In Germany / Austria it is quite common that you give back the cups. Actually it is *not* that you buy the cup - and can re-sell it to the booth. It's more that you make a deposit for the cup and you get it back when you return it. So it is ensured the people at the booth keep their cups and that they are re-used (after dishwashing them, of course). In Germany, depending on where you are, you must not use one-way / throw-away paper/plastic cups on events such as christmas markets. They're forbidden. Whereas one-way dishes with plastic forks and knives are still allowed...
Viennese Prater is closed from Nov - May, that's why it was so empty!! Only a few rides are open in this period and typically the 1st of May (labour day) is opening day and you can't move because of the amount of people there :D
haha "oh shiiiii*" .. love that you guys got to try kartoffelpuffer. I personally love it with apple sauce, but garlic and salt sounds delicious too! The exploding sausage was hilarious :) alex now has sausage envy! Nice video guys 💛

Looks amazingly magical! We only had one day in Austria and it snowed so bad so we didn't get to check out the Christmas markets properly. We've more than made up for it in Poland and Germany though. Will have to go back another year as you made it look so awesome. 🎄
Some of the best museums in the world are in Vienna not far from the main walking center area. Europe is pleasant to experience any time for there's lots to see and do and take in. It's so cultural... Merry Christmas to you two. :)
OMG That sausage looked AWESOME!! Even Homer Simpson would be jealous. Love the videos guys, it always leaves me hungry. Sausage sandwich, here I come.
You have to eat the black bread to the käsekrainer because this is a sort of bread that matches perfectly to this sort of sausage. And black bread is more healthier and more sating than white bread and much more than toast.
Prater is awesome and the Reisenrad is an experience, creaked more than i’d have liked!! In the park we also got a garlic butter flatbread that was really thin and crispy and was easily 18 inches in diameter. Awesome.
@@michaelgrabner8977 Ahh good to know! Thanks. I didn't expect it to be traditional to Vienna to be honest, but seeing Prater always makes me think of it :D
@@thecassman Well...it´s typical Viennese so to say because our Langos is a little bit different in comparision to Hungary = ours is very thin and crispy and we eat it pure with just garlic on it ..Hungary´s is a bit thicker and they put a lots of different stuff on it like for instance sour-cream, cheese what ever...and therefore we eat it vertical and they have to eat it horizontal otherwise the added things would fell on the floor..
oh man, I’m sad that the park wasn’t open! It looks absolutely perfect for an episode of American Horror Story in Austria but the evening Christmas market was so much “proper” delicious fun. Alison, you were particularly entertaining with your pronounciations but admittedly I’m going to spend the rest of the day trying to get the image of the exploding sausage out of my mind.

You should do a remix on your Karto'fel Poofer, potato pancake, that was some classic stuff right there lol.. OK!!! I had to edit it once especially after you said goo or gluvine. My wife and I cracked up, we think you were tipsy at that point lol
It just struck me, Allison talking is very reminiscent of Alyson Hannigan from American Pie. Can you say 'This one time at band camp' on camera please hehe.
Nice cozy visit, will have to try and do spiced apple cider with berries for the holidays. Love that mustard, have bought some at Austriansupermarket online. The mountains in Slovenia are very pretty, looking forward to your next hop. Tschüss 🐇
I`m so happy that you guys got to experience Vienna during its fabulous Advent season! I went there and met up with my sis and niece two years ago - just a marvelous time trying so many seasonal foods. Did you try the bread with liptauer cheese?
Love your videos, guys! One thing I've been curious about: you eat so much delicious food and yet manage to remain so svelte. How do you do it? I take it you exercise, but how does that work on the road? When and how (often) do you fit that in?
While you were at the Prater Park, you should have gone a little way to the southeast to Schweizerhaus. The Schweinstelze is the BEST pork I have ever tasted. It is fantastic!
That was a pretty hilarious video. Poor Allison and the exploding sausage :) You're so funny with the pronunciations, haha! Shame about that theme park though. It really did look like it was abandoned in certain parts, wow.
Love your videos. My wife and I watch them in bed before turning out the light. Tbh, although we are in the UK, we haven't subscribed to your current travelling companions channel. Although your share a similar vibe, think you have the edge over them - your vids more informative, have great editing and are gentler. Keep up the great work and enjoy your festive holiday.
I think the Prater is open at night. It might be open during the day on Saturdays, but I've only been at night. There's nothing like the Wurst in Wien!
