I had good luck with Elmer’s probond wood filler. I also picked up a tip from bourbon moth that made a good difference on my last couple painted projects. Ask the store to tint the primer close to the paint color. My local Home Depot hasn’t charged me either time to tint it, and it def helped with coverage and if it was showing through after my second coat it was not noticeable. You’re closet is coming along great!
I'll have to check out the Elmer's one. I don't think I saw it at my Lowe's when I grabbed this stuff. I do need to tint the primer next time. That would help a lot. And an airless sprayer would have been way faster.
I have found spackle to work a lot better. I bought crawford's painters putty and applied it per the instructions, but after it dried it shrunk in all my holes.
So many great little tricks - love the caulk popsicle stick trick!
I didn't come up with that, but I'll definitely be using it from now on. It worked great! I used so much less caulk than I typically do.
Really well done, Bruce! It's looking better every time! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much! Appreciate that.
COming along nicely! I really like the light gray you picked.
I like timbermate wood filler. You can thin it if you need to with water.
Thank you! It’s a hard color to get to show right in camera. My only thing with Timbermate is it really stinks.

@@BruceAUlrichI agree. I heard you talking about it on the podcast and I started laughing. Definitely have been there

That’s kind of the issue I had. It seemed to shrink. I’ll try spackling next time.
8:33 is the most nerve racking part of painting. Did it hold the line? Did it Bleed? Will we have to touch up? Nice work Bruce!
Yes...all of those things were running through my head. ha ha. Thanks!
