Thanks so much, Greg! I really appreciate that! I wish these were permanent upgrades for production. My buddy, Zach, helped me with shooting the first part of this. We only got through part of the price before he had to leave.
Glad to see you de-magnetized the old barn wood! 😂 (discovering a nail with your saw or planer truly sux). Really liked how you kept the milling marks and accented them with the white paint! Nice build! Oh, and you have a stalker in your bushes filming you.... :)
I was going to do that, but I had a little bit of material left, so I just cut and planed another piece. It was the better move with this stuff. I wouldn't have been able to disguise the Domino very easily.
Looks great Bruce. That white paint method really makes those saw marks pop. Awesome quality in the filming and editing. Keep up the great work. Your content just keeps getting better.
0:50 What is that wand you're using? Also I dig the music tracks you're using... 4:00 You said it's a Domino jig but I didn't see any pizza? Smart blocking out the license plate with your head. Was that on purpose? Looks awesome Bruce! Wouldn't change anything at all...
That was a metal detector. This was some old barn wood and I didn’t want to have the surprise of finding a nail with a saw blade. No pizza on this one. Ha ha. That was totally NOT on purpose with the license plate. Didn’t even notice u til you mentioned it! Thanks so much, Stephen!
Looks good, I like the length of the back panel, it definitely improves on the standard towel hanger. Just a tip on the domino though, Supposedly your cutters will last a lot longer if you have a vacuum hooked up, it keeps them cooler. Can't verify that for myself yet though I haven't had mine long enough yet
love the look. my only "thing" is that the unit sits off the wall the thickness of the cleat right? personally, i would've maybe done something along the edges that would hide that gap. Still great though! 👊🏻
Thanks, Seth! Yeah, I thought about changing it up. I ended up liking how it looked like it had a reveal but another option I was considering was getting one of the metal cleats you can buy. They’re much smaller profile. I could have also routed out a big cavity in the back and made it sit down flush but chose not to.
The milling marks make the piece, just shows you that wood doesn't need to be fully milled. maybe the next could be a sho sugi bon (sp)(too lazy to look it up) kinda finish with the white and the char. That would look cool.
Looks awesome, I think either a built in speaker or built in phone charger would have also been neat, I always am looking for a place to set my phone when I’m in the shower so that shelf would be perfect! I also loved your F Style Hammer!
I dig it! Shelf looks great Bruce!
Appreciate it!
Love the white on the saw marks!
That was one of my favorite parts!
But if you HAD used dowels to put the back together, you could have called it a Dowel-back Towel Rack. Missed opportunity. UNSUBSCRIBE. 😂
ha ha. Man, I have made so many mistakes.
Great video! Love the rustic saw marks
Thank you! That's one of my favorite parts too!
I love your take on such a common object! It looks amazing, great job!
Thank you very much! I was trying to come up with something a little different and I think this was the ticket.
Love those milling marks! And the Harbor Freight Clamp Hammer! Turned out great, Bruce. What a nice-looking upgrade! And nice job, Alan! :)
Alan will get a kick out of that when I tell him. Yeah, the Harbor Freight Clamp Hammer is one they should market more. ha ha. Thanks, Drew!
Great towel shelf there Bruce, came out very pretty
Thanks so much! I’m really pleased with how the white accents turned out!
Great Build!
Thank you!
Looks great Bruce. I like the longer apron. The camera work looked great too. Looks like you've been making some production upgrades!!!

Ha ha. Yeah, gotta get those nails! Ahhhhh!!!! I’m scared now that you’ve pointed out people are watching me. LOL
Those bandsaw marks just look awesome. I've got a gal who i'm working on quote for a coffee table with that look.
Very cool! Just another instance of parallel thinking, I guess.
Love the look of the paint and the saw marks! Nice job!
Thank you! I love that part too!
The editing on this video is awesome! Way to up your game!!!!
Thanks so much, Scott!
that's a really cool distressed look. The hangers definitely tie it all together. Nice work Bruce!
Thanks so much! Those hangers are really reasonably priced for how nice they are.
Nice piece!! But I also liked the way you shot the video with the travelings and the speed ups and the slow downs... it was a pleasure to watch! 😊
Thank you very much! I put a lot into the editing so that means a ton!
Great project and video Bruce! I really like how you used the spray paint to create that cool look!
Thanks so much, Ethan! That did give it a neat look...I love those old tool marks.
Good tip on the brush trick!!!
Oh, glad it helped! Thanks!
Hey Bruce, awesome work!
It looks amazing!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it!
That's really cool....Nice job..
Appreciate that, Mike! I like how far down the wall it extends.
Man looks great! Love the look and simplicity of it!
Thanks so much! I think the simple white tones really add to the look and especially in that bathroom where it will live.
Awesome video Bruce!!! That turned out amazing!!! Love how the saw marks look.
Is that the new Harbor Freight hammer-clamp you were using? 😂😂
Thanks so much! You know it is! Ha ha. It’s a tool that more should be talking about.
Nice project! Curious how you fixed the domino goof? Did you just plug with with a domino?
I was going to do that, but I had a little bit of material left, so I just cut and planed another piece. It was the better move with this stuff. I wouldn't have been able to disguise the Domino very easily.
Looks great Bruce. That white paint method really makes those saw marks pop. Awesome quality in the filming and editing. Keep up the great work. Your content just keeps getting better.
Hey Shane! Thanks so much! I really like how the white paint accentuated the saw marks on the wood.

Love how the white accents the saw marks. Great technique!
Thanks so much, Chris! I really like that part too!
nice work, great to see something new from something old
Thank you very much! I love repurposing stuff!

Yeah, I think you're right about the extractor. I'll have one here soon enough.
love the look. my only "thing" is that the unit sits off the wall the thickness of the cleat right? personally, i would've maybe done something along the edges that would hide that gap. Still great though! 👊🏻

Nice Job Bruce! Look out Quentin... Here Comes Alan👍
Ha ha. Yes! He’ll be happy to hear that!
Wrapping the brush in a zip lock or plastic grocery bag can do the same thing.
Good to know!
Nice video Bruce. I need to get me one of those mallet clamps. Nice camera work Alan!
Thank you very much! Alan rocked it for sure! Yeah, those hammer clamps are priceless. ha ha
Really unique. Love it!!
Thanks, mom! ;)
> "DIY" in the title
> pulls out the Domino
I still did it myself. That’s what DIY means. It doesn’t have to be some arbitrary simple thing that you think has to include pocket holes.
Very cool project Bruce - really like how you accented the patina with the white paint.
Thanks so much, John! I like how the white paint turned out too!

Oh, that would be cool! Not sure how it would work...maybe it's time for an experiment.
Looks awesome, I think either a built in speaker or built in phone charger would have also been neat, I always am looking for a place to set my phone when I’m in the shower so that shelf would be perfect! I also loved your F Style Hammer!
Oh man, mistakes were made on my part. That would have been cool to have a charger in there! Yeah, the F Style hammer works great! ha ha
Rock on Alan...rock on Mr. U.
Appreciate it, Jeff! He did a great job, but I need him to hold the camera up higher next time. I look like a giant! ha ha
Great job Bruce. I always love the look of the mill marks. Glad you were able to keep them
Thank you! I really like how those saw marks could stay on there.
Loved that the French cleat and spacer gave it just a little reveal when mounted. That’s a really nice detail.
I was kind of lamenting that it was off the wall a little bit. Didn't even think about it having a reveal. Thanks!
The aesthetics of the saw marks on that piece are insane. That towel rack looks awesome.
Thanks so much! I love those saw marks too!
Nice!
Thanks so much!
I’m looking to do some audio upgrades and curious on what mic you use. Keep up the great content!
I have the Rode Wireless Go. I'll link it up in the description, if you want to check it out. Using my link helps me a bit!
Bruce A. Ulrich thanks I’ll check it out!
