1. Accepting that God cares “deeply” about how we treat our bodies. 2. Working out consistently with a trainer. 3. Getting rid of the junk. 4. Boundaries. 5. Commitment to the journey. 6. Reading the Bible. “Man does not live on bread alone but by every Word of God.” (: Let’s all try to treat our bodies like a temple ❤
Healthy tip #6 Lean on God when your “motivation” isn’t enough! Some days I don’t have enough energy to show up for myself so I show up for God instead since He always is there for me.
Great video, I believe starting your morning with God is imperative. The first 15 minute rule spend the first 15 minutes of your day with God(prayer, praise& worship, 5 minute devotional, 10 minute bible study, meditation or gratitude journaling). Not your emails, no social media or checking text messages.I believe this sets a standard for your day, sometimes we forget “seek ye first the kingdom of God”… It’s truly a blessing to being “Fit” in the lord!

Great video! Tip number 6 I would suggest intermittent fasting. Daily devotion with God on an empty stomach and an empty mind, ready to be filled with the nourishment of His word has been a heaven on earth experience for me in 2023. I pray this helps someone!
Great Message! I was almost 300lbs last August '22, but when I was rushed to the hospital from being in excruciating pain due to a health issue, motivated me to loose weight & start my new lifestyle. Since on my journey of working out from 5 to 6 days a week at the gym, walking 3 miles 4 to 5 times a week during the summer and working out with Grow with Jo since I started nutri system, as of today, I lost almost 80lbs. June was the last month I had an order from nutri system. I feel amazing!!!

I didn't have to think to eat healthy. I am not well and feel stuck in Destruction path when i wasn't this way at all. Everything I had and used to do in Christ and church Gone.
Healthy Tip #6 spend 10 mins a day in stillness with God. Mental clarity plays a huge part in mind and body goals and strengthens our flesh and spirit.
Im struggling with binge eating I prayed today God equip me with strength to break these bad habits and he always come through with the messages I come across!! ❤

One thing that has helped me with gluttony is “ Never give your body all it wants at any time”. When you want 3 drumsticks have only 2. When you usually have 3 consecutive meals only have 2. Limit what you usually do and when you do so ask God for the strength to be generous to those in need and practice self control ✝️🫶🏾if the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you CAN DO IT. Read Philippians 4:12-13, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 NIV

I was watching an interesting documentary today about the food industry (especially about sugar) and I got so disgusted. The way sugar affects our bodies really had me thinking twice. How it creates an addiction stronger than hard drugs & how we as Christians might turn it into an idol. I thank God for giving me a confirmation haha. I love your videos Melody. They are always a delight.
this just came for me. my sugar addiction comes in the form of latte’s (Vanilla iced latte made with soy milk, but only 3 pumps of vanilla) I’ve noticed I get this everyday because it’s just so comforting for me😩
The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that I struggle with emotional eating. This is something I have dealt with since 4 years old! I'm 31 now. I understand that change won't come overnight but I am more aware about the things I eat and the frequency that I eat and "why" I'm eating. I typically eat when I'm bored and I noticed the habit forming in my children. I never thought of emotional eating as a generational curse but I am on the journey of breaking this in my life and my family's life. I keep a food journal to acknowledge what I'm eating and how often. I'll add a symbol when I'm eating due to an emotion vs actually being hungry. There are certain foods I don't buy anymore when I go grocery shopping. This has helped me out too. I want to treat my temple with respect! I want the Holy Spirit to dwell in a holy place inside of me. I no longer want to fill it with junk! Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for this video it was so timely! 6th Holy girl healthy habit would be fasting from social media. It allows me to de-clutter my mind which allows me to hear clearly from the Lord. Social media is great; however, it can be a distraction and cause you to compare your journey with others that God never intended for you to worry about.
Such a good one!! It can truly be such a distraction and something that’s so built into our everyday lives, i love the idea of purposefully fasting from it to draw closer to God and take care of our minds!
@LifeWithDeezy Hey! I usually pray before I start the fast, and I just ask the Lord to speak to me during the time that I choose to be off of social media. Sometimes I am off for a couple of days, and sometimes it's for a month. Instead of scrolling, I will use that time to read the Bible, pray, just be still and ask God to speak. I also turn off the notifications, so that I won't be tempted to go back on before the fast is up. Praying that helps!
6. Getting into God's presence every day. When we step into his presence, we are taken care of emotionally, mentally and spiritually, and as a result, we are in better physical health.
I’ve felt soooo convicted about my music. I listen to rap music while working out. I want to find some good Christian rap that can help me get pumped and not be filth in my mind.
I would add, pray for discipline and to be able to sustain the lifestyle change especially if you have fear of change. You need a mindset shift and grace from God to maintain your commitment to being better. ❤
I'm on this same journey right now. Holy Spirit really pressed the importance of my body being his temple. Right now it is mostly about what I am physically putting in my body. Being mindful of ingredients and what is real. I feel like running across this video was confirmation to keep going. Thank you for sharing this!
I’ve been praying on this particular part of my life, not only for myself but for my family. I laugh at little things on how God has answered one of my prayers-> eating out/ fast food. Every time I eat out with my family recently the food has been absolutely not good, to the point my foods been undercooked or even when I tried to get away with eating at “fresh” fast food places like in’n’out here in cali, it doesn’t taste the same. So I’m accepting that the Holy Spirit is at work for sure! Gods given me a vision and I’m so so very blessed to have your episode come up in my journey now. As you said now that you know your why and how deeply God wants for us to be healed and have power and authority in His Temple, I have a focus and desire to worship Him with my body. Thank you for your witness and your ministry!! Our Father is so Good!
This is super helpful. I struggle a lot in this area but God is helping me through. I would add fasting to the list. Fasting has mental and spiritual benefits but it has physical benefits as well when done right.

May God continue to bless you Melody ❤ Unfortunately, I don't have the privilege of accessing the foods that will nourish my body, due to my circumstances. At the moment I feel like the Israelites who were eating Manna to survive. However, I have been praying unceasingly for God's provision of food to abound. I know that God will answer my prayer because the prayer of a holy person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). God keeps reminding me that he is giving me everything I need to survive everyday. I know his provision is there, but sometimes I struggle to discern and appreciate it. I feel weak but that means God is going to intercede and make me strong (2 Corinthians 12:10). Glory to God ❤
As someone who has struggled with body image and eating disorders for most of her life- I would have to say the Holy Girl Habit that I’ve been convicted of is idolizing my earthly body. I can definitely place too much focus in the “here and now” version of me when it comes to food and fitness instead of the eternal perspective I get to experience with my Heavenly Father 🤍 When I obsess out of fear and vanity I’m bound to be disappointed and dissatisfied 🤷🏻♀️ This was a great message in stewarding our bodies for HIS glory! 🙌🏻 Thanks sis! 💓
Why does this make me emotional? I have a lot of self hate and thinking of how I treat my body is very hurtful and I forget that my body doesn’t hate me and just wants to keep me alive. Thank you for reminding me that our bodies deserve to be cared for💗
I have been really struggling with eating healthy, and staying active, and yesterday I prayed to God for Him to please bring me advice on how to take care of myself, and no lie, I got the notification about this video not too long after
I would say the 6th holy girl habit is REST! Sometimes I get so focused on numbers and checking things off my list I miss that resting and allowing God to speak to me in His still small voice. Melody, thanks for this amazing video! God bless you!

Girl, you and I are on the same page💕 I read a book that keep reminding me that my body is a temple. Also challenging to daily keep this body clean and healthy for the King who lives in me. My sixth habit would be rest. I overwork myself so much and get overwhelmed to try and do everything 🥴The Lord encourages rest as this is a time of reflection but also we shouldn’t get struck in resting, something I had to learn during winter🙈
I used food as comfort since i was a child. Now in my 20s God has blessed me to be able to lose weight by working with a trainer. I also try to ask the Lord to help me honor Him with my eating when I pray over my food. Game changer for me! I also wanted to add because it came to my mind. Keeping up with your hygiene is another way to treat your body as a temple. Showering, brusshing/flossing, even moisturizing. If I ever have kids then i would love to teach them this

So true about boundaries. I used to listen to a podcast that I found so fun to listen to, gave me a little dose of drama and just felt like girl talk, but eventually I noticed that I was carrying this negative mindset around with me, always expecting the worst. (the podcast basically reviewed negative interpersonal interactions they read about on the internet) I was sad to let it go at first, but now I can absolutely tell that it was negatively effecting my mind, and I feel so much better and more positive and hopeful.
I would say number 6 is listening. We should listen to out bodies when we feel uncomfortable around someone or something. We need to tune into why we feel the way we do
It’s beautiful to hear things that the HS puts in our hearts, especially when others say them out loud. I love this list, one other one the HS has told me is to have standards. Standards in what you eat, eating like the princesses we are.

The way I decided to put my phone down and spend time with the Lord this morning talking to him about committing my body to him therefor I was committing to working out honoring his temple and that I knew I was going to struggle with watching my guilty pleasure shows and said I was gonna start that later, and you reminded me that shows are apart of this journey too. I have been doing well with this as God slowly started me on this particular journey about 7 months ago! I was searching for ways outside of him or on my own and I got no where! I am now between waking up at 5-5:30am. It has not been consistent, but I thank God for His grace and coaching me to give myself grace! Everything that you have mentioned in this video God has been tearing up in my life lol. I asked God to do it... get me to my goals, You know the best way ... clearly I can't do it by myself... and here I am! The improvements have been astounding! Like you said Melody,] I would love to just be where God is training me to be with a snap of the finger, but ALL IN HIS TIMING and I welcome it! Couldn't do this without Him! He hasn't expanded my training to the gym yet but He is definitely lining everything up! LET'S GOOO Y'ALL 🎉💃🏾🔥

After I had my daughter I gained weight over time due to seeking comfort in food due to the overwhelming amount of stress that I have endured. Losing weight has be strongly on my mind but I believe that this is a confirmation from God for me to go ahead and take the first step on doing better for my health as I continue to seek him. I was watching this video crying, I have always been a person that is active. I had lost a lot of wait last year during grief. As time went on I began gaining weight back but lately I have Been feeling over weight and not liking myself for how I look now. I’m working out trying hard to watch what I eat and I at times. 2 hours before watching your video I received a phone call from the nurse regarding my bloodwork. I have to get my cholesterol level normal in order to start my conceiving journey. Been so kin to what am feeding between the spirit and flesh and since last week I have been postponing on detoxifying for atleast 3days,then start to eat clean. BUT I hadn’t thought about eating healthily on that level. To me this is mind blowing and thank you so much for allowing God to use you.

A habit I would add is prepping meals in advance. I had someone prep break, lunch, dinner, and two snacks for me for 5 months and I lost 45lbs. I hated the idea of meal prep but after having someone do it for 5 months it's become a habit I actually enjoy and its so much easier to heat a meal rather than buying fast food every day.
I am at this place right now where I have to invite God into every area of my life! Like it is detrimental. To break old habits, to be consistent in this walk that I have been on for so long! I think it is definitely important to start my day with God and to end my day with God! Thank you for this video

I just started watching your videos and am a new subscriber. I genuinely enjoy your content and I am trying to break away from being a “lukewarm” Christian and really learning to trust and lean on God and all these wonderful videos keep pooping up! No coincidence ❤. Tip #6 I would say is to stay in the doctors office. Get checked yearly or even semi-yearly. Go to the dentist. Get your blood work done. Do all necessary testing. We all know the medical industry agenda is too make money but it’s important for us to go BEFORE something major happens. I’d rather pay for routine bloodwork than pay for chemo! And if I can kindly add a 7th tip I would say to pay attention to what goes ON your body just as much as IN it. Our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs almost everything. Watch the additives, toxic chemicals, artificial coloring, medicine, etc. The world doesn’t care anything about our health, we have to make the difference. It’s hard! But so worth it!
The discipline or acceptance that God is in everything even my music has been real! I’m listening to music to see what is actually not for me and just deleting! Understanding that the song might be catchy but it’s not for me spiritually and not feeding me in a positive way. And yes it is that deep :)

A holy girl habit I'd like to add is journaling. Keep a journal, write things down dreams, goals, visions, feelings. Let it all out in your journal.

I was watching an interesting documentary today about the food industry (especially about sugar) and I got so disgusted. The way sugar affects our bodies really had me thinking twice. How it creates an addiction stronger than hard drugs & how we as Christians might turn it into an idol. I thank God for giving me a confirmation haha. I love your videos Melody. this just came for me. my sugar addiction comes in the form of latte’s (Vanilla iced latte made with soy milk, but only 3 pumps of vanilla)
I’ve noticed I get this everyday because it’s just so comforting for me😩
The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that I struggle with emotional eating. This is something I have dealt with since 4 years old! I'm 31 now. I understand that change won't come overnight but I am more aware about the things I eat and the frequency that I eat and "why" I'm eating. I typically eat when I'm bored and I noticed the habit forming in my children. I never thought of emotional eating as a generational curse but I am on the journey of breaking this in my life and my family's life. I keep a food journal to acknowledge what I'm eating and how often. I'll add a symbol when I'm eating due to an emotion vs actually being hungry. There are certain foods I don't buy anymore when I go grocery shopping. This has helped me out too. I want to treat my temple with respect! I want the Holy Spirit to dwell in a holy place inside of me. I no longer want to fill it with junk! Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for this video it was so timely! 6th Holy girl healthy habit would be fasting from social media. It allows me to de-clutter my mind which allows me to hear clearly from the Lord. Social media is great; however, it can be a distraction and cause you to compare your journey with others that God never intended for you to worry about.
Such a good one!! It can truly be such a distraction and something that’s so built into our everyday lives, i love the idea of purposefully fasting from it to draw closer to God and take care of our minds!
@LifeWithDeezy Hey! I usually pray before I start the fast, and I just ask the Lord to speak to me during the time that I choose to be off of social media. Sometimes I am off for a couple of days, and sometimes it's for a month. Instead of scrolling, I will use that time to read the Bible, pray, just be still and ask God to speak. I also turn off the notifications, so that I won't be tempted to go back on before the fast is up. Praying that helps!

6. Getting into God's presence every day.
When we step into his presence, we are taken care of emotionally, mentally and spiritually, and as a result, we are in better physical health.
I’ve felt soooo convicted about my music. I listen to rap music while working out. I want to find some good Christian rap that can help me get pumped and not be filth in my mind.

I'm on this same journey right now. Holy Spirit really pressed the importance of my body being his temple. Right now it is mostly about what I am physically putting in my body. Being mindful of ingredients and what is real. I feel like running across this video was confirmation to keep going. Thank you for sharing this!
I’ve been praying on this particular part of my life, not only for myself but for my family. I laugh at little things on how God has answered one of my prayers-> eating out/ fast food. Every time I eat out with my family recently the food has been absolutely not good, to the point my foods been undercooked or even when I tried to get away with eating at “fresh” fast food places like in’n’out here in cali, it doesn’t taste the same. So I’m accepting that the Holy Spirit is at work for sure! Gods given me a vision and I’m so so very blessed to have your episode come up in my journey now. As you said now that you know your why and how deeply God wants for us to be healed and have power and authority in His Temple, I have a focus and desire to worship Him with my body. Thank you for your witness and your ministry!! Our Father is so Good!
This is super helpful. I struggle a lot in this area but God is helping me through. I would add fasting to the list. Fasting has mental and spiritual benefits but it has physical benefits as well when done right.
Love this comment and can definitely relate! I did a fast a few months ago and it completely changed my attitude towards food, specifically with being mindful of my portions.

Unfortunately, I don't have the privilege of accessing the foods that will nourish my body, due to my circumstances. At the moment I feel like the Israelites who were eating Manna to survive. However, I have been praying unceasingly for God's provision of food to abound. I know that God will answer my prayer because the prayer of a holy person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). God keeps reminding me that he is giving me everything I need to survive everyday. I know his provision is there, but sometimes I struggle to discern and appreciate it. I feel weak but that means God is going to intercede and make me strong (2 Corinthians 12:10). Glory to God ❤
As someone who has struggled with body image and eating disorders for most of her life- I would have to say the Holy Girl Habit that I’ve been convicted of is idolizing my earthly body. I can definitely place too much focus in the “here and now” version of me when it comes to food and fitness instead of the eternal perspective I get to experience with my Heavenly Father 🤍
When I obsess out of fear and vanity I’m bound to be disappointed and dissatisfied 🤷🏻♀️

Why does this make me emotional? I have a lot of self hate and thinking of how I treat my body is very hurtful and I forget that my body doesn’t hate me and just wants to keep me alive. Thank you for reminding me that our bodies deserve to be cared for💗
Every morning I spend part of my daughters morning nap with the Lord in prayer, ESV study, and memorizing verses to battle the day🤺😊
I have been really struggling with eating healthy, and staying active, and yesterday I prayed to God for Him to please bring me advice on how to take care of myself, and no lie, I got the notification about this video not too long after
I would say the 6th holy girl habit is REST! Sometimes I get so focused on numbers and checking things off my list I miss that resting and allowing God to speak to me in His still small voice.

Girl, you and I are on the same page💕 I read a book that keep reminding me that my body is a temple. Also challenging to daily keep this body clean and healthy for the King who lives in me.
My sixth habit would be rest. I overwork myself so much and get overwhelmed to try and do everything 🥴The Lord encourages rest as this is a time of reflection but also we shouldn’t get struck in resting, something I had to learn during winter🙈
Im stepping up my cleaning goals. God blessed us with this dream condo and I know I can do better with his provisions
I used food as comfort since i was a child. Now in my 20s God has blessed me to be able to lose weight by working with a trainer. I also try to ask the Lord to help me honor Him with my eating when I pray over my food. Game changer for me! I also wanted to add because it came to my mind. Keeping up with your hygiene is another way to treat your body as a temple. Showering, brusshing/flossing, even moisturizing. If I ever have kids then i would love to teach them this
Ive been working through a devotional about body image and over eating. I struggle with emotional eating. And Ive tried so many things. When you said “it is that deep” I felt it ❤ thank you Melody
So true about boundaries. I used to listen to a podcast that I found so fun to listen to, gave me a little dose of drama and just felt like girl talk, but eventually I noticed that I was carrying this negative mindset around with me, always expecting the worst. (the podcast basically reviewed negative interpersonal interactions they read about on the internet) I was sad to let it go at first, but now I can absolutely tell that it was negatively effecting my mind, and I feel so much better and more positive and hopeful.
I would say number 6 is listening. We should listen to out bodies when we feel uncomfortable around someone or something. We need to tune into why we feel the way we do
It’s beautiful to hear things that the HS puts in our hearts, especially when others say them out loud. I love this list, one other one the HS has told me is to have standards. Standards in what you eat, eating like the princesses we are.

Wow, this was literally right on time! And so in alignment with what God has been speaking to me recently. Starting a fitness routine, taking more time to plan out my meals, and taking better care of my body! You always come through with the come through! 💛

Healthy Habit #6: Stay hydrated by illuminating juice and soda with water. Sometimes we confuse hunger with thirst because we are dehydrated.

My 6th habit would be prioritizing fellowship outside of the Sunday gathering. I currently don't have consistent fellowship, but I've been believing in faith to meet sisters in Christ that I can fellowship with physically on a weekly basis!
The way I decided to put my phone down and spend time with the Lord this morning talking to him about committing my body to him therefor I was committing to working out honoring his temple and that I knew I was going to struggle with watching my guilty pleasure shows and said I was gonna start that later, and you reminded me that shows are apart of this journey too. Eyes are the gates to the soul! Just as important as physical health!! ❤️❤️❤️

My sixth holy girl habit is to wake up every morning at 5 am! I have been doing well with this as God slowly started me on this particular journey about 7 months ago! I was searching for ways outside of him or on my own and I got no where! I am now between waking up at 5-5:30am. It has not been consistent, but I thank God for His grace and coaching me to give myself grace!
Everything that you have mentioned in this video God has been tearing up in my life lol. I asked God to do it... get me to my goals, You know the best way ... clearly I can't do it by myself... and here I am! The improvements have been astounding! Like you said Melody,] I would love to just be where God is training me to be with a snap of the finger, but ALL IN HIS TIMING and I welcome it! Couldn't do this without Him! After I had my daughter I gained weight over time due to seeking comfort in food due to the overwhelming amount of stress that I have endured. Losing weight has be strongly on my mind but I believe that this is a confirmation from God for me to go ahead and take the first step on doing better for my health as I continue to seek him. I was watching this video crying, I have always been a person that is active.
I had lost a lot of wait last year during grief. As time went on I began gaining weight back but lately I have Been feeling over weight and not liking myself for how I look now. I’m working out trying hard to watch what I eat and I at times. Ridding our minds of the junk that’s in there really matters

2 hours before watching your video I received a phone call from the nurse regarding my bloodwork. I have to get my cholesterol level normal in order to start my conceiving journey. I sat here for two hours working & thinking of a plan with God & run into your video. This is great…thank you for allowing yourself to be used as a vessel for the Lord.
Been so kin to what am feeding between the spirit and flesh and since last week I have been postponing on detoxifying for atleast 3days,then start to eat clean. BUT I hadn’t thought about eating healthily on that level. To me this is mind blowing and thank you so much for allowing God to use you.

A habit I would add is prepping meals in advance. I had someone prep break, lunch, dinner, and two snacks for me for 5 months and I lost 45lbs. I hated the idea of meal prep but after having someone do it for 5 months it's become a habit I actually enjoy and its so much easier to heat a meal rather than buying fast food every day.
I find great free workout videos or exercises on UA-cam. I just need to commit to a consistent schedule!
I am at this place right now where I have to invite God into every area of my life! Like it is detrimental. To break old habits, to be consistent in this walk that I have been on for so long! I think it is definitely important to start my day with God and to end my day with God! Thank you for this video

Just came back from the gym, listened to my bible app on the walk home and I opened youtube and seen this, I just love your channel.
I just started watching your videos and am a new subscriber. I genuinely enjoy your content and I am trying to break away from being a “lukewarm” Christian and really learning to trust and lean on God and all these wonderful videos keep pooping up! No coincidence ❤.
Tip #6 I would say is to stay in the doctors office. Get checked yearly or even semi-yearly. Go to the dentist. Get your blood work done. Do all necessary testing. We all know the medical industry agenda is too make money but it’s important for us to go BEFORE something major happens. I’d rather pay for routine bloodwork than pay for chemo!
And if I can kindly add a 7th tip I would say to pay attention to what goes ON your body just as much as IN it. Our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs almost everything. Watch the additives, toxic chemicals, artificial coloring, medicine, etc. The world doesn’t care anything about our health, we have to make the difference. It’s hard! But so worth it!
The discipline or acceptance that God is in everything even my music has been real! I’m listening to music to see what is actually not for me and just deleting! Understanding that the song might be catchy but it’s not for me spiritually and not feeding me in a positive way. And yes it is that deep :)

My #6 is. Prioritize rest/sleep. When I don't get proper sleep, I am more likely to derail my other commitments, eat junk, and do whatever is needed to stay awake and maintain focus because my brain and body are exhausted. ❤The Lord bless you and your daughter, your family. 😊
