Your New Favorite Place To Ride In The Twin Cities! Localized Park Is For Real

- Localized Park in Afton, MN is finally opening and I couldn't be more stoked about it! We at Pathfinder Trail Building have put a ton of work into this place and we hope ya'll enjoy it.
Although this is a free to the public trail system, it is on private land and there's some rules that aren't like other public trails. You will need to go to localizedpark.com and register for a session which you'll then receive a gate code. There's also a limited number of riders allowed at once. And it's only going to be open on the weekends at first. I know it's a little frustrating not being able to just show up and ride but hopefully the city will ease up on these restrictions eventually.
Localized Park has a lot to offer for a free park though with some unique to the region trail. Featuring a XC loop with 5 gravity trails and a skills zone off the parking lot this is built for progression.
Big props to Olivier for making this place a reality!
See ya'll out there. Send it!

Do you hear that? Sounds like the stoke birds are a chirpin’ 🦅🎉🤙🏼
Oh they are a chirpin’ alright!! 🦅🤘🏻
Yeeyee!
Amazing looking park. Can't wait to ride this. Glad to see there are more sick trails popping up in MN.
Heck yeah! 🤙🏻
Damn..! Monarch at the start of the season and now this!!!! Holy shit boys, we’re getting some real trails here in MN!!
Oh yeah!! 🤙🏻
Yeah man! Great video! Stoked to see this place open.
Hell yeah brother, thanks! 🤙🏻
Wow that's awesome. I'll pass on the skinnies but wow 😳🤯. To bad not spring.
Thanks! The skinnies can get ya for sure haha
@@ridindirt I don't mind trying I just can't afford new derailers.
@@harrygrimley4352 oh I hear ya
Sick! Cool to see this come together. High five to the crew. Hopefully the cities will see all the positives of trails like this and start to embrace it. Also, Love the omage to Atmosphere on the Black line! 🤟
Yeah absolutely! 🤙🏻
Big thanks for the video! Some of that is too much for me, but I'm glad to see some stuff that pushes the ho hum around Twin Cities.
Thanks for watching! It’s good to have stuff to progress up to 🤙🏻
So sick. Hopefully, i get to ride it!!
Go sign up on the website!
🤘That wooden bridge is sick!
Oh it’s so fun!
The place is a blast! Can’t wait to get back here and shred the gnar! Sick video, solid overview.
Yeah dude! It was fun riding out there with ya. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
It's been a resume year for Pathfinder! Dang good!!
Appreciate it Jay! Always a pleasure working with you. Stoked for everyone to get to see what we’ve done out at Afton! All this rain ain’t helping though
So cool. I grew up within walking distance of this spot! Hopefully next time I visit my parents I can get some laps in!
Maybe you should just move back in with them haha
good looking trails @Pathfinder. looking forward to this.
Oh yeah! 🤙🏻
Looks good! Need to hit this up soon
Hell yeah, go sign up!
It looks like they're teasing some new trails. It looks like a whole new wooden trailhead, im not sure though. Can't wait to see what it really is!
You are correct! There’s a new wooden start ramp and a new black diamond tech trail. The trail isn’t quite done yet though. There’s some more jumplines in the dirt jump zone as well
Sick build. Atmospher tribute trail at the end is sweet.
Oh it’s a fun one 🤙🏻
That is so killer, can’t wait for this weekend!
Hell yeah, gonna be sick! 🦅🤙🏻🤙🏻
That final line looks awesome ❤😊🎉😮
It’s a blast 🤙🏻
Awesome! Can't wait to come see it!
Hell yeah! 🤙🏻
Epic look at the new trails Matt! Seriously I’ll be re-watching this, really well done! Looks like there’s something for basically any skill level here. Hope to get here yet this year before the snow falls 🤙
Appreciate it! Yeah definitely wanted something for all skills levels here. Beginner to true expert trail. Don’t talk about snow haha
This place looks super fun. May need to hit that next time I am up that way. 🤘😎
You definitely need to! 🤙🏻😁
This place looks sick! I love all the wood features and the trail named Forest Whitaker… That’s hilarious 🤘
Hell yeah, thanks Bobo! I’m a fan of what you do, been watching your stuff for a long time. 👊🏻
I do some subcontracting work under Nature Trails in the winter. Maybe I’ll see ya around in NC 🤙🏻
Pathfinder leveling up the trails in the metro once again. Great showcase of everything and how to ride it. Runaway Train looks sick, always wanted to ride a north shore style elevated boardwalk!
Appreciate it buddy. Runaway train is so good dude. I had nothing to do with building that trail but that’s the one I’m probably most stoked on
Holy shit 😅 Crazy build, especially loving the look of runaway train. Mega impressive. Great video man.
Thanks brother! I would say runaway train is probably the coolest and my favorite trail there. Just such a wild ride every time
Just ordered first hardtail, I'm really excited to check this out!! I used to race BMX, been out of it for a few years. These trails looks super fun
Hell yeah!! 🤙🏻
You made that look so easy. I've got some serious work to do 😃
Haha thanks. Just keep lapping out there 🤙🏻
LOL! I heard Dialed In's front case...
😂 yup! I was laughing so hard once I saw his video of it
It’s an awkward pull! I do want to attempt to defeat it though.
@@Dialed1 gotta get it dialed in bro
Amazing place, Sick riding, good catch!
🤙🏻🤙🏻
Those look so good. The work put into that must have taken forever! Thanks so much for all your work. I don’t think I can clear that black gravity line yet… I’ll stick to monarch with the black table line for now.
Appreciate that and yes it was a lot of work out there haha. The black jumpline is no joke for sure. I was pretty nervous about it honestly but it works
Afton as a city and area has not bothered to invest in high-speed internet infrastructure for it's residents, so I doubt they are going to change the need for a "hall pass" for riders anytime soon.
Haha touché
Looks incredible. Will this be a fee based park to ride for the public once it officially opens?
Nope. Plan is to keep it free
Hoping there’s some stuff some beginner jumpers can get into. I’ve found it hard to find something’s that’s not too easy and not too hard.
There’s definitely some more gnarly stuff there but it does have some easy jumps. Mostly the green line up in the skills area but is definitely good for learning. The green downhill trail only has one jump on it but is an easy trail that you can let loose and rip so the better you get on it the fast you can go and start launching some rollers
@@ridindirt sweet! Either way I’m checking it out next year. Love watching your vids.
@@figlermaert heck yeah! Thanks! 🤙🏻
This is really going to force me to finally tackle my fear of skinnies isn’t it?
Lol I suppose
Do you prefer riding 27.5 or 29er on trails like these?
27.5. But the bike I’m riding here is a mullet
Mullet is definitely the way to go! Do u know how much the bike rental costs for a session?
@@jackhoban8971 for sure! I’m not sure if he’s still doing rentals for this year. I know he sold off the rental fleet from last year. I think you can message the owner on the website though
What’s the climb back up like?
It’s not too bad. Some kinda steep sections but doesn’t take that long. Gotta earn your turns for sure though
Am I gonna be able to get you to ride the BMX jumps with me?
Maybe on a dirt jumper haha.
@@ridindirt Oh cmon! I'll let you borrow my 22" or somethin
@@erikhortsch haha I’ll give it shot
When’s it open during the week?
Not sure. I think you can message the owner through Localizedpark.com
I've tried many times to contact these people... they do not respond at all. I've not looked much this year, but a friendly response would be nice. I got nothing! I'll try one more time but otherwise I'm writing them off.
Ps. Feel like these places cater to bigger UA-cam as well, not little guys like me😢. Any thoughts or advise would be great. Thanks!!
Hmm that’s too bad. It’s just one busy ass guy who owns and runs it. Are you emailing through the website or dm on Instagram? I’m not even sure which one is better.
Also I’m not really sure what you mean by it caters to bigger UA-cam. It’s open to everyone. When it’s open that is
@ridindirt I contacted him threw website both times. Never done Instagram. I'll try again but I'm not sure either which ones better. I know it was weekends only for a bit but I work weekends so I'd need it to be thursday or Friday for sure.
As far asthe UA-cam it just feels like all the big UA-camrs are there the day of or before with exclusive, like people are selected to get exclusive on things... it's just observation I guess but I've been at a few opens and not seen this but I think some glory it up if that makes sense. I enjoy what I ride and film, no mistake but felt lately like there is almost a cult-like approach to the videos I see... probably take too long to explain other than that. Thanks anyways for info!!
@@elderraven8804 I think he’s actually more responsive on Instagram and that’s were he posts with updates and info for dig times.
As far as people getting exclusive access, I get access because I helped build the place and am buddies with the owner. The other people getting access while it’s not officially open are there a lot volunteering. There’s a big crew of people how help dig a bunch and get perks because of it. But all people are welcome to volunteer. I guess unfortunately if you’re not on Instagram you probably won’t know when dig days and times are.
looks wack... miswell just bike down a dirt road. barely any natural features and the paths are all about green level. only somewhat cool thing is the skinny, and its not even skinny..... its just 500' off the ground so if anyone DOES go off it... have fun in your wheelchair.
dirt jumps look great, rest looks like it was built by some geek riding a pivot who didnt want to scratch his bike.
lol right on
