@@kimbrolyy You'd be surprised how tanky a level one is with minmaxed gear and enough spare humanity. It's just grindy as hell maxing your character under those restrictions unless you use the duplication glitch with boss and firekeeper souls

I passed the game years ago and tried this for a second playthrough. I quickly found out that levels dont help much. They increase your defensive stats more than anything so boss fights are more forgiving and you get a little bit extra damage but thats all. The game is still quite a challenge.
God damn. Elden Ring was great... but watching this quick overview of the whole game makes me remember how ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE IT WAS. That fucking firelink music... the most lonely and forlorn ive ever heard. The feeling watching the cutscene as the bells are rung. The first view of anor londo... (and then when you finally start understanding the lore and the connected world as a whole... your first re-view of the iron gollum arena and the caved in path to anor londo and dying to know what that passage is like.
I've done this before, it's still challenging but more fun, if you killed the Asylum Demon first encounter, you'd have gotten the Demon's Great Hammer which is actually perfect for this
How many flask does it take to refill your health? This also goes to show that stats alone don't do THAT much you need stats AND weapon upgrades LOL. Nice to know how challenging this masterpiece still is. I just finished 200 hrs of ER, put in DS1 and couldn't stop smiling for 2 hours.
I think Estus +0 it would take at least 6 to 8. I went back over my fight with Gwyn. I was at estus +2. and I used two to fill up about 7 canisters of my health bar.

i honestly thought you would one shot basically everyone while not taking any damage but even with maxed stats, you still need skill. this is a good game
I facerolled most bosses after I got a 40/40 quality build the first time I beat DS1. I was expecting maxed out stats to be a lot more powerful. Guess those diminishing returns really kick in.
Just realized one of the reasons I like these videos is because I can take in how gorgeous some of these bosses are, when I'm not concentrating on fighting them. In particular, Gravelord Nito and the Four Kings have an eerie beauty. And then there's straight up good looking, like Sif and Artorias.
The first time i played dark souls, back in 2011, the game was so hard for me (I was 11 at the time), that i used the Dragon Head bug to get unlimited Souls, and the game was still hard, because i didn't know how the weapon system properly worked and all. So this video, gave me a lot of nostalgia about that time, me as a Kid trying to beat this "impossible" game, not knowing where to go, and still dying even with a very high level.
Most RPGs: LVL 1. Hits starting enemy with sword, 20% damage. LVL MAX: with punch... 1000% damage Dark Souls not so. I reached a point where I wondered if it payed out too much to level up. There were more vast differences if you upgraded your weapons too much or have skills. LVL1 game doesn't feel so much different except that 1 good hit could instakill you instead of 3 at LVL MAX.
It's common thing i've done recently, i've done it in a couple videos. Everytime I do something that's really obnoxious and unessessarily assholish, i will chuck the snip in from ADTR.
Using some tactics you can (literally) make a character approximately max level (or max depending on your patience) by Glitching and Skipping. I did that but killed Sit to get a high value soul if I use it on the Estus glitch. Also I upgraded Zweihander to +15. I also spent my time buying resources (with the soul glitch) to level up the Elite Knight Armor to the maximum level. Count on me... The feeling is that you are literally a god. It's nice to see enemies who (possibly) have already mopped the floor with you like little Undead trying to kill Havel. I personally dislike Boss Capra Demon and... Using the maximum Zweihander's running attack and making him kiss the ground with a single blow was an unforgettable feeling.
