I have been using ace pro for 3 months. It is my go to camera for vlogging my life. The new features saved me a lot of time and make things easier. So I think my choice is great.
You can set your Action 4 to 2.7K to switch to 360 horizon lock, and then you don’t even need to do any post processing as in Ace pro’s free frame mode… However I think that there are so little cases where I’d use it

Either I'm imagining it or you're trying to make idiots out of your viewers. in ace pro you use the widest setting and in action4 you use dewarp. 3:38 omg i cant belive it , you know you have HorizonSteady in action4 :| info from dji page if you can't read: "EIS is not supported in Slow Motion and Timelapse modes. HorizonSteady is only available when the video resolution is 1080p (16:9) or 2.7K (16:9) with a frame rate of 60fps or below. For action camera, the DJI Action series has the wider field of view which makes it a lot better for most users who need it for action stuff more so with motorcycle riding. Ace Pro's field of view sucks for motorcycle riding. It can barely capture your hands and eliminates the effect of speed because it captures less background than the Action 4. Heck, the DJI Action 2 has a bigger field of view than the Ace Pro.
Enjoy the comparison! In your opinion, which camera has more natural looking colors (closer to what you actually see with your eyes). Also, have you tried them underwater for snorkeling or scuba diving?
Sorry to say but I think you have an ND8 filter on your Action 4 and forgot to take it off. The visuals are way darker than the Ace Pro. Almost like you had an ND filter on it. Just saying.
Hi mate so u mite be able to help answer this I'm try to use the x3 shot lab wanted to test out match cut i cant seem to figure out how u do it since yhe viddo tutorial they show is for the insta go but it does list it compatible for x3 still ive tried placing my camera on a table and hit record then clap twice then stop recording move somewhere else and repeat same process then when i go shot labs and select match cut it doesn't show and footage to select. What am i doing wrong ?
I have both and both are excellent cameras, tbh, there are marginal differences in terms of daylight quality. I use both in my arsenal and if I want to push 10 bit, I use the DJI but since the Ace Pro, I really haven't done much color grading as the AP footage straight out of camera is excellent. There are a few things that stand out on the Ace Pro that makes me grab it first are, screen interface, the DJI has always been great with touch screen display, light years ahead of GoPro but the Ace Pro touch screen is much better then DJI, smoother and much more responsive, I tend to miss the icons on the DJI because the screen is smaller and I don't with Ace Pro. Low light/night shooting, Ace Pro stands out above all the competition, hands down. even with the same size sensor of the DJI, the stabilization is much better on the Ace Pro, much less "jitters". Again, both are excellent cameras!
Bought and returned the DJI Action 4 the next day. Requires "Activation" from DJI. Why would a camera require activation? I understand a cellphone or drone but a camera? Called DJI and was told it was to keep track of active v. inactive cameras! Huh? I asked if they can deactivate a lost cameras to which the said yes. So this means users are being followed by DJI.
hey Colin, Im waiting for my ace pro to arrive. quick question, you said in the beginning (01:05) of the video that the they are both in their widest, and the ace pro has a little bit of an extra wide field of view. But most reviews I've seen say the opposite. Which is it? (It looks in the videos though that the ace pro is wider)

none of you comparision is right`````, Action4 is much wider than Acepro...

if you are running settings out of the box, never compare FOV "out of box" . By spec Action 4 go max at 155 deg, AceP goes only 151 i believe.

feel like GoPro does all that stuff too but better.
The exposure on face is a lot better on the ace pro when shooting backlit, impressive
