Learn from that child people. He showed so much respect for that soldier. He didn't touch the soldier. He didn't get too close for the picture. He acted naturally, as it should be.
The guard standing and greeting with the child probably wasn't even in his order or script which made it more wholesome. Also making him have a side of humanity inside, rather than being seen as a 'bot' by the public.
Most definitely it wasn’t he’s a soldier. The child was lucky that he made the effort to do that. He didn’t speak or bend down towards the child as he’s working and he probably got in trouble for doing even this.

I saw in a reddit AMA that a guard can march ten steps, do a left turn and return every ten minutes for not to have blood stuck in the legs. I think that was one of those actions, and a very kind and adorable way to do so. :)
That soldier did not lose his job and was not reprimanded. He was commanding the troops there so it was his decision to return. I believe the queens guard offered the boy and his family a tour of the castle at a later date

The family live near the castle, and this was the little boy's birthday treat wearing his new uniform. The little boy was on the local news and wants to be a soldier.
I think it is so sweet that the little boy is dress just like a palace guard. Probably wants to grow up to be a palace guard. I love that a guard came back to let a mother and son have a picture moment. I think I it’s out of respect for the uniform. Thank you for sharing.

It will. I remember ,at the age of 5 ,my mom saying she'll buy me a coconut and we'd crack it open together. Im 28 and I still bring it up. All my siblings but me went to the circus and I was promised that I'd go next time. At the age of 26 , my daughter had a school trip and I got to chaperone. I spent the $20 to let her ride the elephant and camel. We are lucky to have portable cameras because little moments like this do stick with you

Nah, this is fine. They cant salute the kid back, however, you can give respect. That last minute stomp and turn he does, that is a sign of respect from the 💂 guards. And yes, good pr is eaten up by high command. And i promise he had authority or permission to do this. You can see him being watched by a guy in the door to make sure everything is legit.

I agree, I was looking at old pictures of where I'm from and the difference is unbelievable. People/neighbours/friends doors open all out on the streets enjoying life. Now its like the only people you see are commuters traveling work or people going to the shop, and police enforcing groups of more than 3 are dispersed and moved on under the threat of an ASBO order 😳
That was so awesome that the guard came back to share that moment with the little boy. I knew that had to have gone a long way in encouraging the boy to want to be a guard even more.

Wow!!! From what ive heard, those Royal Guards are no joke. They are tough as nails and never show any feelings or lower their guard especially towards a civilian. Even when so many people make fun of them and disrespect them just to mess with the Guards. These guys are tough, man. To see this guy take the time for this little kid, in my opinion is very rare and heartwarming. I think he could even get in trouble for it. Im surprised at how respectful the little boy was. That little guy must have heard something about the Queens Guard or heard stories and saw pictures of them. How else would a toddler be so enthralled at about 2 to 3 years of age? And to have a costume that matches the Queen’s Guard 💂♀️ He was totally mesmerized. His little head was on a swivel. Especially when he walked over so slowly, not sure it was OK to go up to the guard. Then the guard waved him forward and I thought, this little guy is over the moon and will NEVER forget it. The family live near the castle, and this was the little boy's birthday treat wearing his new uniform.
The little boy was on the local news and wants to be a soldier.
I think it is so sweet that the little boy is dress just like a palace guard. Probably wants to grow up to be a palace guard. I love that a guard came back to let a mother and son have a picture moment. I think I it’s out of respect for the uniform. Thank you for sharing.

He was totally mesmerized. His little head was on a swivel. Especially when he walked over so slowly, not sure it was OK to go up to the guard. Then the guard waved him forward and I thought, this little guy is over the moon and will NEVER forget it.

Once he went through those doors his shift is over. He did that on his own time which makes a whole lot better. :}
