. It's not original and has been stolen by this person when the work and credit belong to Kim.
@@kimberlynewman6865 I'm just saying you can say it's your design, and if it is then she should list a credit with your name out of courtesy and being a good person. However, by law she doesnt have to nor is she breaking any laws.
I am really shocked to find my design that was featured in Step By Step Wire magazine a few years ago featured in your video and you taking credit for the design. No permission was given.
Jealousy always drives people crazy. What if SuzyWongStudio didn't copy your design, will you apologize? There are many similarities in artworks, unless you have registered a patent with IP authorities, then legally you can claim that someone has stolen your design patent, otherwise it will be calculated as defamation. I suggest SuzyWongStudio shall take legal action as well.
@@argowong7128 No jealousy here for I have already done this piece. Oct-Nov. Issue of Step By Step Wire magazine 2016. The only thing that was changed was the type of wire used. Everything else was exact copy of the original design. Mine was called Slightly Slanted Ring. You can look it up and decide for yourself please.
Beautiful but too bad this is a copyright design by Kimberly Newman!! Please respect other designers and give credit but do not copy and pretend it's yours. If you respect the original creator, remove the video!
Bianca van der Molen: Simply publishing the design in a magazine does NOT automatically make it copyrighted. That's something the designer needs to do herself, and if she's smart before she puts it out for public viewing. Copyright can protect the artwork, but not the technique unless it can be proven that you developed that, too. That requires another type of copyright. You should know that getting something copyrighted can cost thousands of dollars and as long as 2 years to be granted. Then there can be no doubt as to what came first; the chicken or the egg. Otherwise, we'll just keep seeing these debates over and over. Conversations which I might add, rarely end well if the offended party cannot prove copyright. My suggestion to all you wonderful designers is to educate yourself about your rights regarding copyright and trademark. It may serve you well in the long run. God's blessings on you all.
If you're going to do a video you need to give credit! This is not YOUR design. This video needs to come down. Your followers needs to know you're STEALING designs and making it SEEM like your own 🤬
It’s a tutorial. She’s never known the alleged artist that allegedly copyrighted this ring. Get a grip. She’s not making money off it! I’m so sick of Karen’s!!
Look at how inappropriately upset you are. I needed a good laugh like this so thanks I guess. STEALING! 😂 Have you ever heard of the word LIBEL? With a comment like yours, you just might experience its meaning *real* soon. Bummer, for you.
This design was stolen. How dare you! It is an original design by Kimbery Newman and featured in Step By Step Wire magazine a few years ago. No permission was asked and no credit given to her. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will be reporting it.
Really? No one else except some unknown person has ever made a wrap ring? Another person who's never heard of parallel developement. The only people who should be "ashamed" are you and others who are making false claims. You will now be reported yourself.
Actually how dare Kimberly, as her version of this ring was featured in a book printed in the 90s. For the record the only copy write she holds is on the article not the design. Beyond that, they do expire so if she didn’t update it she doesn’t even own that. In fact, the exact design Kimberly is claiming was hers, used to be provided in the children’s gum all machines for jewelry in the 80s and 90s. I have numerous ones. Plus I have a ring made by my grandmother whom died prior to 2006, made using the book the ORIGINALLY FEATURED this style of ring. Beyond that, legally speaking, Suzy changed enough of the design for it not to infringe on any intellectual property rights. I have never heard of this Kimberly Newton chick but from where I stand she is no better than that loser that waits for parents to expire so he can’t file for them and she wire work artists. Hopefully he hits Kim next and she can’t fight him over who owns what, since she clearly lacks full understanding of the laws. ;)
@@charley408 if it is copyrighted you sure can. Copyrights grants monopoly protection for "original works of authorship".[1][2] With the stated purpose to promote art and culture, copyright law assigns a set of exclusive rights to authors: to make and sell copies of their works, to create derivative works, and to perform or display their works publicly. These exclusive rights are subject to a time limit, and generally expire 70 years after the author's death or 95 years after publication. So it has been made and published and is therefore copyrighted and belongs to Kimberly Newman
It's only "stolen" in your mind Laura. This is Suzy's independent design. If Kim made something similar then good for her but you have not right to make false claims.
Thanks!

Nice
But I just don’t like any music in the videos, would rather concentrate on the items your making.
This design was done a few years back by Kimberly Newman and published in a magazine. Please give credit to Kim Newman!
It's not her design for pete's sakes. Wrap rings can be similar and doesn't mean it can only be made nor designed by one person. Get a clue.
I have reported every single person who came here solely to harass you.
I seen this design a few years back from Kimberly Newman down to the letter in design. I don’t see any credit given as well.
@Carmen Alonso Thank you 💕💕
Kimberly who? Never heard of her.
@@OutOfHereSoon because I’ve seen the design years ago that’s why.
I have seen this design before, years ago by a local artist I know, Kimberly Newman. I don’t see any credit given 🤔
Oh I see why your panties are in a bunch.
Thank you 💕💕
Thank you 💕💕
I made this same design in 1987 when I reused a spring.. should Kim give me credit?
I truly love your designs but you really need to show ( especially beginner wire workers ) That you cover the end of the wires with your fingers when you cut them so that they do NOT fly up into your eyes or towards anyone else's.
Thank you for your advice💕💕
@@SuzyWongStudio You do such beautiful work, I mean no offense but it can be very dangerous for those who do not know. I am looking forward to your next video.
Thank you Deby💕💕
@@SuzyWongStudio Your very welcome !
Anyone who's wrapping should be wearing eye protection. A person using hand tools at all should wear safety glasses.
This is a Kimberly Newman design. I don't see any credit given for that.
NOT. HER. DESIGN.
NEWP. WRONG.
Seems this design is not an original one for Suzy Wong Studios.....seems it has been pilfered from Kimberly Newman Design
Pilfered?? Read the other comments before flat out accusing people of a crime. Ok Karen? WTH
@@PeacefulHeart12 Karen?? You must have mis-hit the keys in your reply. My name is Rebecca.....
@@rebeccablanton8718 that’s funny cause you sound like the epitome of a Karen. 🤷🏻♀️
@@rebeccablanton8718 I take it you've never heard of Karens. Check out Reddit to learn all about Karens who act like their queens when in reality they're just whiney toddlers.
@@rebeccablanton8718, she meant Karen. Promise.
People should NOT take credit for someone else's work
Care to elaborate instead of making cryptic messages and bold accusations? Most designs have been done before....
@@amberm2777 Yes, this is designed by Kimberly Newman for a magazine a few years ago. It's not original and has been stolen by this person when the work and credit belong to Kim.
@@laurahaughey I dont really see her saying it is her design.
@@charley408 It is my design, I did not give permission nor was I asked for this video to be made.
@@kimberlynewman6865 I'm just saying you can say it's your design, and if it is then she should list a credit with your name out of courtesy and being a good person. However, by law she doesnt have to nor is she breaking any laws.
This is a Kimberly Newman Design and it is copyrighted. Please give her credit.
Have you not seen all the comments oh hall monitors? We get the picture and I don’t care!
No it isn't. Please try to claim all wrap ring designs are hers and hers alone.
I am really shocked to find my design that was featured in Step By Step Wire magazine a few years ago featured in your video and you taking credit for the design. No permission was given.
Yeah Suzy, what's up with this?? I'm reporting you.
I don't read any wire magazine.
@@argowong7128 It is a copyrighted piece. So even if she 'made up' the design, it is still copyrighted.
Beautiful but too bad this is a copyright design by Kimberly Newman!! Please respect other designers and give credit but do not copy and pretend it's yours. If you respect the original creator, remove the video!
WRONG.
Thank you 💕💕
If you're going to do a video you need to give credit!
@@PeacefulHeart12 I agree. So many people screaming about simple design that's been done by many artists.
Hope you can swim in your self-made river. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Who is Kimberly Newman?
Hopefully he hits Kim next and she can’t fight him over who owns what, since she clearly lacks full understanding of the laws. ;)

@@katcamp2419, can Kimberly be sued for libel over all this mess she created?
This is a Kimberly Newman design. No credit given to her. That’s not right!
Why should Suzy give credit to a person she's never heard of for a design Suzy came up with?
This is stolen. Kimberly Newman designed this for a magazine and her original work is not credited.
You cant "steal" a design silly.
@@charley408 You can and she did.
I don't know who is Kimberly Newman.
