Your instruction is so precise and up close making it easier to follow. Good job!
You are an excellent teacher. I’m excited to try this out. My wire wrapping is not great. This gives me the confidence to keep trying. I’d like to add some gemstones, but the gauge might be too big. Thanks for your help. Love your channel.
I love the way you made this ring so gently and carefully done! The last video I watched was not good for me! Could not follow the pattern as well as yours!!! You are a great teacher and very special person! Thank you for your patience and confidence!! Katrina Phillips look for more of your teaching!!

You "manhandled the mandrel"! Cool ring design Abbi!
Thanks! I was thinking it would be cool to enamel the front part in a cool color to make it look more like knitted yarn.

Thanks!
Made one with you on the fly with electrical cooper coated wire! Cool!
Very cool!
New sub and I'm looking forward to more great tutorials!
Thanks so much!
I noticed you said it was like a knit stitch but it’s actually a macrame knot. I wouldn’t have thought of doing a ring like that, it’s cute.
That's beautiful! I'm just starting out in copper jewelry making..this I think I can start with..well I'm gonna give it a good try!
Really good and interesting
Will watch again.
Thank you!
I just happened to see your vid link and was intrigued by the design of this ring. Your instruction is very clear and the ring seems doable! I'll definitely try this. BTW, just subscribed to see more of your handiwork.

Very VERY thorough video! Thank you! Haven’t tried it yet but I am. Need to purchase some copper. Only have gold silver and rose gold
I really like this, just buy them kit, ;) happy.
Thank you
Thank you so much!
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
I find that using my crimp pliers to squash down that last wrap gives a very tight, smooth end to those coil wraps.
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful video and what a very pretty young lady you are. From trial and error as a person that had carpal surgery on both wrists I learned that you do not have to start the knots at the bottom for extra pulling but that you can start then right under the previous knot. A crimping tool also works great for tucking those wires after cutting them.. (Great cleaner for copper) I work mainly with copper and it turns like silver does..I use 1/2 cup white vinegar and a tablespoon of salt, stir then drop your piece in and viola ! Almost instantly a new penny shine and if you have glass beads or stones it also sanitizes them..then just rinse and dry well. The long pieces that you are cutting off make great french ear wires also...Thank you for your demonstration.
Thanks for your input!
Thank you😁❤️
Thank you so much.....This is the best wire ring Design I’ve seen .....could a stone or bead be added anywhere ...and if so could you show us...also would like to see your annealing demo that you mentioned...great demo and close enough so we can really see ....thank you🤗
Thank you so much! I appreciate it! I’m sure you could find a way to incorporate a bead in the center but it would take some playing in order to figure it out. I’ll have to do a technical video on annealing sometime soon!
@@AbbiBerta yea please show us how to do annealing :)
It's like very pretty 😍
🙏😇
Thanks!
So very pretty!
Thanks!
Your tute was really good. You took it slow, kept everything in front of the camera instead of out of camera range. This makes me want to try it. I’ll watch again! Thanks
Thanks so much! We’re working with new equipment right now but I think we’re starting to get the hang of it.

Cool
Thanks!
I love this! If I didn't want to do the annealing process, could I just use dead soft copper wire and dip in liver of sulfur to give it the same effect? I really like the design, regardless. Thank-you for sharing.
Yep! Definitely! Annealing the wire makes it dead soft so you’d be a step ahead if you started with dead soft wire. Thanks!
Did you make the silver ring you ware? If so I would love to see how it’s made🥰
I did! We have a video tutorial for it that was posted to our channel about a month ago!
I'm only about 7 minutes in so you may address this later in the video and, if so, I'm sorry for being preemptive. But I'll ask now before I forget. Have you tried making this with a softer wire and then work-hardening after the knots are made? Maybe just with a leather mallet so as not to flatten the work too much? I'm just wondering if there is a work-around for those of us with way less hand strength, and, well just overall strength? I know that the two pliers technique is effective, but even that maneuver requires a fair amount of pulling strength.
Hi Kim! I did explain in the video that this is fully annealed wire. That means it is very soft. It’s only 20 ga. so it’s pretty easy to work with. I usually do the knots with just my hands with no problems. I show using the pliers to pull the tail ends in the video as just an option for folks who don’t have much strength in their hands however most of my students have been able to easily work this project without additional assistance. As the wire is knotted it work hardens enough that hammering or tumbling isn’t necessary. I’ve yet to have anyone need it, but if the wire work hardens too much while it is being worked, and it just gets too hard to bend, you can always go back in and anneal it to soften it back to its original state. Hope this helps!
@@AbbiBerta Thanks for the tips! This is a lovely design!
Could you do the pattern all the way around the ring? Gonna try this now!! Very clear instructions...
I don’t see why not! Thank you!
I'm wondering, to maintain uniformity of the ring loop sizes, if you could've used those bits of scrap wire you trimmed off initially to hold the two loops of the ring together, while you finish your coils, by wrapping them in a couple of places?
Great idea! Give it a shot! Thanks for watching!
I like to ring you are wearing now the silver one did you make that if so can you show us how
Thanks! I did! The process is a little bit more involved that I usually like to get in my tutorial videos but I'll consider it!
I love that ring as well and would love to see the tutorial too. Thank you!
What kind of wire is that? Also, where do you get a buffer pad like that? Love your tutorial thanks!
Love the pretty design. You do beautiful work. But will it turn your finger green? Is there something you can coat it with to prevent that? Did you know you can crochet wire?
Thanks! It could turn your finger green if you have acidic skin and if you don’t coat it. You could use a clear coat of something over the top of it or Ren Wax. I did know that, thanks! We actually teach wire crochet classes here at our store. Our instructor, Jenni Swartz is pretty famous for it and we’re so lucky to have her.

I need to find out how to use a butane lighter you said to make the copper softer? Because the 20g copper I have is not going to move like that so easily.
We're working on an annealing tutorial right now so stay tuned!
Hi, Abbi. What flush cutters did you use when making this ring? Thanks.
OMG I love it. That is so cool but I got to ask. Don't your hands hurt after all that pulling, lol? It's truly a beautiful piece.
Thank you! Nope! If I make a handful of them, I can sometimes start to feel it but with just one, no. My hands are pretty strong from working with tools and metal my whole life so that helps but I think the number one reason is that the wire is thin gauge and it’s annealed so it’s pretty soft. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Abbi ..I have enjoyed your tutorial,,please tel me the kind of copper wire you r using is there a plastic coating on it like so many have today?
Hi Abbi, how do you burn it exactly? Thank you
It's a process called annealing. Basically you heat it until it glows red which realigns the metal molecules into a more flexible structure. I'll consider doing an in depth video on annealing in the future. It's definitely one of my favorite metal processes.
I am quite a beginner at ring making, do you think that this would be quite easy?
Yep! This is definitely a great beginner project as long as you make sure you’re working with soft wire!
Beautiful, where can i buy the polish pad?
Whoops! I forgot that link! Thanks! www.beadplace.net/apps/webstore/products/show/2985225
Thank you :).
I am a new subscriber - and looking forward to watching more on your UA-cam Video Channel. ❤️ What is the name of the polishing cloth that you are using in this tutorial? Thank you in advance. 🌹
Thanks for subscribing! Here is the link to the polishing pads: www.beadplace.net/apps/webstore/products/show/2985225
Good
I tried about 5 times to make this ring. I get about 3 done and it then it just doesn't work.
I like your project but have to say that I was getting a bit queasy with the constant motion of the camera. Maybe pull back a little and keep it still from the beginning? I am glad that it didn't stay that way. I look forward to watching more of your tutorials. A friend suggested your channel to me so am excited to continue learning from you.
Hi Mimi! I’m just getting around to responding to UA-cam messages and I know we spoke via FB but I didn’t want to let this comment go unanswered so thanks again for your kind messages, suggestions, and support!
