Also they have a bit of immunity to the poison, so that helps as well. I mean otherwise it’d have been game over for that mongoose, he got some venom right in his mouth.

Uh.. I kinda implied I know that with the fact Mongoose have tolerance to cobra poison. My point was with my comment that was yes courage does have a lot to do with how the mongoose hunts, but not every being could do what the mongoose does; for example the squirrel shown here would die with one hit from the cobra, but a mongoose could feasibly take a hit, and live to see another day. The squirrel was just as brave as the mongoose, but doesn’t have tolerance for cobra poison, and would die because it’s genetically predisposed to fall prey to cobra poison, like most mammals.
How would it not know? It’s probably seen dozens of squirrels die to cobra bites, this was definitely not it’s first encounter with a cobra either.
It’s being cautious because it’s not stupid...

I see how everyone supports mangoose in this fight and considers snake as villain but y'all should know that snakes in general are so afraid of mangooses that they immediately run when they see one. This matchup is advantageous for mangooses and in fact they do win %80 of the matchups so show snakes some mercy guys, they are the victim here
