  • How to replicate Wes Anderson color grading in Asteroid City:
    www.cinemagrade.com/?el=aster...
    We've all been inspired by the magical look of certain films on the big screen and often wonder if it’s possible to recreate the same aesthetic in our own filmmaking.
    Well you’re in luck! Although lighting, composition and art direction play a critical role in the basis of a look it’s really the color grading that shapes the final color palette or as in the case of Wes Anderson’s films provides a great case study for us.
    In this tutorial, you'll discover the 7 secrets to recreating the same whimsical, vibrant, and highly stylized look that's found in Anderson’s latest film Asteroid City.
    This is a straightforward guide that will benefit both beginners and seasoned filmmakers who are striving to close the gap between their vision and the final output.
    You’ll be able to see this regardless of if you’re in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro because it is shown in ALL three!
    And if you're keen on achieving the look even faster, check out our specially designed Asteroid City LUTs that are embedded into our Cinema Grade plugin:
    www.cinemagrade.com/?el=aster...

    sorry, i don't understand step 5 - do you use 2 lumetri color effect (1 for teal and 1 for orange), or you work inside one? I don't understand how you start to work with warm colors after isolating cool colors, why all parameters and color wheel reset?

    Hey guys i have a question,.. recently i’ve completed grading for a film, the client was happy and the look came well.. but now the client wants to change the edit, the editor did necessary changes and shared XML & EDL files of the changed edit.. now my question is , is there any easy way to update the edit in the timeline where all the clips were already colored ? Or i just have to apply the grade to each clip individually

    • @colorgradingcentral
      @colorgradingcentral  11 місяців тому

      I think that directors, storytellers, movie buffs talk about story and themes, whereas directors of photography, colorists, and other artists look more solely at the creative aesthetic.
