Watches are not considered a commodity because they are not standardized products that are interchangeable with each other. A commodity is a raw material or primary agricultural product that is traded based on its price and quality, rather than on any distinctive features. Watches, on the other hand, can have unique designs, features, and brand identities that differentiate them from one another, making them more akin to luxury goods than commodities. Furthermore, watches can have sentimental or personal value, further distinguishing them from commodities.

I tend to agree. Easily one of the most innovative watches of this last decade. Stay tuned, on Monday we have a Lange video I'm sure you'll really enjoy 😁🙌
Vc is so underrated, I think with the overseas I like it better than Patek and AP, 3 different strap that amazing case back. The watch is clean, classy, robust it does it all
@@bobmemer9062 I'd say probably a 7. It's definitely a luxurious product which requires slightly more care but has no problem holding up to the bumps and shocks of everyday wear 😁👍
@@MarcoFerranteWatches I like the Overseas because it's part of the holy trinity, prestigious, very lowkey, subtle watch, the caseback is amazing, different strap options, some unique / rare, you mean business. But I am concerned that if I do get one I might "baby it" because it is a luxury watch. I like the Submariner because of how durable and robust it is. With the reputation of Rolex and the Submariner I know it won't fail me in any condition. I can bang it around and know it will hold up, I don't know if I can say that about the Overseas. A couple things I don't like about the Submariner is that it is everywhere, and most copied watch, and tend to be the stereotype of "is it real". I feel like it is attached to the Submariner
I was missing JLC in the ‘holy 3’ discussion a lot. As IMHO JLC is at least as important as those three. The 101 is still the smallest calibre in the world. And some of their jewelry watches are really outstanding!
Great episode as always. Thanks and greetings from Germany! I love AP, PP and VC...owned an AP scuba limited edition and loved it. I also own a few Rolex models which I also love because of their wearability and reliability. Having said this I really think that A. Lange and Breguet deserve to be in the spotlight more often. I bought the Saxonia outsize date last year and am amazed by the quality and movement every time I look at it. I realise that most people are now into sport models but with production numbers of only 7000 pieces per year I don't understand how A. Lange is still selling under retail (except for the steel Odysseus of course)...
Small correction: ALL VC FiftySix have the Geneva Seal EXCEPT the Selfwinding. So the entire line is with seal and only one single model does not have it….just saying….
Only just discovered this recently myself. I think it's a bit of an unfortunate situation - most people probably feel (as I did) that the 56 range represents a step down in quality.
@@RandomPopcorn88 yes mostly VC does it to keep costs down as its meant to be accessible to a younger demographic. But the quality is still excellent despite not having a Geneva Seal and using a Cartier movement 😁👍
Speaking of using celebrity ambassadors, PP never had and never will pay famous people to endorse their brand. They also do not sponsor any major sporting events or sports teams. That’s how PP differentiate itself from RM and AP.
