Measuring your window opening properly is critical to the successful installation of a double hung replacement window. Including enough space for shim and insulation and accounting for adjustments needed if the window frame is out of square or you need a head expander are key to proper measurement. shims- train on how to accommodate for them. if you measure as noted and then add shims- the window might be to tall. Shims on the side = your showing already cut shims. If I didn't know better I would know that your squaring the shim. I understand that Installers should already have an idea. But why not make a live video?
