Once in awhile I'll come across a Robin Williams clip.. and for a moment there's this disbelief that he's actually gone. He was so full of life and no matter what, he had something funny to say. His own unique view on things that would often just make me burst out laughing. He was a brilliant comedian and the world was fortunate to have his presence. He really was a gift. RIP Robin. I hope you're cracking them up along with Farley, Candy, Belushi and others.
As a person living with depression, I remember crying when I learned of his passing. My thought was if he can't find help, what hope is there for the rest of us? He was such a true gem. I will always miss him.
I hope you can find peace. Dealing with bad depression for 20+ years myself. Hell that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Try to keep reaching out, be in nature, get excercise if you can. If I can manage to get up and out, excercise helps as any med. Did 8 Ketamine infusions over the past few years which was helpful though I'm sure not for everyone. Take care of yourself best you can. And yes Robin was such an amazing, talented person.
No two people have the exact same brain chemistry. The longer we live, the more we understand about the way the brain and the body work. Millions of chemicals and electronic signals....it's room for a lot of variation. There is always hope. How much, depends on how life is going for you today. Small steps can result in huge change.
Please remember, Robin did not just suffer depression. Would that it could have been so. The disease he had not only had no cure, and not much in the way of palliative relief, but would, ultimately, literally have robbed him of his mind. "Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a disease associated with abnormal deposits of a protein called alpha-synuclein in the brain. These deposits, called Lewy bodies, affect chemicals in the brain whose changes, in turn, can lead to problems with thinking, movement, behavior, and mood."

He was in my AA group in San Francisco and he was the not only the funniest but the nicest kindest person one could have the pleasure of meeting. He suffered in a lot of silence and I wish he would have let more people know what was going on so he wouldn't have taken his own life.. sad

I live in the SF bay area and now wish I could have met him live at the Thockmorton Theatre, Mill Valley, CA where he would often appear during Comedy night (along with Mort Sahl), I am told. A gem of a human being and talent Divine! So missed. RIP.

His mentor, Jonathan Winters, kept him going. Winters himself had some dark times. He was institutionalized for about 6 months in the early 60s, I believe.

I still live with sadness in my heart with the loss of such great human being as Robin Williams was.. I never met him in person, just on movie theaters and TV yet I always felt that he was authentic.. My heart goes out to his family and I wish they know that R.W. was one of the best.. I heard on one of these youtube video's that Robin came from a fairly well off family. Obviously didn't go to his head as he seems like a very generous, down to earth working class type of guy. Absolute genuis and sorely missed.

Robin was able to cheer him up for the first time after his accident that left him paralyzed. He showed up as a Russian gynecologist, to examine a pregnant lady. Made Chris laugh. for some reason i can picture this scene in my head in detail :)

Ya know... He was more than just brilliantly talented in comedy, theatre and movie acting. He was SO prescient about everything that was happening at that particular time and so clearly versed in both recent and older past. Here he is with Jay Leno, a man that many consider to be super funny and I can't help seeing him trying to not hurt Jay as he just gets all the poignant and funny bits over again and again. Since his passing, we've watched an arguably failing businessman making himself over as a reality star become President of these United States. At the same time, a very talented (I guess) comedian made his way to President of the Ukraine, who now is showing that he has the strength to face tyranny. What if Robin Williams genius could have been brought to take on this current absurdity? I loved his work, admired him and will always be sad that he is gone!

From the first time I saw Robin, I was laughing a lot and it's been that way ever since. He was my favorite comedian because I could keep up with his quick wit going in a million directions. You are sorely missed Robin.
Met him once in Prince Rupert BC. He was coming off four days of partying on a cruise boat where Little Feat was the onboard band and guests of Bill Gates included Deepak Chopra, Debbie Reynolds, Jean Michel Cousteau, Quincy Jones and Jeff Goldblum. Robin was tired but he was still going a mile a minute spinning out dazzling, incredible spiderwebs of words. Totally brilliant and irreplaceable and we miss him so much.

I heard on one of these youtube video's that Robin came from a fairly well off family. Obviously didn't go to his head as he seems like a very generous, down to earth working class type of guy. Absolute genuis and sorely missed.

Robin was able to cheer him up for the first time after his accident that left him paralyzed. He showed up as a Russian gynecologist, to examine a pregnant lady. Made Chris laugh. for some reason i can picture this scene in my head in detail :)

Ya know... He was more than just brilliantly talented in comedy, theatre and movie acting.
He was SO prescient about everything that was happening at that particular time and so clearly versed in both recent and older past.
Here he is with Jay Leno, a man that many consider to be super funny and I can't help seeing him trying to not hurt Jay as he just gets all the poignant and funny bits over again and again.
Since his passing, we've watched an arguably failing businessman making himself over as a reality star become President of these United States. At the same time, a very talented (I guess) comedian made his way to President of the Ukraine, who now is showing that he has the strength to face tyranny.
What if Robin Williams genius could have been brought to take on this current absurdity?
I loved his work, admired him and will always be sad that he is gone!

From the first time I saw Robin, I was laughing a lot and it's been that way ever since. He was my favorite comedian because I could keep up with his quick wit going in a million directions. You are sorely missed Robin.

Met him once in Prince Rupert BC. He was coming off four days of partying on a cruise boat where Little Feat was the onboard band and guests of Bill Gates included Deepak Chopra, Debbie Reynolds, Jean Michel Cousteau, Quincy Jones and Jeff Goldblum. Robin was tired but he was still going a mile a minute spinning out dazzling, incredible spiderwebs of words. Totally brilliant and irreplaceable and we miss him so much.
Robin was absolutely majestic.
