  • Second episode of my VR flight training in X-Plane
    Quick Links
    Takeoff: 1:48
    Landing: 13:16
I am using Gleim Flight Training Course for X-Plane. You can find it in the link below.

Please like and subscribe and I’ll be back with more flight lessons soon!
NOTE: I recorded and produced this completely from the cockpit so viewers can see what the gauges read better than cutting to outside views. If you think I should still mix in outside views please let me know in the comments below. Thanks.

To help leveling off at a specific altitude, take 10% of your climb rate and use that number as the number of feet before the specific altitude you want to stop at. Example... 10% of 500 ft/min climb is 50 ft. Start leveling at 2450 ft for 2500 ft. Then hold that altitude with yoke while the aircraft accelerates and then trim. Then you don't tend to over trim as the speed builds. If descending with an aircraft trimmed for level flight, reduce power, use the same idea as climb but add power back before you get to assigned altitude, to regain the previously trimmed speed. It might help to review the lesson procedures so you know what's coming before having to do them in the air. (if you don't already do that)

Nicely done! When do you plan to take your PPL? Is it possible to move your screen in front of your GPS for now since you're not using it. It would be more convenient to access GLEIMs instructions.

Yes I should move it in front of my GPS. I'll do that next time. I have 2 new things coming this week. Honeycomb Yoke and a wheel stand pro for my lessons. Next ones should go a lot smoother (in theory)

Great video! Also nice to see the Gleim course at work. Learned a lot from your video's about VR etc. Small question: what textures do you use for the runway? Looks awesome. Rest of airport is a blend of default 3D and Ortho4XP? Keep it up!!

How do you operate the trim wheel in VR. You don't show it. Mine seems to move a millimeter at a time. Is there a way to move it faster?

I show it in my latest live stream, and I think quickly in the previous video. ua-cam.com/video/VgVx-h9bVCo/v-deo.htmlstart=851 I use the trim wheel when the electric trim is too touchy
