Part of my family is Pakistani, and I never really got a chance to learn Urdu since we live in Turkey, so this series is going to be helpful. I just don't know how to read and write in Urdu, but I do know how to speak Urdu. And by the way for people that know Arabic or know how to read the Quran (like me) then it'll become very easy for you since you know almost all of the symbols and you know how to basically voice them.

I was fond of learning different languages from the beginning.. Since childhood, I had a good command over Hindi, English and Rajasthani.Then I learned some Sanskrit in school. Later, during the lockdown, I became interested in Urdu and loved Urdu so much that I learned the script and tallafus (pronunciation) in just 1 week. Now I have learned Sindhi and Farsi from the face of Urdu but my love for Urdu is everlasting. It is because of Urdu that I am able to write poetry. That's amazing! In Persian ق & غ sound exactly the same. also, س ص ث are pronounced similar. and ذ ظ ز ض as well, etc. The most interesting part was the part that said there is a difference between ه & هـ, in spite of us pronouncing them like each other and using هـ as the first or one of the middle alphabets of a word and ه as the final alone letter. eg: ماه And we don't have those words with a small ط above them! I'm learning Urdu written, and the rest verbally like Japanese (2 years), Arabic (12yrs), and French (7 yrs) but I'm really working on the first 3 and sorta gave French a break right now so I can focus on the rest. Plus despite finding French easy, it sounds kinda weird to me so I avoid speaking unless I have to like in school lol. But I like how French seems fancy, especially in the media. Whereas, I find urdu to be more of a romantic language, Japanese seems respectful and I find Arabic to be mystic if that makes sense, it's so interesting to me like they have their own characteristics.

I was fond of learning different languages from the beginning.. Since childhood, I had a good command over Hindi, English and Rajasthani.Then I learned some Sanskrit in school. Later, during the lockdown, I became interested in Urdu and loved Urdu so much that I learned the script and tallafus (pronunciation) in just 1 week. Now I have learned Sindhi and Farsi from the face of Urdu but my love for Urdu is everlasting.
It is because of Urdu that I am able to write poetry. This is my first urdu poem...

Just we don't have heavy letters
Also the name of Alphabet in urdu is the same with Persian.
It's easy for Persian native speakers to learn urdu
We share many loan words and the same alphabet so there may be familiarities

That's amazing! In Persian ق & غ sound exactly the same. also, س ص ث are pronounced similar. and ذ ظ ز ض as well, etc.
The most interesting part was the part that said there is a difference between ه & هـ, in spite of us pronouncing them like each other and using هـ as the first or one of the middle alphabets of a word and ه as the final alone letter. eg: ماه
And we don't have those words with a small ط above them!

Am urdu speaker .I Know many words are simmiler.For example zameen,pak,sir,shama,kitab,maiz,ilum,punch,Chadder,Dil,Hamesha,kharab,gae,Charbi,Murgi,pershan,Shayed,Teraf,doo,Angour, Kahgaz.And many words are simmiler.
Dude this is same Persian script copied from Persian. Nothing is different

I'm learning Urdu written, and the rest verbally like Japanese (2 years), Arabic (12yrs), and French (7 yrs) but I'm really working on the first 3 and sorta gave French a break right now so I can focus on the rest. Plus despite finding French easy, it sounds kinda weird to me so I avoid speaking unless I have to like in school lol. But I like how French seems fancy, especially in the media. Whereas, I find urdu to be more of a romantic language, Japanese seems respectful and I find Arabic to be mystic if that makes sense, it's so interesting to me like they have their own characteristics.
Well that's true Urdu is a romantic language and not that hard
