Ahhh! Although I don’t agree with most of these but that’s fine!! I love how you actually analyzed every song instead of just choosing based on your favorite group because that’s what everyone seems to do with these types of videos and it’s so annoying. So I really appreciate how you gave actual reasoning to each of your picks!
me personally i disagree with most of these because my taste of music is fast music and besically more stronger and more instrumental. But the ones i super disagree on is seikaiwa hitotsu janai and unravel. For me, the d4dj one sounds more lively and magical for me. While bandori sounds like they're trying pretty hard on it, but its just my opinion tho! I dont hate on you for disliking songs, thats okay and i appreciate how much you analyze the songs!! I mean, the way you give out your reasons, i like it! Dont give up!! :D
D4DJ songs for me, fit rhythm game more but Bang Dream just seems like a song I can listen on repeat. Overusage of EDM and stuff like that hits d4dj's chance for that on me. I'd say when they go full in (Like Rondo) in that part it's amazing.
Well, EDM is the go-to genre for most rhythm games, especially on arcade... Rock music rarely appear except in ones that are more focused on that like Guitar Hero
Sad that you didn't do Pastel Palettes vs Happy Around since they both covered Sparking Daydream from ZAQ especially since both versions are really good. I personally prefer Pastel Palettes version because of Aya's voice being adorable and the music being more fitting for the anime the song came from, but Happy Around's version is pretty great too. 🥰💗
honestly whenever I go from d4dj to Bang Dream I end up feeling like they are underpeforming. yes, I like some covers, but ironically, most of the time the most amount of songs I like are from Raisen a Sullen which... which is actually using EDM. Everytime you said someone is overpeforming with the song from D4DJ side, I thought the opposite - The Bandori side underperformed. The ONLY exception about this is Discouteque and Ready Steady Go because Afterglow slayed. I also was so suprised about namae... I dont remember the full name song - not going to rondo because I gotta admit - I LOVE how it hits. Though that can go to almost every D4DJ song. I really am trying to be neutral about covers from both games but overally I end up going to D4DJ ones as I really like this type of music. But at the same time I am a Nero's day in disneyland fan too, I already think some noise can be music so. It ends up being the taste. I once came to conclusion that if you like more classic type of sounds - you can go to Bang dream, but if you are more into EDM - D4DJ is right there. I guess its just as simple as that.
Love the fact that you put time and effort analysing each and every cover done by the respective units/bands. It’s is truly commendable. I do agree with some points but overall I think that D4DJ have better covers on the whole. Don’t get me wrong, Bang Dream has some awesome covers, but most of the time they’re just playing the same song with their instruments and vocals. However, D4DJ’s covers bring a new feeling and emotion to these songs through the use of EDM instruments and multiple vocalists which can leave an impactful impression on the listener. Anyways, great video.
not exactly. When I listened to Roselia and Rondo's cover of Tokyo Teddy Bear, they both hit extremely hard, in which I felt that between both covers, it was a tie
As a formula I definitely like D4DJ having all their members provide vocals. This allows them to play around with the songs and showcase each individuals personalities along with their group identity. This could end up hit or miss tho depending on how they mix the songs for covers(and if you like the EDM style). Bandori with one main vocal and raw instrumentals will always provide a solid cover. Personally I wouldn't count the D4DJ covers of Bandori songs, it's hard to compare covers to the originals. The idea of comparing 2 groups interpretations of another song is lost and it's just one group covering another. Great video and analysis of the differences between the groups of different franchises.
Thank you :) I agree that D4DJ’s covers can be more hit or miss since they usually differ a lot from the original, while Bang Dream has a more traditional sound. Both can be good in their own ways tho!
While I disagree with a few of the choices all around a fun video I love both series but the bang Dream game refuses to work for me so I've only played D4DJ But I've watched anime's of both And loved them
I do agree on your points about Aimi's vocals yup she doesn't have to prove anything since she already has a very powerful vocal range, her vocal range it both lower and higher registers were already Superb and she's so versatile in fact in all of BanG Dream! frontwomen Aimi is my all-time favorite singer and Poppin'Party is my all-time favorite band. And about Happy Around! I actually prefer them now since their new keyboardist and Togetsu Rei's new Seiyuu the lovely Irie Maiko has a wider vocal range, her voice is higher and she don't have a problem singing Happy Around's previous material and not to mention her piano playing skills and her dancing skills were absolutely amazing.
yeah, i think this mostly comes down to taste. bang dream, in all honestly, sticks to the formula which works but is often too slow. though thats not to say that most of the d4dj cover catalog knocks alot out the park either. anyways good analysis its just the audio in the video sounds a bit more compressed which is kinda bad for comparisons
Really nice video and awesome to see moere fans of these franchises because honestly i've been in the Love Live fandom for years and that fanbase is getting to be terrible i need to get away from them sometimes i love Bang Dream and D4DJ got to say though my favorite Bang Dream cover is Poppin Party's cover of Silent Siren Cherry Bomb i can' stop listening to it and Happy Around's version of Help Me Erin!!!! Donuts Donuts lol that is so fun to listen to.
With my past experiences with both games, I know that bushiroad creates great cover songs. However with my personal preferences, I don’t think D4DJ can ever catch up to BangDream in sense of songs or music. The pop edm in D4DJ just becomes too much in my opinion. It just feels too hard to focus on the lyrics or other things because the edm overpowers everything else. Also as a long time BangDream player I think that I might be biased a little. But I guess you could just say I love the rock and the way you can hear most of the instruments with bandori. Also LAYER’s voice just totally shook me the first time I heard it. So as Yukina. Their vocals are just so nice to listen to so in that sense even with the nice vocals in D4DJ, bandori just surpasses in every aspect. But overall this is just my opinion ig💀
Unlike so many young people who’ve been telling me otherwise, I want to tell you two things: 1) I deeply appreciate reading the thoughts you’ve shared and 2) your opinion actually matters. People like you, who not only have their own voice, but also a courage to voice their considerations, are beautiful, amazing, and much needed by our broken world. Thank you, Yuki! (Btw I am also playing BangDream since the end of Summer 2021, and love it for the same reasons that you’ve mentioned).
I feel the same way as you do. The pop edm is really to much and sometimes I get confused and can't hear the lyrics properly because there is just too much going on.
Thanks for showcasing the nature of both games. As a person born in 80's, and just loving musicians who play their instruments, there's no more doubt about committing to the Bang Dream!

Yeah exactly!!! If you prefer edm d4dj is the way to go, if not bandori. Simple as that lol
It's all matter of preference anyway... Some peeps just prefers electronic pop music over rock music, while others are the other way round

Im kinda triggered since u picked roselia instead of peaky pkey in black shout saying their vocals are overdone but oh well its ur opinion
I actually enjoyed watching this comparison, especially since there is someone who appreciate Morfonica's Unravel.
lol every comparison with RONDO in it is just unfair cuz RONDO is just so good
Yeah! RONDO is much more better. UNFAIR!
not exactly. When I listened to Roselia and Rondo's cover of Tokyo Teddy Bear, they both hit extremely hard, in which I felt that between both covers, it was a tie
We need RONDO to cover "Ghost Rule" and HappyAra to cover "Yume Yume" (Both songs are by Deco 27)

Imo Bandori has some better covers but i feel like D4DJ overall wins in gameplay and other aspects, but still both r rlly good
Well there are some I agreed but overall I still love both franchise......I mean cmon it is Bushiroad we are talking about man
Black Shout Peaky is too good
I love your pfp
I live for idol/rhythm content :)

Can you do Argonavis vs D4DJ or Argonavis vs BanG Dream cover battles next?
yeah, i think this mostly comes down to taste. bang dream, in all honestly, sticks to the formula which works but is often too slow. though thats not to say that most of the d4dj cover catalog knocks alot out the park either. anyways good analysis its just the audio in the video sounds a bit more compressed which is kinda bad for comparisons
No comparison, because I like both tastes of music.
D4DJ like nightcore cover version
It all depends on the nature of the original song.. those that are originally rock would definitely fit for BanDori
Yo stuff so up my alley I’m sorry lmao. I luv the geekiness 👊

GODDAMN I LOVE RHYTHM ANIME GAMES SO MUCH!! 💖
