Wizard's Unite was my jam. While I am sad to see it get shut down, and I have heard that it was shut down despite being in a well profitable state, I did notice some desperation brewing within the game before the shutdown was announced. The wild swing towards PVE heavy focus with the introduction of increasingly complex, monetized skill trees reeked of "we're not making enough money".
The Monster Hunter Now gameplay showed almost a week ago has me interested, it looks like if they are really doing the best they can, especially since the mh devs are fully involved in it I have high hopes but i dunno how much time its gonna be able to survive, its probably gonna die in like 2-3 years but it will be fun while its up imo
Also with Wizard's Unite, or any online service game, I wish they could program a "just in case" offline mode made accessible after the game's shutdown where you could atleast rifle through all of your accomplishments for years after instead of it all just getting the pure deletion boop.
The problem for Wizards Unite, in my opinion, is that the potential player base greatly overlaps with the Pokemon Go player base. I love Pokemon and I'm also a huge fan of everything Harry Potter. Alas, though I wanted to play WU, I just couldn't split the time I dedicated to PoGo with any other game that requires walking, exploration, etc... In the end, I chose the game I already had, I was already enjoying and felt invested into. I'm sure that if WU would had come before PoGo, it would still be around. Most people will not go through the hassle of playing two exploration games simultaneously. Maybe some people that have the time and willingness would do it, but that is only a small percentage of players, and Niantic barely gives a fuck about most of the players, much less about a small fraction of them, not matter how dedicated. Finally, Niantic wins nothing by having one person playing two or more of their games, when they only need one to collect the data they want to sell, so, why would they encourage you to play all the IPs you love?
Due to Niantic's behavior with the Pokemon Go community I won't be checking any of their other games out, only reason I am still playing Pokemon Go is my friends are still sending gifts and because Pokemon. Maybe if Niantic actually care about their community I probably would checked out at least a few of these.
Hard to bulid an AR game that's as successful as pokemon go as with pokemon is perfect for this style of gameplay but other franchises? I don't know...🤷♂️🤔
Campfire definitely feels like a beta app. Fully functional and great, utilizing there's still a few things I'd like to see added. Everything aside from Go and Ingress are trash. I'm sorry, but they should stop making AR games. It's a waste of time & money that take away proper development from the winners.
Niantic is such a crap company. The amount of easy changes they could make to improve Pogo is crazy, but they absolutely refuse for no apparent reason. I’m not gonna support their other games after seeing their treatment of this community.

Curious about your thoughts on Monster Hunter Now, now that's it been out for bit.
Harry Potter was fun, but I just could not do both that an PoGo.

I started Ingress for the exact same reason, then loved it. Then hated it again when I saw abusers of the game.

Admitingly, I was a lot nicer towards the other AR games Niantic developed compared to most others would.
You know digimon might have worked but I guess it’s to close to pokemon
