  • Hey Guys - So I honestly believe everyone regardless of their faith should read the Diary of St Faustina. In my opinion she was a modern day prophet. Watch this video for the perfect example of why we need to be obedient even when it does not make sense.

    Thanks Katherine, I needed to hear this. I am one of those aforementioned single women in her late twenties who’s never been in a relationship. I wonder sometimes if I keep missing God’s promptings in this regard, but I am going to patiently and obediently wait on the Lord in this.

    Excellent! So accurate. I too have read the Diary over and over. I had to purchase another one as my original was falling apart, having used it so much.

    Thanks Katherine. I really love this video. Obedience to God is such an important topic in today’s world. More people need to be encouraged and motivated to obey God’s will, especially in public.

    Thanks Katherine! Just stumbled across your video and thanks so much for sharing this story 🙏 It particularly struck me where Jesus might be calling me to act / try something new even though I might feel unsure of the outcome, a little afraid or it doesn't doesn't turn out as hoped - but to take a step and trust in Him and His goodness.

    Waiting on the Lord is so crucial in our spiritual walk. Heard a beautiful quote which says “The most delicious food is often cooked over a slow fire for a long time”. When the wait is long the gift is even more beautiful.

    Obedience is so important. I feel like being pliable to the LORD is a very a important quality so that he who formed us can shape us in to what he wants us to be not what we want to be. "does the pot say back to the potter, why have you formed me such?"

    Awesome topic and a great commentary 👍❤ St Theresa of Avila, in her book The Way of Perfection talks about obeisance too. Very much moved by the experience of St Faustina. I haven't read her diary yet. This video is certainly a reminder to me to get a copy and read it.

    Obedience is so important.
    I do my best to be obedient to Christ. Yet sometimes there are things that I still want MY way, and that's not even conscious.
    I try to uproot these things as soon as I'm aware.
    He asks me for obedience. And patience, and trust.
    It's hard, my husband is not fully converted yet. He sees the worth in the faith, he sees the good in it, but can't believe yet.
    I reconverted after 20years of agnosticism. We had a legal marriage for 18years, and 2children. My husband agreed to let the children be baptised last year, and he agreed to get the sacrament of marriage in april. He goes to Church every sunday with us, and feels it does him good.
    But he needs time, and I need to be patient and trust the Lord. It is so hard to not fret about my wonderful gift of a husband, because I see him hurting physically and mentally. And it would hurt so much less if he could believe.
    And I need to be patient as the Lord is patient, and just love him, and love the Lord.
    Huh, writing this I just realized, this is my cross to bear atm. And I did not bear my cross willingly...
    Oh I still have so much to learn. Christ have mercy

    Thank you Katherine for this video, waw!! obedience! a very double edged sword, it led to salvation like the obedience of our holy mother during the annunciation and our lord in the way of the cross, or lead to heaven and sainthood like the obedience to God and his holy church, or can lead to disasters and wars and genocides and then to hell, like the obedience to certain political party or leader or ideology.

    Ladies, if you're 30 and unmarried, the odds are that you chose it. By the cumulative sum of 1000 forks in the road, you chose it.

    • @CatholicKatherine
      @CatholicKatherine  10 місяців тому +2

      Rude and Wrong! Ladies, if you have been striving for holiness and following the will of God, God is working on you and your future husband. He is asking you to wait in this loneliness and sometimes you will be misunderstood by people. They will say you chose it, when you have been continuously on dating apps and attending events hoping to meet someone. God is asking you to preserve. Go to daily mass and be as close to Jesus as you can. Tune out these awful people who love to criticize you online but would never say this to your face. You did not choose it!

      @@CatholicKatherine if they have a career, then they know what it is to convince someone to give you something you want.
      Funny how I never hear women say they're "waiting on God" got the job or career.
      I'd say this to your face, if we were together in person.

    • @CatholicKatherine
      @CatholicKatherine  10 місяців тому +2

      It’s funny you never hear people tell men, if you’re 30 and single it’s your fault. Maybe they focused too much on their career and not enough on going out and meeting women.
      Also what? If a woman is a nurse and single, she has a career - what does that have to do with convincing someone to give them what they want? As someone who has lost their job twice due to the company going under I have waited on God a lot for a job. I’ve prayed for a job.
      I don’t believe you. You are hiding behind a computer and do not have a picture of yourself in your avatar.

    • @adamwalker2377
      @adamwalker2377 10 місяців тому

      @@CatholicKatherine that is exactly what we are told. "Work on yourself, bro."
      So you're a nurse. That means that you decided that's what you wanted, found out what suppliers of that thing wanted from you, spent years and thousands of dollars (and your youth) acquiring those skills, put yourself in front of several suppliers, and then picked the best option.
      And then you faithfully submitted to and supported the goals of that supplier, even when you didn't feel like it.
      Why didn't you do that with a man?
      I'm betting you met a viable, good man 10 years ago, but you were "working on your career" or "weren't ready to settle down".

    • @CatholicKatherine
      @CatholicKatherine  10 місяців тому +2

      That's exactly what women are told, Work on yourself and serve others. Which I do everyday. It is actually good advice!
      Nope! Not true! First off I am not a nurse this was an example. Second, what? your agrument makes no sense. "Faithfully submitted to and supported the goals of that supplier, even when you didn't feel like it?" What makes you think I have not done that for my ex boyfriends? I have been ready to settle down for more then 10 years. I have always wanted to be a mom with a lot of kids and never had any interest in a career, but I have not met a man that wanted to settle down with me. Ex boyfriends have never worked out, and it hurts. It really hurts to have had this ache on my heart since highschool, but I will continue to serve God and strive for holiness.
      I think you have been listening to some talking points that do not apply to relgious women - we all wanted to get married young and have kids, but unfortunatley it has not worked out for us yet.
