- A quick video showing how I get timing numbers.
I used a free timing wheel that I printed online to show that anyone can time a saw even if they don't have a fancy timing wheel.
Thanks for watching.
Finally someone uses an accurate method of finding TDC with a piston stop. Repeatability in timing is key.
Just finished my 461 and I would not have been able to do it without your videos. Im very happy with it. Im making the Ironhorse exhaust to go with it. Thank you for the videos.
THANK YOU! I've watched a few other vids from you and other saw builders and there was always something I couldn't grab on the math, but you explained it in a way that worked for me. Now I can finish my 200T. BTW I use your chainsaw carb tune vid to show my buddies when I explain carb tuning. EXCELLENT JOB SIR!!!!
Awesome. There is so much more to this than I thought. Well done. It is interesting how much can be gained with a little knowledge and a couple of little tools... Thanks for the Chat. Hope your forth was awesome... TTYL....
I just recieved my 346 piston..got a meteor from wolf creek.
Great explanation and camera work
Thanks buddy.
You better port that saw.
@@tinmanssaws I am..just gonna be mild starting out..get wild on future saws when I get the hang of it.
@@JourneyNorthAK post the numbers on the facebook group, we can steer ya from there.
Great Demonstrational Video with some Good Explanations Buddy 👍
Thanks for thinking about your buddies down here south of the border! Thanks for sharing my friend! Well explained!👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey buddy, hope this video kinda filled in some of the questions people have.
Great job really good information. Thank you .
Good explanation, helped me understand the porting numbers a bit betterer.
Right on, I'm trying to make videos that I wish were out there when I started porting.
tin man will you put together a lovely ported either xl 76 or 130 homelite please
Im porting an xl76 right now buddy!! Hopefully it goes good, its been a source of many great conversations between Harvey and I.
Happy birthday to your mom I am a stihl mechanic how do I get started in porting I have a lot of ms 201tc m tronic
Well no special day here but it was a nice winter day with sunshine and no wind or rain, so i went out and cut down about 10 long dead gum trees. Nothing very big but hey my new saw still got a good run. Cheers
Nice video man hope all is well.
Looked like it opened at 69 degrees instead of 71 degrees?
Love videos old man please keep them up i do watch them I have subscribe on my phone I watch them on my son's old Xbox witch I can't subscribe with just want say thank time u put in videos
I’ve watched every video on UA-cam like this with a piston stop. I do not understand how you are getting exact BDC
If the wheel stops at the exact same place on the wheel in both directions you are zeroed.
Well I want to get a little more torque and also wanna try my hand at a little porting on my 461. Gonna start with the base gasket delete. Where would you do some mild porting in addition to a gasket delete, I'm looking for a little more rpms also...but would be happy with more torque but not losing any top end.
Iron horse said to check you out . What about a ms 391 saw I have to rebuild that is doing a port job on can you do some info on it ? 👍👍👍👍😀😀😎
Hey Ron thanks for coming over.
Unfortunately I dont have any experience with an ms391.
So my 461 has a burt looking piston its brownish in color on the exhaust side
Like see video mowing lawn fixing ur Kubota
