I use my eye to level the tiles , saves on spirit levels, battens, spacers and screws. Easy money in my pocket. FYI I'm not very busy with work if anyone needs a hand.
Thanks for this. I had not been sure if it was OK to put the adhesive on the tiles as I was taught many years ago to put adhesive on an area of wall. The problem with that is you might do too big an area and have to remove excess at the end.
The tiles at the bottom left & right corners are high as they go into the reveal. (at 3:31 mins) It looks quite bad where they aren't level with the trim.
wow! there are alot of amateur things going on here, quite embarrassing tbh. first off, it looks like your layout from left to right is centered incorrectly, yes the window is centered, but if you had moved the complete right to left layout over one half tile, you would of had big centered cuts everywhere instead of those smaller cuts. also tiling the sill should be done before the sides, not after. you never shimmed the schluters to be completely even with the tiles edge. you should always apply adhesive to walls also, not just tile. you also didn't use enough adhesive when you were tiling the bottom section, you can clearly see the wall boards in between the trowel notches. and what's with starting on that board? that's just a waste of time because you now have to shimm from that board and then shimm again at base, if you just start at bottom, your just shimming once and you don't have to spend the time screwing and leveling that board. just make a level line up from base 1 or 2 tiles and shim to it, then keep going up. lots of mistakes imo
vapdivrr you posted the same comment twice?are you a tile setter by trade? If so maybe you should post some videos so others can critique your work. I'm not saying this guy did a good job and your right about everything you said.im just saying.
this is actually poor tiling, no levelling tools, edges are scrappy, the way he applies adhesive was dreadful! the whole back of the tile should have a full layer
Why not have 3 full tiles rather than have to cut all the bottom row. So what if the tiles would be a couple inches higher up the wall. Weird. Also no explanation of the window sil trim. You seem to have left the sil tiles short of the trim? This would then need to be filled with grout. Not a nice look. Trim is so you don't have grout along those corners/bends.
incorrect. Around windows tikes needs to be angled, otherwise water will stand. No need to use any profiles for hiding, cut tiles in an angle... like 45 degree
That rare occasion when you say who the bloody hell gave this 29 up votes! Start at the top...then only tile half way up...oh, the list is endless...worst vid ever!!!!

Well, i'm assuming that batten he used wasn't from B and Q, or it wouldn't of even been straight...
Funniest video I’ve seen for ages

instablaster.
I have a motorway bridge that needs reinforcing. Interested?

I noticed that too David!! That would irritate me, I'd have had him correct it before giving him his cuppa.
It's a poor tiling job and a poor instructional film to boot!
What's happening with the tiles being proud of the trim. Rough as toast

OMG what a cowboy 🤠😂🤣🤣
Beautiful work
That guys works in my local b&q and stands at the door and says hello all the time done well for himself
Stevie wonder would be happy to see that
And he got a cuppa tea at the end.wow
TSCL_LuFc-Jackツ 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
He barely back buttered that tile tho. This going in a shower? Ouch
The corner miter is an uneven join. Won't that get moisture inside?
this is actually poor tiling, no levelling tools, edges are scrappy, the way he applies adhesive was dreadful! the whole back of the tile should have a full layer
Yes, the corner must be decorated with ceramic tiles, for the sake of beauty and safety.
Oh god.. there was no adhesive at all around the edges where that tile strip went in.
Hes Having a right mare with that trowel
Wow! That’s rough!
Should be titled How NOT to tile around window.
Thank you..now i look really good :)
WELL DONE, CHEERS
Thanks
Why does he have to start tiling by the window? Waiting for the adhesive to set before he can remove the support will just delay the job.
Nicely mansplained at the end, and good girl bringing up the tea!
😒
How it should be!
She forgot his sandwich! 😂
U don't need any support wood for holding tiles if you use good adhesive not ready mixed shit
Suggested title change - "Why Not to Tile Windows by Yourself"
Bloody awful around that window

This man isn’t a tiler ...
What a joke! Tiles not fully buttered.Tiles cut inacurrately. Trim inserted AFTER tiles laid(!)- remind me not to follow B and Q advice on anything.
I wouldn’t get paid for that job.
Hahahahaha! Omg the comments here! Lmfao! Mr. Magoo doing tile hahahahaha.

The left lower corner tile is uneven.
Guy's guy's come on it is BQ after all !!! Did you expect anything more than shite....?
It's easier to remove adhesive before it hardens. Huh, who knew....?
My dad could do a better job than this, and he’s never done any tiling ! And he’s been dead for 23 years!!!
That rare occasion when you say who the bloody hell gave this 29 up votes! Start at the top...then only tile half way up...oh, the list is endless...worst vid ever!!!!
I'm off for a little cry.
I only tiled twice and mine looks so much better than his crappy job
i tried to tile my bathroom floor and walls once... made a right pigs ear of it.
Omg and he’s got a B&q shirt..he’s got to be fired by now
How about using bullnose tile on the edges instead of amateur looking metal edging?
😆😆😆😆😆 It's satire, right?
The wrong thing is happening
Flipping rookies
That jobs shite.
That’s poor wow 😮
wow thats a bad job
and this is a tutorial LMAO im no tiler but that is poor tiling
Tile sill last...fail!
Ty Seng i
Absolutely terrible , no one should use this as a guide
Looks horrible
