Esa antena that you got the hys 51 inches cambie the one on my President Randy 2 y mi alcanza es increíble mi distancia a cambiado de una milla max de la original a 3.4 millas y me escuchan bien. Muy buena antena and cheap on amazon
I like that 51 inch telescope. I keep that one in backpack with me too, I have a cigar holder I use to keep it in as a case so it don't get bent but also use the 16 inch as well, it's really good when walking around so I don't accidentally bend telescope on anything. If you hook it up with new President Randy II handheld radio it increases the range even more than the other handhelds for some reason. Really good radio.
Im curious were you transmitting in your vehicle?? The difference in your transmission in either direction, im wondering if it was using your vehicle as a ground plain. If more of the vehicle was forward of you it could be the reason of the directional transmission. Or it could just have been the atmosphere conditions. Especially since both antennas are verticals they should not be directional at all.
Good point. Yes I was in my vehicle with a K40 model K30 magnet antenna. Well centered on the roof of my Colorado truck. The atmosphere conditions makes a lot of sense.
@@practicalgadgetsandstuffSo, to clarify, for purposes of the test, you put the Midland handheld on your desk at home (with the 51" telescopic attached), put a video cam on it to capture your incoming transmissions, and used your "true mobile" rig out in the community to announce your various locations back to the Midland unit?
@@williamj.sheehan2001 That is correct William. Stay tuned, I just got a simplex repeater that I'm going to use for antenna testing. Is awesome. Preparing a video for next week. Thanks for watching!
