A fun trick I stumbled across to do color-accented black like you did on the talons is actually sort of the reverse of how you laid it down - I do a layer of basilicanum grey over the area, then cover that with the contrast paint I want to be the highlight color. They mix down into an almost perfect black with the top contrast paint poking out on the edges/raised bits. I was trying to find a way to avoid edge highlighting black boots and it ended up working out great!
Don't forget to pour the excess oil wash into a dropper bottle for next time! 🫡
Love this colour scheme. The purple closers to the claws is so nice.
Cheers 😁
Perfect video, got the leviathan box and it has sat on the side. I’ve never army painted before and trying to work up to doing it. May pick a different colour scheme but your methods will definitely inspire it!
Thanks! Enjoy it 😁
Perfection, lovely work on that screamer-killer 👌
Cheers Niko
I really, really like that effect you did on the claws. Very nicely done.
Thanks!
@@ThePaintingCoach I think I'm going to change the red to a nice dark blue or purple and use that on my nids.
Cool!
Impressive. It is given me the final push to start using oil paints !
Enjoy!
Well done as always!
Thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for!
Glad it is helpful!
Great tutorial, would love to see some other hive fleets too
I've got some others in my shorts format feed 👍🏻
love it and i started using oil paints cause of you
Awesome!
Hoping you do a video show black armor plates and a red flesh.
Check my shorts for red flesh - or my khorne demon prince tutorial. For more detailed red flesh check my angron vid. For black plates, try black templar dry brush mechanicus grey and then sharp highlight administratum grey
That looks awesome! Do you do requests lol I want to do a Soulblight Gravelords Zombie dragon, incorporating some purple for the exposed muscle
I don't I'm afraid - but some thinned volupous pink over pallid wych flesh is a good start
What are the benefits and drawbacks of this technique/recipe vs your previous tutorial with the parasite of mortrex?
This is a lot quicker - but probably not as detailed
In this video. I Will make you regeret not spending Extra money to g’et the screamer killer. Damn its a sweet model
Will white-spirit dissolve previous paint layer?..
No it will be fine - if you are worried, you can add a satin or gloss varnish before hand
Love this! Unrelated question, but have you ever thought of doing some AoS painting guides?
Cheers Gordon - yes in fact I have a few on the Channel, and will be doing the new Cities of Sigmar box when my copy arrives!
You've just made me a very happy man!@@ThePaintingCoach
Are you getting the new box too?
I am! My first AoS purchase!@@ThePaintingCoach
Awesome! Hopefully I'll give you some ideas!
Da iawn
Diolch!
