He is a hypocrite and a narc. I do wish you and Donnie block him both on social media, block him from events, and also block him from coming to the social proof building.
This is narcissistic abuse right in front of our face, Donni and David I really hope you see this message. The last thing you want is for this man to prey on women that are attach to your brand. What I mean is literally use the Social Proof Podcast as a pool to access and prey on certain women to only lower them into relationship that can HIGHLY potentially lead to a narcissistic abuse.
He is religious and does things a certain way but hates the advice Donni gives to filter and preserve herself before tieing herself sexuallu with him. So, someone please explain to me a religion that exist where they encourage people to just go around and casually engage in sexual activity in the talking phase of a relationship. That is in the incubation period of a relationship.
      MAKE THAT SHIT MAKE SENSE!!!

@@jonreelwilkins9346 I wish you were right, but this is not the case. If he wanted her to think for herself, he wouldn’t have any interest in influencing her decisions on who to follow. He is a liar and a manipulator just based on that comment he made alone. Never mind the other excuses he made for his controlling patterns of behavior.

How are you saying that she shoukd think for herself when you're thinking for her? He doesn't like the fact that she values someone else's opinion over his. I feel like he wants to follow Dave so he can use his advice as if it was his and the girlfriend will admire him instead. Dude is weird. By challenging the knowledge she’s gaining and saying “think for yourself” he can create a different standard for her chase and remove all of the information and logic she’s currently working with from the table. And the basis for all of it is emotions. It’s intellectual warfare when you can’t “win” with integrity.

It was him asking questions off topic to deflect what was originally being asked. My heart was racing the whole episode and if I was her I would RUN. Also, asking Donnie, “does she feel she is able to be led” tells so much. I would not be shocked if that is the leading convo to his girlfriend as the “religious” (as he stated) husband that leads and she follows him as a sign that she knows how to be led “listening to his advice”. Part of me wanted to give the guy some grace to explain himself.
Like there was just something we were missing that’s actually a really deep lesson. But what I got was just some of the weirdest most unabashed narcissism I’ve ever seen.
It’s not just what he’s saying it’s that he actually fully allowed ya’ll to dig deeper and sat there smug, like it was logical. Like he couldn’t even read how uncomfortable he was making the room (except David who seemed slightly amused 😂) jk, you two really brought home the seriousness of his behavior.
Donni peeped the game from jump. This man is dangerous. He needs a therapist instead of asking questions like he is one. He spent this whole interview gaslighting and trying to bait y’all.
Appreciate ya’ll walking through that I think it was good for women (or men) to hear who are in a controlling situation, but there may be some ppl more controlling than they realize who need to hear this to say “Is that me?”
Naw but fr this man is far gone.

I can relate. Both My son and daughter were in toxic relationships. I made it a point to stay connected and checking on them, even when their spouses bad-mouthed me. I let both abusers know that I was not going away and if needed I would show up. Both of my kids were adults and I couldn't force them to leave their situations but I continued to let them know I supported them and would do whatever was needed to ensure their safety. I believe this gave them the courage to figure it out and remove themselves from their situations. Please don't dish out empty words when someone asks you for help-but help in any way that you can. Something that stood out from jump is that he described himself as very religious. People who lead with that belief about themselves are often more prone to being rigid in influence and alignment. In the way David’s religious views came up, and clear wrong assumptions were made, there’s a good chance that the overall influence was based on invalid understandings and unreliable sources. But again if you’re a man/woman who has not experienced healthy leadership vs unhealthy gaslighting or manipulation it all probably looks the same. Praying everyone gets the help they need.

The first way that I got out of an abusive situation is that I told people. Even when I was ready to leave. I just KEPT sharing it. I had to tell people EVEN when embarrassed. It took me getting stomped in front of my friend to realize that it was okay to tell people.
I wasn’t ready for a long time. I was ready to leave for a LONG time. But I acted like I was. I even broke up with him. Eventually, we went on to get pregnant while trying to “work on the relationship”. We shouldn’t have worked on the relationship. I’m thankful for my son. I would be even more thankful if I gave my son a good father. I loved my ex. But I didn’t love me. This was obvious to everyone but me.
I got tired of hearing ridicule and “advice” from my friends that I confided in. But I kept telling them with hopes of it changing something. I couldn’t change him.
Eventually, we moved to Philly. It got worse. Eventually, I made the decision to move away.
    That move was necessary.
He eventually moved as well. We reunited. Eventually, I began therapy. That therapy helped me to leave the relationship.
Eventually, I rented a room from someone that I was able to live in.
I took time for myself so I wouldn’t get in anymore abusive relationships.
    Recap:
Step 1: Tell people. And keep telling them over time.
Step 2: Work to slowly leave the relationship without telling the abuser.
Step 3: Surround yourself with people who are going to influence you and help you in a positive way.
    - Surround yourself with Christians that actively pursue Christ.
    - Surround yourself with people and influences who have very healthy marriages and mindsets.
    - Find people who can help you move. Find people who can Help with: a home, finances, counseling, childcare, food, transportation, gas, clothes.
Step 4: Get therapy. Find a free or cheap resource. Mine was free at my university. Your university may have free counseling/ therapy.
Step 5: Change Cities or States. If possible. (If not possible, maybe change the side of town COMPLETELY) If you can change your city or state, it makes a huge difference. But MOVE either way.
    Step 6: Repeat Step 3.
****Surround yourself with people who are going to influence you and help you in a positive way.
    - Surround yourself with Christians that actively pursue Christ.
    - Surround yourself with people and influences who have very healthy marriages and mindsets.
    - Find people who can help you move. Find people who can Help with: a home, finances, counseling, childcare, food, transportation, gas, clothes.

Did anybody hear when David said”This is the classic reason I’m going to continue to ask, have you ever hit her?” The dude said “ yes” …Anybody else hear that or am I tripping?
Side note: Being a person who have been through domestic abuse in multiple relationships this was very triggering for me. Due to the fact that the abuse was more so mental and emotional which In my opinion is a little scarier than physical abuse because it’s easier for the abuser to get away with what they are doing especially if the victim is unaware of what’s happening to them . Not to take away from someone who is going through physical abuse because all abuse is horrific, I’m just saying emotional and mental abuse has the ability to go undetected because for the untrained eye there’s no external evidence that abuse is taking place which for a victim of it this fact could make it hard for them to get out of a situation because for one they may not realize they are being abused or no one believes them because the only abuse most people recognize or understand is physical abuse.
Even in this particular interview, the guy was being abusive both emotional and mentally to Donni and David! I believe Donni’s body picked up on what was happening due to the fact that she had been through an abusive relationship before but he used so many tactics against them but there was one in particular that trigger me the most . When he purposely answered and asked questions and made statements that he clearly knew and could see was triggering to Donni and David and then when he saw he had triggered and was getting a triggered reaction from them he sat back all cool & calm like he didn’t know what he had done and played victim saying “ if something happened to me this is the last place I was” . That’s called reactive abuse. An abuser pushes you continuously in a manner they know could get you to react in a way that you look like the abuser when in reality you are reacting reasonably to the situation at hand. Thankfully in this situation Donni and David were able to walk away from this person who had done this and tell him to stay away but unfortunately some are stuck with sick individuals like this until they find the help or strength to walk away. I pray the girlfriend in this situation and anyone else dealing with any kind of abuse find a safe way out and heal.
