    Bonjour,
    Je sollicite votre expertise pour répondre à cette question concernant les test RT-PCR couramment utilisés en France.
    Est ce que l’ARN viral du SARS-nCov2 n’est il pas trop similaire aux 229E, OC43 ou HKU1, SARS-CoV-1 et MERS-CoV qui remonterait un cas positif SARS-nCov2 pour un patient qui serait infecté dû MERS par exemple ?
    Merci aux universitaires, chercheurs ou scientifiques qui pourront éclairer ce point.
    Cordialement
    Guillaume

      The RTPCR primers are designed specifically against a unique sequence which is not present in MERS but only present in COVID19

    hi, sorry i know this is an old video. but with negative sense RNA you say it has to be reverse transcribed but show only that mRNA is made? reverse transcription is RNA do DNA right?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  Рік тому

      Negative-sense RNA viruses carry a single-stranded RNA genome that is complementary to the messenger RNA (mRNA) used by the host cell. To replicate their RNA, these viruses encode an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) enzyme. The RdRp recognizes the viral RNA as a template and synthesizes a complementary positive-sense RNA strand. The positive-sense RNA also serves as a template for the synthesis of new negative-sense RNA genomes by the RdRp enzyme. This negative-sense RNA will serve as a template for further rounds of transcription .

    But there was one point that I do not understand yet. You said that the RNA is working like a template but after the positiv strandet RNA had worked as a mRNA (isn't it?) for replicating there Proteins how do the RNA itself is replicated?
    I know it might be very obvious but forgive me my bad english

    I understand that the RNA strands are copied so that the cell machinery can synthesize proteins in order to assemble new viruses. Two questions: How many new viruses can result from a single virus entering a cell and when does that replication and assembly process ends?

    Thanks!! The pefect explanation I needed. Quick question, in the negative sense RNA, what helps to convert the now positive sense RNA strands back to negative sense strands to be used for the progeny viruses?

    • @wubel_la3590
      @wubel_la3590 2 роки тому

      Negative-sense RNA virus contain RdRP, which helps to convert the new positive sense RNA strands.

    • @abhinavsrivastav1690
      @abhinavsrivastav1690 2 роки тому +2

      Those positive strand RNAs are just for recognition by ribosomes and also to act as templates for synthesis of the original negative strands, which are then carried into the progeny viruses. The positive strands are not for progeny viruses as genomes but act as templates to make their genomes

    In the + strand of RNA mRNA is being directly synthesized. Then viral proteins too. But how is the replication happening of the genetic material of the virus which is to be packed?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  4 роки тому +1

      Ananya Dhar it makes a transient -ve sense RNA as template ,using that it makes more + sense RNA ( positive sense is just the complementary sea of the neg sense). Finally these newly synthetisized positive sense rna are packaged in the virus.

    • @gcm4312
      @gcm4312 4 роки тому +1

      This is an important step that is missing in the video. part of the RNA code contains instructions to assemble the RdRP (RNA dependent RNA Polymerase), which will work to replicate the RNA in a two-step process (+ strand to - strand, and then - strand back to + strand copies).

      SARS-COV-2 (the name of the virus that causes COVID-19, the disease) is a positive sense RNA virus. It's main protein (2/3 or it's genetic code) is called ORF1ab which assembles the RNA polymerase enzyme which will replicate the RNA code. The rest of the proteins needed (the spike protein, capsid, etc) are using the cell's own machinery (i.e. ribosomes, golgi complex). Check the Wikipedia article.

    Can we change the ph inside the cells somehow? I mean to have a certain diet, or pharmacy or special water or something, if we drinking it can change the ph of our cells a little bit, so covid viru cant replicate thats easy, MAybe our cells become little bit acidic in the last 50-100 years couse new lifestyle, so viruses can release their virions faster couse our cells are more acidic
