BC Rich Warlock Bronce review

- I've had several questions about this guitar. Whether it plays nice, its good value for money and so on...so I decided to make a review of this guitar that explains everything! Please tell me what you think and remember to subscribe! :D
Oh and for people who wanna know, I am playing through a roland cube 80x without any pedals.
The strap lock is on the back because bc richs (older ones) where top heavy, so the strap lock positioned there helps balance out the guitar
I got one yesterday as a surprise gift.
I bought one because of the style and price. I changed out the hardware with a new bridge, emg 81/85 pickup set, grover locking tuners and new pots. This guitar sounds great and has stayed in tune after falling off the top of an amp onto the floor. So if anyone has one and aren't fully satisfied a few pieces of new hardware will make it feel like a much more expensive guitar.
About a week ago I got a platinum warlock with string threw body widow headstock dot inlays for 75$ American dollars it looks awesome no damage and it sounds vicious as fuck took
Great 2 the point video that covers all the critical info .
thaxx
i´ve got this guitar three years ago and im still happy with it ...cant agree with people who talkin bad about it
Great review mate! One more thing.About playability. Is the neck comfortable? It seems preety thick which is good for low tunings but is it fast enough?
@violentrage86 Because the strings "live", they stretch when you bend them (or by any chance, if you have a floyd rose tremolo they will go out of tune if you use it), You need to stretch them correctly
I have this guitar as well, allthough I have the platinum series... your review suits what this guitar is all about. Allthough you could have mentioned the string hight. It's quite igh and I can't get them any lower without losing sound. But nevertheless really nice guitar for just a few bucks.
@yakanato The scale is 25,5", and I adore the neck. It's really comfortable and thin, even though it's a cheap guitar the neck is amazing
Cheap in price doesn't always mean cheap in quality, but sadly that's how it is most of the time. Although BC Rich is an exception.
Yes they are harder to tune and to restring. But practice makes perfect and after several times you'll get the hang of it. Nevertheless, it will always be more time-consuming then a guitar without a floating tremolo. If you change the tuning of the guitar a lot then I wouldn't recommend a guitar with a floating tremolo
It may be tricky the first time you do it, and maybe the second time, but after practising it of course gets easier and it's not a big problem anymore. 1000 series FRs and OFRs are easier to set up because they stay in tune better.
I just grabbed another one of these today and here I am watching a 12 yr old review 😂 I miss old BCR’s
Bought 5 years ago, son never played it.Crate 120 with 2-12". So I got it down stairs to play, Heavy, shape is weird to hold. My neck is sore. I got my 1st electric guitar in 66. The hum through the amp was the ground, it was loose. Took it apart to fix.The drilling is off so only 3 screws hold the cord in. Oh yea, the clean sound is hard to do with that neck. Plays real good through a Marshall Blues Breaker foot switch. You get tired just holding it.That was what he wanted for for Christmas
I like the diversity of music you play
i have one buddy, just make sure the intonnation is correct, wrap around bridge tends to mess it up i can hear it. as body shape your right, its the most comfortable guitar to play, regular or v player guitars. i had mine for 8 years now and i can take it to studio, however i did change the electronics
@GuitarnScythes actually, i was originally running the guitar thru a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal on the clean channel but when i switched to the insane channel on my line 6 spider III, it sounded MUCH better.
@sk8erlad7 yes good point, the headstock is indeed too heavy and the guitar tends to dive when you play while standing
Nice one..Im not too sure yet..I'm still looking around..ill have to pick the best for me and one id really like..Its possible though..Looks like its a nice guitar
I really want one of these they are epic :D
i just ordered mine today, shud be here next week :)
I love my custom left-hand Warlock!
I love this guitar, awesome review! ^^
I got this as my first guitar. I'm struggling with a neck, I think it's too narrow.
@psp2rockman I'm not sure, but it might be bc rich warlock bronze I, not II. Not sure, just an idea.
Correct, I dropped mine several times but it's bullet-proof :)
i was wonder ing how much its worth.
i just bought one for 180 dollars.
its not damaged at all
and it has these green flames printed around the set of pickups an around the bridge
I have one, the best advantage is the SHAPE, however the shape is the worth lack especially for the beginners - its quite uncomfortable to carry it while sitting in a chair at the beginning but the sound is pretty nice for this price.
@FerrariGallardo147 I don't know I've never tried them before, but I've heard a lot of positive feedback about the platinum series
Damn I love the sound of this guitar ! :o
@StreamFeverNZ they have 2 different series of bronze warlocks. One with the arrow and one with the widow
i want that guitar so badly
@GrozaBathrust Absolutely, it's just such a shame I don't have a lot of space to record in my room. So in order to capture me and my guitar I have to sit very close to my desk...and because of that I tend to hit my guitars against it :(
@psp2rockman Hmm...I have no idea. I'm not really a guitar expert, just a player, but I haven't seen a warlock with just one pickup before. Might be older, or newer, not sure, cause mines pretty old, and it's just like the one in the vid here, exactly the same.
Well to tell you the truth it is pretty bulky, but its nothing too heavy. I had a stratocaster model before this guitar and I barely had any struggle with getting used to the weight of the guitar
dude u beastin, i was thinking about getting a bc rich
hey man i have a basic amp that has a distortion button with volume bass and trble knob. the sound the guitar made in the beginning of your video was gorgeous and im having trouble just the right sound. could you tell me how ur amp was set up , and how far you turned the vol and tone knobs on the guitar ? THANK YOU !!
@Drink598 No songs, just some riffs and licks that I came up with on the spot ;)
Bought One today for $70 Bucks! Great little Metal Guitar... \m/
Hi, I love mine too :) an X2N it´s a Pickup, a humbucker from DiMarzio, The most screaming model from Dimarzio, with a really bad-ass sound. It was for many years the pickup used by Chuck Schuldiner, from Death.
Light as hell.
Great review and playing brother.
I just bought a BC rich warlock bronze series played it and love it, the only cuestion I have is, is swapping the pickups would be the only improvement it needs? or other hardware be necessary, not changing for tremolo since will affect the tunning, but how about changing tuners and what brand of tuners?
Will appreciate your information bro.
Hi I'm Karu. Thanks for the information and very valuable, I apreciated.🤘🏻
Well if you want a guitar for mostly hardrock and metal then I definitely suggest you check it out! ;)
Saw one for sale for a nice price in a local guitar shop around where i live... been a fan of Mick Thompson for over a decade and i'm quite curious, would this be a good guitar to start learning with ?
Am getting a bc rich warlock Bronz soon how are there for singing
Oh shoot...well played sir, well played.
@GuitarnScythes yeah all of these are great metal guitars
@phatznipa66 Well this guitar is great, but perhaps check out the Epiphone Les Paul and SG as well. Back in the days when I bought this I was totally into metal, but if I was a little bit more rock oriented I would have gone for the SG since it's more versital than the warlock. All in all, I suggest try out the warlock and perhaps the SG (and the Les Paul) and see which one you like the most :)
@exelans37 I would say so. And of course, a lot of it comes down to pickups too, but mine does clean tones pretty well.
Thank you! :D
i have him to, its a realy well played guitar , buth the spikes on the top where broken
@XbassonX It's the same exact thing but some people call it 'bronce' and some people call it 'bronze'. I have no idea why though xD
im gonna buy this exact guitar but unfortunately the head isn't the same. idk why but im hoping it sounds the same anyway
@purplesquirrl its exactly like a bronze 1 but just has one humbecker instead of two and two knobs but no switch and the neck is black im staring to take a guess that it may be an old model??
yea i got a ibanez RG5EX1 about four months ago it has the edge III.. and it is a bitch to restring.. im getting the hang of it but i would not recommend a floating trem for a beginner
I might be getting one soon, it's the Platinum Pro version tho (What is the difference between the Platinum Pro version and the Bronce one? I can't find any useful info on the internet.)
...I've heard alot of hate aimed towards the brand and their products but it seems like a decent guitar for a beginner. (I do have a Squier but it doesn't suit for metal). The looks of the Warlock? Looks ok, looks kinda like a...demonic butterfly tho. And the back side of the neck is not painted black, why?
awesome wat do u think of the platinum series warlock?
Jesus Christ you're a good guitarist. Did you play any specific riffs or was this all freestyle?
LOUR: Neurotronic recorded with a B.C. Warlock custom on UA-cam.
Does it work? If it's pretty beaten up but works I'd say around $80. Could be more, could be less.
Awesome review!
@xbloodxdrunkx yes they are the stock pickups, and what kind of amp are you using? I use a Cube 80x, it has a very edgy, sharp R-fier mode that can make any guitar even with single coils sound beefy
i brought one for 400 bucks today. supposed to come in in 3 to 5 days and from what i see to what i was getting it looks like a great guitar. i noticed how close the strings are to the frets but my one concern is the tuners. how is it for shredding? i read it does a well job with that.
Maybe, but I have an older SV model. The new SV is slightly different to the one I have so my review won't be really accurate =/
@LuigiLRBA Epiphone guitars are way more decent :) So I'd pick an epiphone over this one. Know this from my own experience. I have this warlock and used to have an epiphone les paul and played an SG
i hav this guitar nd when u stand up to play it the neck always goes way down nd its hard to play i dunno if it is where the strap is put or the weight is not balanced but i just thought id let u guys know but apart from that i wud deffintly recomend this guitar
@Kanonenkolbe Is there a guitar shop close to you where you can try out both guitars? Cause they are pretty equal, so it really comes down to personal preference
thats y i bought mine it relly cought my eye at the first glance. is verry unique.
for a brand pickup it kind a soud great but cant beat the emg 60 and 81, great guitar but i recomande you esp or ltd for lowest price and great qualiti :D
how come my warlock bronze series is black on the neck? and only one single humbecker but has two knobs in it?? and the head stock is not like yours either its pointy
please help i cant find my model anywhere on the internet?
@Germankiller1 yes it's fine
I don´t know how the Blackout sound like :) but, in my opinion, the X2N sounds a little like the Dimebucker, but "fatter", for saying something.
What a long name!
then why does slayer play them and i know what your gonna say that there rich but it depends on how you take care of them not banging them around and just leaving them out of there case
thanks a lot for the videoo :D
i currently have a strat copy and i want a second guitar im a beginner but i can play some stuff like led zepplin and black sabbath...... should i get this guitar?
what is the different between B.C Rich bronce nad bronze?
How about playing this guitar while standing? My Buddy got a Warlock BK 1 and it´s neck tends heavyly down, so how about this guitar?
mine has an extra knob and a floyd rose
@akudal964 did you see those price differences at the same store?
That is a guitar!!
It´s great!!
whats the difference between this one and revenge warlock ?
What Do I need to let it sound like the beginning?
it´s a guitar for beginners, but with a X2N it really kick ass!
My bc warlock doesn't sound nothing like your's can u help me?? please
It seems to be a great guitar. I had a Behringer Metalien for three years and a half and it's a real piece of shit (no, shit makes flowers grow..). I want to buy a BC Rich Warlock like that. I hope I made a good decision. Does it worth?
should i get this or bc rich warlock revenge in white ?
I have a Q, can someone plz reply, i need help i have a B.C. Rich Bronze warlock and i need to replace the strings, i am a beginer and know nothing, i need to know what the string size is to fix it. PLEASE HELP!!!
how is it compared to a Dean Vendetta for metal?
i want to buy this guitar but does anyone know how it would sound on a raven amp?
@guitarrockerkid and by 'BC Rich guitars' you mean all of them? Then the answer is no. Almost every cheap guitar has low quality tuners that are bound to slip a lot. it's not just with BC Rich guitars, it's with almost every company that makes cheap guitars. The more expensive guitars of BC Rich (platinum, signature and custom shop) have much better tuning stability and barely go out of tune as far as I know
Wat would you say about the Mick Thomson Signature Guitar?
hello,
i have one of these guitars and i used until now the string that came with it but one of the strings broke so im looking for one to buy to replace them, but i dont know which ones will be good like fat ones or thinner ones. I like to play metal and hard rock so im thinking of fat ones but i also like to bend , which do u recomend?
thanks
Is this the one thats 200 bucks at guitar center?????
are those stock pickups? if so, how do they sound so bright? i just picked one up today and the pickups have this... nasally, muddy sound when i play with distortion.
@londonpythons716 No spend it on a squier or epiphone they both do every thing this guitat does but better.
thnx
I just got one of these guitars for free, its pretty beaten its mostly superficial. How much do you think I could sell it for?
is this good for how cheap it is????????
