Hi, perfect video for hat I need. But I chose 50px in the stroke thickness box and it just gives me the same thin line thickness no matter what value I put there. How do I fix this? Thanks
Thank you Brendan.
Thanks. Great video. Keep it up. Greetings from Malta - Europe.
Is it possible to make one end or both end's of a line sharp like in illustrator ?

Hi Brendan. I've never used these tools in Photoshop. But I thought they might be useful for trying out some new ideas I have. Thanks for a thoroughly explained and easily understandable tutorial on how to apply these techniques! Subscribing.

How do you edit the start and end points of a simple straight line, if you want to move them around?
Any way to bevel edges on a line to just smooth the lines angles out. Similar to how u bevel edges in Blender?
A good and direct video. Other videos I have watched on photoshop have too much beating around the bush. I wish all videos were like this.
Thank you!
When you say hit the OK button on an imac, do you mean to hit enter key or the return key? My problem is deselecting the pen tool.
how to I fill somoething with dots but without that cut dots a pattern could cause?
Hi Brenden. I have a question regarding the drawing a curved line with line tool. Your control box is slightly different from mine (Ps 2020). In my control settings the thickness of the line is adjusted by the "weight", just located next to the Align Edges thick box. And when I draw a straight line and select by Command-T and then warp tool, it makes a shape, not a curved line. Could you make it clear for me?
Same thing’s happening to me right now 🤦♂️
How do you make the anchor point in the center of the line?
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this Video.
You are so welcome!
best of the best
Thank you
Great super clear tutorial. A cool thing about the Pen tool line is that you can then go to the properties panel and feather the line (blur it without using the blur effect)
thank you
thankyou!
My line tool doesn’t show anchor points like this! I can’t select my line to edit help
can you please help me? i cant see the stoke color in my photoshop thats why i cant do tracing shapes :(
Thanks
How can we connect lines corners especially like in L shape? Two lines to make L shape without showing corners?
Very clear and easy to understand
Glad you think so!
Nice video, pretty useful.
What I would like to know is whether it's possible to create non-pixelated lines in Photoshop. If so, how do I do it? I was told that you're going to need to have graphics card built-in your computer to make that happen. The thing is that I only have a laptop is the graphics card cannot be built-in. If it's not possible to create non-pixelated lines without graphics card, I'll be okay with that too. You see, I'm practicing digital drawing because up until now, I've been doing traditional artworks.
im your 100,000th follower im hype

Pen tool question: I drew a path on a maze puzzle, but how do i set it onto the canvas (in this case, the puzzle)?
When i saved the file as a picture, the drawn path doesn't appear in Preview or Chrome, only in Photoshop.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but no matter how many px I set the width, even 0, it still is at least 50 px wide.
Gosh thank you!
it turned out I was drawing lines like a child
Thank You.
You are welcome!
underrated
Great presentation. I saw that your video was 12 minutes long and I almost didn't watch it. I wanted something simple so that I could just draw a simple line knowing that I was using the right tool, but the "3 Best Tools" snagged me. I'm so glad I watched your video. It was incredibly helpful. Your presentation was straightforward, easy to follow, and efficient. Well done! Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Thanks 1.000.000 X my friend!
I try to draw a line but appears arrow can you help me please
tks
is there a way to draw double parallel lines?
thank you
No problem
Hello Brendan, Unfortunately, I try to change a straight line to a dotted line using you method but nothing happens. The line is still straight with no dashes, What am I doing wrong?
thanks!
No problem!
How do i just get the line without box around the line?
How can I make a circle Infront of the straight line?
Thanks for the video.
Somehow, I can’t change the height less than 1 pixel, hence the top and bottom is overlapping each othe t
yh i'm having the same issue. Have you been able to solve it?
Brendan, I don't draw many lines, but when I do I usually end up with a mess. LOL Thanks much for this video.
😂 No problem!
You must have a different version of Photoshop than I have. I don't have the settings you mentioned in your 2nd segment.
Weird. I get a double dotted line and they are slightly out of sync, not in alignment, slightly off..?
How do you keep the line "on" in the drawing? When I go to make another line, the first one disappears....
Besides not having the time atm to watch this whole video - why is that with CS6, that the line tool always creates two pointers into each direction, when i just want to add a vertical line into a particular image?
how do i make a line in a corner then fill in that corner with the paint bucket?
The easiest way would be to make a selection with the pen tool and fill it with a color
Does anyone know how I can make a diagonal line without it making a new layer every time I use the line tool?
If you create a diagonal line, you could save it as a custom shape preset to use later on.
i HATE making lines in photoshop.. why can't they just have the same pen tool as illustrator. so easy to edit anchor points etc.
I have tried to make a line but it's coming double. Why?
line tool drawing is a thin box, not an actual line though
no pencil tool?????
Why does the line keep disappearing?
Been trying so hard to make a baseball font swoosh it’s killing me
Odd, when I tried drawing a line with the line tool, it keeps drawing an arrow, not a straight line
same for me...so confused
Using the brush tool to create lines can confuse some people if they have pen pressure set.
Thankyou. Just saved my ass from burning
Once I make a line with shape tool, how can you make it longer? There seems to be NO SIMPLE WAY to do this, and NO tutorials explain how!
google exactly what you asked and it explain perfectly
Cant see cursor😢
WTH? Second video I found and MY SETTINGS don't match. My line tool does not have the fill/stroke thing on top. GRRRRRRRR
I do not know what is the goal of showing the line tool if for many people it simply doesn't work.
12 minutes to show how to do 3 things! My dude!!
"the line tool is the easiest way to create dashed and dotted lines", it's also why everyone does it manually. for such a basic task, adobe made it impossible.
Nope. It doesn't work for me. The line tool is actually a very thin rectangle, so when I add dashes, they go from both sides and they overwrite. It looks like have a two dashed lines that never match. Somehow, it works perfectly in this video, so probably this is some photoshop update.
The cursor is so small I can't see what you're clicking.
My photoshop only creates arrows. Damn, how come can this app be so bad compared to the easiness of premiere pro?
Adobe's gotta change this photoshop asap, it's a terrible app
Guys guys I swear it sounds like he says the N word at 0:14
Photoshops vector tools are soo unwieldy conpared to Sai. Is not even funny
