Thank you! I used the aluminum window screen, the high heat epoxy, some aluminum sheeting instead of stove pipe, the hose clamps and on top of all this, in the middle between the hose clamps, I used a 4” stainless steel band clamp to hold it all together. So far it is working great!!
@@TheOriginalMechanic the 2010 Toyota Corolla you did 5 yrs back installing new headlight assembly did you have to adjust the height where is the adjustment screw ? And do you use led bright bulbs ?
@@Blu-Man I did not have to adjust the screw. I am not sure of its location and I no longer have this vehicle. I used standard replacement bulbs. Thanks for watching and I wish you luck with your repairs.
I used the expoxy high heat on a pipe and used grinder to clean area and just were tiny hole but worked good I think be ok truck only gets up to 250 degrees so should be ok.i was gonna use some screen to but I didn't think would hold. 4:11
I think I would have embeded the screen in wet epoxy, but I'm teaching myself to weld so I don't have to do hack work like this. I tried that type of fix when I realized that my Focus oil pan had scaled to the point of leaking directly through the pan, I coated the entire pan and the oil still found it's way through the leaks and up over the rim of my improvised bowl. 2 years later, how did it last? I was ordering the pipe and the guy at the counter said we could just order the premade pipe, which I hadn't even looked into, but since it has 2 O2 sensors and collects both manifolds and joins to one before the cat, he closed the catalog and continued looking up my pieces without another word
This is for the non-welders out there. I mean hackers. Good luck with your welding, although I think it can be tough depending on where the opening is located. Best solution is new pipe. It did last a couple of years and then I did it over with heavier gauge sheet metal.

Good idea with the stainless band. I went that way the 2nd time.
I used stovepipe on my resonator with band clamps. It beat paying $4-500 for new exhausts.
Nice! My old diesel rabbit vibrates those hose clamps off though 😂
I feel you. Sounds like a place for standard exhaust clamps.
@@TheOriginalMechanic hello want to ask you about a video you did on a 2010 toyota corolla around 5 yrs ago
@@Blu-ManSure, fire away

Excellent video. I plan to do the same. Much appreciated.
Can I use dryer pipe? Is it the same thing?

This is exhausting.
Awesome work.... thanks.🙋🙏🙋
This is a hillbilly cobb job if I ever saw one. And I love it😂!
Yes sir , I had that idea as well only I am going to use header wrap and stove pipe with clamps ! ENJOYED..
Very Ingenious!!!!! 👍
Where to buy 3x24 stove pipe??
I would go to a home improvement big box like Lowe's or a hardware store if you can still find one.
Can rtv go on the outrer edges for leakage?
I don't think RTV, but exhaust sealant is a good idea.
Last about a year or 2 that's all .Just use one stainless steel butt joint clamp over it . Last forever . $5.00 .
good job!
Great thanks
If you cannot weld the certain metal, let JB do ot
Just replace it with brand new exhaust system and you are safe. What you did is “” money for nothing. chips for free 😂😂
Yea spend a couple hundred bucks on an exhaust when the vehicle is worth 2k ..stfu
Chicks for free
If u had power tools then there would be no use of speeding up the video😴
I have those but then I would have to find the tool, charge the battery, and cut the decibel level on the audio track. That's so much extra work lol
My kinda repair 👍💯
