The construction of the Ballard Locks is the reason for Seattle's generational Scandinavian population. The imported labor for such a huge project was made up Scandinavians who ended up settling in the Ballard neighborhood and building up Seattle's maritime industries. To this day, there is an annual celebration of Norwegian independence day (17th of May) in Ballard.
How can I tell this was not narrated by someone local? Because he kept saying “the” Puget Sound. No one from Western Washington uses a definite article when referring to Puget Sound.
Did you create the title? Because there was no “how it’s done” at all. There were lots and lots of drone shots in the summer but nothing showing water levels rising, lowering, no charts, not even a still photo from something like Wikipedia, etc. Nothing about water temps, etc. Just pretty footage. Make the title something else such as “A day at the locks.” This is not a “how it works” video. Not even close.
Even though I have never visited Seattle, it is as if I have been there before. Good job my friend!
Haha soon I'm going to run out of places to make videos of.
One of my favorite places! You can always find a harbor seal playing near the dam!
True and it's one of their favorite feeding grounds as well.
I'll be in Seattle in 1 week. Thanks for the great videos! Helps a lot for my visit.
That means a lot, thank you. Have a good stay in Seattle.
Thanks for the details. You did a great job.👏🏻
You’re welcome 😊 and thank you!
That music man! Also the timelapse and narration was on point. Great job!
That was epic!!! Great narration, music, filming and cinematography.
I really like the overhead timelapse!
Thank you, me too.
