      Thank you so much! In many cases I prefer to make videos with people who can't hula hoop so I can teach them in the video. Teaching someone who can already demonstrate it doesn't create a real experience for people watching. I feel a lot of people can benefit more from watching someone who is more at their skill level learning so they can see someone else's mistakes and learn what adjustments to make to be successful. I'm glad you can see this in the video.

      Are you able to make this work for you, now that you've had it over a month? I just got mine about a week ago and still can't manage to keep it spinning more than 10 times. I've been doing the 10 spins multiple times a day thinking that will still add up even though I can't seem to get it right to do a full 20-30 minutes at one time. Any tips you have would be super appreciated! Going to try the ones from this video too.

    • @SharonNailedIt
      @SharonNailedIt Місяць тому +2

      @mandiwolfe6631 Honestly, you just have to find your groove. I thought mine was broken, and then my mom, who is smaller, tried took links out and did it just fine with little effort. I just think with my size, I just had to try harder and not give up. Also be careful what clothes you wear. Loose clothes will get stuck in your hoop and cause it not to work. 😒 Had that problem, too. Lol

    • @SharonNailedIt
      @SharonNailedIt Місяць тому

      @@bridgetyancey6791 You just have to keep trying and watch out for baggy clothes that can get stuck in your hoop ring and stop it from spinning.

    I'm so glad I found this video! I ordered one few days ago and didn't have a single clue on how to use it. Arrived yesterday and can't even make it go 2 rounds.
    I tried making it longer and now I have used it for 30 mins straight! (with few stops at start) It's definitely harder doing it clockwise. I suggest trying both techniques at first. My counter clockwise was the 1st and my clockwise was the second. If you're like me, change you're feet position for the 1st technique half-way just for balance. The funny thing was the bumps felt like it was massaging my stomach 😂 It was fun!

    • @Bevity
      @Bevity 9 місяців тому +3

      I suppose I bought a fake too, it doesn't have the black part where you can add or remove links. The ball isn't weighted, but it is in 2 pieces, so it can be opened and something heavy put in there, like nuts and bolts. Mine needs to be taped shut, but it seems it will work like the one in the video. I couldn't get it going, so found this video. I hope I have success this time!

    Thanks for the video. I used to be great using a Hulu hoop. I see on this thing have to adjust the ball

    These tips helped, I used to make the cord as short as possible as I thought it would be easier, but I couldn't keep swinging the ball. Made it longer and it went better, but still couldn''t do it for more than 10 rounds. I lowered the hoop to my hips and now I can keep swinging it. I wonder if has the same effect on the hip as having it on the waist, as I notice I'm barely moving my body to keep it turning. While with a regular weighted hoop I move my body a lot to keep it spinning

    Several of the different vendors/manufacturers say they recommend moving your hips like a belly dance move, movíng your hips and abdomen in a circle instead of a side to side/back and forth motion. That seems to work better for me. It allowed me to adjust and get the hang of it a lot faster.

    • @CadaverBelle
      @CadaverBelle 3 роки тому

      I tried that because the back and forth feels weird but I can’t keep my rotations up belly dancing 🥲

      Honestly, the back and forth and side to side motions are jus to help you get started. If you use another method you like, that's fine. The goal is to good good enough so you can use all methods together and moving around with your smart hoop, instead of just only sticking to one method to hula hooping

    I have this system and I like it. I started practicing today. I can only do one way, so I will have to practice going the other way as well. But, I do feel that it is quite noisy. Is there a way to 'turn the volume down'?

    Excellent video, thank you. Great for me to see someone with a similar body shape struggling as I did, to get this thing moving! Very helpful to have the suggestion of lengthening the string, which I will try. I was on the verge of giving up on my weighted hoop, but this video has renewed my interest and I will be giving it another go.
