Monster Lizard Hunts Kangaroo

- Perentie monitor lizard's prey includes young kangaroos, other small marsupials, snakes, bats, and rodents. Behind the facade of Australia’s dramatic scenery is a motley crew of silent assassins, con artists, gang members, and brutal brawlers, vying for supremacy amidst the harsh, dry and desolate Australian desert. Competition for resources is so fierce, it’s animal residents have developed some ingenious methods of survival.

Why do I feel like the lizard never actually chased the kangaroo, they just filmed separate instances of the lizard and kangaroo hunting and edited them together?
yes my friend, it's called sensationalist bullshit, or these days clickbait, there's no way even an 9 ft lizard, basically an extra large goanna is going to take down a big red, not an adult anyway.
Why didn’t they show him chasing a lion
@@011353ever Aus has no lions
Idk
It's all bullshit...so he was "chasing" a kangaroo and stumbled across a snake 4 seconds later...🤣🤣🤣
A giant snake with legs... As if regular snakes weren't dangerous enough 😂
Props for even trying for the roo. It ran away. That actually says a lot in itself.
Oh yeah definitely! 😎
It's heavily edited so who knows if it actually chased the roo
Roo is too fast for lizard.

Clickbait - someone stitched together pictures of a lizard and pictures of a ‘roo. They dint even appear in the same picture.
That's the comment I was searching for.
Precisely. Desperate for clicks.
Indeed. And the footage wasn't even of the same kangaroo!! Not to mention the range of perenties and wombats don't overlap and rainbow bee-eaters aren't typically part of the 'desert community'.
I don't even think it's the same perentie eating the snake. The colour and markings are totally different.
@@trentoncrisp Yeah. it’s really annoying when people do this cause i’m looking for real stuff not fake stuff. like someone could have taken time recording this and this person could have stole it from them and is now taking credit

No, you are not the only one. At age 50 I’m watching this and beginning to think hard about the concept for the 1st time. Used to seeing those Komodo dragons sneaking up, taking a snip, then allowing the venom to set in. Never realized the remainder of them couldn’t run any extended distance.
Aussie monitors can run very fast for a short distance, don’t try to outrun them! I had one in my backyard a few years ago, my wife was terrified, called me home from work but it was gone when I got there. (Not a Parentie, this was a southern one.)

Have worked with a few wildlife film crews and your right they make up alot of their stuff up. Just like this one, perentie do not hunt fully grown kangaroo´s.

Somehow believe the scenes of the lizard and roo are two separate scenes, there's no actual scene of the lizard and roo in the same scene
The lizard and snake as well.. when it shows both together do not look the same ones.
shooting the lizard and kangaroo together would have been impractical due to the height difference and the terrain, besides the chase might not have brought the lizard close enough to be in the same shot at all.
What a beautiful reptile
This Parenty Lizard is the Little brother to the Komodo dragon's. It's faster and I didn't know it was another Monitor Lizard that is Poisonous wow! You learn something new every day.

I wish we could get a wide angle of these chases/attacks.
Man that lizard got some speed!
These things are like modern day raptors.
Title should be “In edited and unrelated footage a goana runs and a kangaroo runs and the videos are spliced together.”
@Foot Akh And in real life no perentia hunts a full grown or even half grown kangaroo.
"*I GOT AN IDEA!* ...Let me film a Kangaroo running, later a Monitor running in the same terrain. Then I'll say it was hunting the lizard. They won't question why my drone failed to take a high enough shot with both the Lizard and Kangaroo in the same frame to prove the lizard was really chasing the Kangaroo!"
