I never liked to check raise because it makes people afraid to bet. If you don't get action you just lose all your money to the casino.

Great video, and appreciate sorting out the lighting issue. Great content as always.
I like the CR at the low stakes bounty tournaments I play because the weak loose aggressive players there which make up the bulk it seems see it as a challenge and will regularly dump the entire stack in with only top pair... which makes me playing most trips, 2 pair, and some combo flush/straight hand plenty of bounties. Like everything though - do it too often and it becomes exploitable.
    Cheers!

This is honestly the best video I have watched that you made. These observations you made are spot on to what I have been noticing are good check raise spots. Especially the part where you mention having backdoor flush and straight draws/overcards to continue. Also having a give up range when you don't hit those backdoors.

You were the man on TV that first got me interested in playing poker. You, David Sklansky, Dan Harrington and Johnathan Little have helped refine my game. And Greg Merson was the man who inspired me in all aspects of life, not just poker, to NEVER give up or despair. I still struggle with the despair part, but I never give up. Thank you so much for this almost 20 year journey so far, Daniel, and thank you for continuing to teach me. Peace, DNegs.

@dnegspoker First, I absolutely love your content and thought process ❤ I have tried a few training sites, but none have really hit home singularly. I try to use a mixture of strategies in the same scenario on particular flop, turn, and river textures. I've also read a lot of different strategies and I'm refining and condensing those into my own unique strategy. It's still ongoing, but it seems to be working. I went from low 20s to 39% tournament cashes/ wins. I truly listen to what you say bc I know you're great!!! Much love. I'll see you on the felt one day soon.

Really outstanding video. I think you have a great skill of combining theory and exploit. My impression is you really got into the to GTO lab a few years ago to battle with the newer high stakes player and especially in your heads up challenge with Doug Polk. Your weaving of range, balance, and sizing concepts with self and opponent awareness in this video is the outstanding. Many thanks for the content.

Can you do a video on character building on the table? How to navigate your reputation, when to, if ever, show a hand after someone folded. I'm very interested in the soft part of poker, the theatre, the people skills, in which I think you're very good. Cheers from a Brazilian in Australia.

Daniel, I played in a free tournament a while ago. I had a very aggressive opponent, who raised every single hand. I knew his style I had pocket tens under the gun he raised, and the player that was folding every single hand re-raised all in. I looked at my tens and decided that they were no good. The aggressor had ace five off suit, and the guy that was folding every single hand had pocket kings. Of course he hit the set on the river and I was happy I saved money

I don't understand why you would specifically do or not do something, why something is 'out of fashion' or 'making a comeback'. You should have as many weapons in your arsenal as possible, to make it incredibly difficult for opponents to read you. It should be all about choosing the right play in the right situation, regardless of whether or not a move is considered 'fashionable'.

Ok this was one of the more realistic guides for your audience. You’re one of my favorite players but at times I won’t watch content because it’s more in line with your normal higher stakes that doesn’t resonate with me.
Honestly, something I’d love to see is you reviewing req players content hands and providing expert analysis. Like even collaborating with other content creators in lower stakes and overviewing their analytics with your expert opinions resonates with 90% of your followers.

Daniel, I love your vlogs! But more importantly I am hoping to see you on Traitors, steaming on a Peacock! You would be fantastic on that show! If you haven’t seen it, please take a look! I know you enjoy reality tv, this show is THE one you need to do!

    1) I'm seeing these videos because I've been listening to Bey's new album a lot and youtube is confused
    2) This video convinced me that poker is a more skilled game than I thought it was.

Pro Tip: If you are watching this video to learn how to check raise more effectively you probably are not playing against competition that you want to attempt to make them fold an over pair on the river. Save that shit for when you have graduated to watching videos on river bluff to value ratios and counting river combos.

The KJ hand when u say don’t lead out - On Final tables as chip leader these types of boards there is leads IMO ( only as chip leader is how I view it) I would even lead here with 45 putting on pressure if there is shallow stacks.
    Great video as always !!
