One of my favourite "new" artists! (I'm almost 60 so anything after 2000 feels new to me!)
Haven't had this feeling since Cocteau Twins in high school. Marvelous. Thank you.
Shout out to the bass player. Groovy!
Aw sweetheart - thank you for being honest with us about the tragedy and finding your path forward. We all need to remember how hard these things are.
As I have personally experienced with tragedy - and as I tell my students at university - it's not the obstacles, it's the persistence. And most of all, it's the love. You stopped your degree to take care of a dying parent? Then that's what you do.
Her heart felt crying made this a beautiful interview.
Great drummer.
Cheryl Waters keeps looking younger every time i see her.
God bless and God bless kexp❤
And protect Cheryl Waters at all costs. This lady is made of pure gold 💚
This is such soulful music. Pure light. Love this session so much!
I am so happy that I found this by chance.
Cheryl Waters is THE MOST gentle and honestly kind person in kexp. She's absolute gold ❣️ im so happy you found it
Always great to hear a London accent; lived half my life there, great music mate! And thanks for the good cry at the end to wash it all down.
That bass!!! Sounds awesome.
Gawd, I’ve been watching this show for many, many episodes, but this… this hit different. ❤
I’ve been a die-hard fan of so many great guests, but hearing the beautiful work on this record, and then HOW it came together.
New fan. Thank you KEXP.
Beautiful.
her voice is truly heavenly. Nabihah Iqbal, so glad to have you making music!
Weeb
@@DamTheKid yeah
once again, thanks for introducing this wonderful artist to me. kexp forever
nice thx
😢😌 i loved how she opened up so beautifully thank you
Unusual to see a Pakistani lady fronting a band; and what a band. Bravo. Love the tunes, love the bass especially. Carry on!
Incredible full hearted music! Appreciate the authentic heartfelt sharing. The depth of the music was transformed from a place of loss and uncertainty. Grandad shared important wisdom. I'm just learning about their music and its the deep medicine.
Your angels got you here to this point and your beautiful music will carry you forward. Thank you for sharing your music and life.
It's nice to meet you Nabihah
I have just replayed Gentle Heart 3 times, beautiful stuff.
So that's where Buddy Guy's strat went!
Great show, thanks.
What an awesome mix! 🙏🙏🙏❤😍❤🎶🎵🎸🎵🎶🎙🎶🎵🎸🎵🎶🙏🙏🙏❤
That Bass, and everything has a super cool vibe
You can feel the happiness emanate even through her hardships, such a wonderfully infectious personality
Just so beautiful!!! love, Love, LOVE this! had to watch it several times
So Cocteau Twins. Loved it
Steteolab too for me 😊
Yes indeed, and This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance and even a bit of Flock of Seagull's (guitar at some moment) but without Paul Reynolds touch...which would be great for a crecendo on some of the song. Anyway, Great music and a nice discovery for me today.
Takes me to Lush and Pale Saints. It's endearing how we namecheck their influences...I hope 🙂
My god here is one lovely artist that once again I never even knew existed. Heavenly tuneage! 😊
MashaAllah
A True Creative Spirit .... spreading her wings , soaring and sharing her Joy and Bliss
Thanks iqbal from my deeps I enjoy the masterpiece
fantastic!!! love her
Cocteau Twins, Dead can Dance i love
Gorgeous and beautiful piece of music , thanks .
Wow,i love it good music .
❤Like it ,so wenn i listen this 4 the first time, i know that what i like i Love
Love the tune and vibes, so original and dreamy….thanks guys.
Special respect to the drums and bass, they project the music forward.
That bass player is awesome. She uses her instrument like a lead guitar.
Everyone’s great, but yeah that bassist has show-stopping style.
I was thinking more like a synth but super cool
She plays like an unconstrained bassist but if you want to say she’s playing like a lead guitar & fucking up then that’s a cool un-nuanced opinion
Eternal love to this band!
Thanks for having Nabihah. Long time listener to both Nabihah and KEXP. Perfect set showing the versatility of the band.❤
Wow, what an amazing human, musician, and the band too! Thank you KEXP for bringing these beautiful musicians to us, and thank you Nabihah for persevering and sharing your talents with the world!
Свіженько так. Приємно слухати.🙂🙂🎶🎶😊😊

Her music is like heaven for people who enjoy cocetau twins
Listened to her previous album a lot! This is making me happy :)
This was really enjoyable. Thanks for bringing us this great band from the UK.
What an amazing musician and Dj she is, and what an amazing personality too
Great music! So dreamy, I love it.
More than a little Cocteau Twins in there. Awesome stuff!

Everyone on this stage, including Cheryl Waters is a total rockstar 🤘🏼
Terribly moving... And a splendid album!
Thank you so much, KEXP, for inviting Nabihah and her band. Been enjoying her new album immensely -- one of my favorite 2023 releases so far!
This is perfect!
Nabihah Iqbal is the epitome of a joy-enabling human being. A joy not only felt while listening to their music, but also while exploring glimpses of their difficult as well as wonderful life experiences. 🌺

What a performance 💕
hermosa!!!
Si!! me gustan
The guitar solo in Closer Lover is shocking and epic, play it again at the shows please! I love them
What a Beautiful B right soul, get me a Ticket 4 the Milky way Amsterdam .
If her voice sounds familiar, she did vocals for Sophie's early releases such as Lemonade back in 2013. Such a warm energy and vibe, and a fantastic talent.
Haha, I thought it was familiar but I never knew that was her! Thank you for some genuinely useful information, a rarity on the internet these days
So it‘s probably Sophie she‘s referencing when she tears up after the last track…
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
I discovered Nabihah Iqbal a few years ago and I believe she’s one of the best young artists in music today. 🦸🏽♂️❤️🦁🇺🇸
Incroyable
Badass bass ! 👏👏
check also out her lovely radio show on the great british online station, NTS ~
/ Al Hewett (Aldous rh) also has a show there
cute it is
Found her again after 8 years.
💪💪 Quality !
Nice Bass and Drums. Tight.
Que divina la piba, súper simpática!
Getting Lali Puna vibes.
Definitely digging this.
I hear shades of the band and female vocalist from Elephant, Kelly Lee Owens and even Saintly Sarah Cracknell in some of the narrative voice here. Lovely stuff.
Hell yeah ‘shredding…
It’s like 80s retro techno
🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍
I love her music and DJ sets :'')
